  1. What about the Walking dead #94 image expo convention sketch cover? Less than 200 of those in existence, that is a low print run. And the lucille variants graded 9.8 ss? Not too many of those around. Then again they are variants.
  2. I really, really want a hulk 181. I would love to hang it up right next to my walking dead #1. Add a giant sized x-men, tmnt #1 and an asm 129 and i wouldnt need a tv anymore. I would just sit and stare at them all day. Nude. With candles lit and Ninja Rap playing on vinyl.
  3. GPA also doesn't include convention sales. But I wouldn't doubt that those sales at conventions are based off of current prices. If you own more than one copy you are lucky. Or a serious collector. If you plan on selling one, I recommend you wait until the buzz builds back up and people have more loose money in their pockets. Walking Dead #1's make an awesome Christmas gift... Just keep in mind there are plenty of modern books without TV shows that have held their value over the years (Chew, Bone, Y the last man, Goon...). It's not a common comic and people want to own it. If I didn't have one I would be working towards getting one. It's a modern key. The punisher bubble bursted a long time ago and people still pay good money for ASM 129. Its a comic icon. I really really want one. Why because the movies were so good? No, but I did appreciate the scene with the popsicle (PWJ #19 hat nod). It's just one of those keys. And like it or not, so is The Walking Dead #1.
  4. Walking Dead prices sag in the off season. Leading up to the next season they will spike again as people get excited for the new season. During the mid season break they will spike again. Everything sags during convention season due to the fact that a lot of potential buyers are saving their money for conventions and accommodations therefore there appears to be less interest.
  5. You left out one fact and detail. The writers strike greatly impacted Heroes viewership. So there's your answer. The shows popularity holds up the value for the books therefore the bubble will burst after the next writers strike. Also, you may want to eat a Snikers, Betty White.
  6. Selling some Peter Panzerfaust books on ebay. No Reserve auctions. Peter Panzerfaust #1 beautiful 9.8 candidate! NO RESERVE Peter Panzerfaust #1-6 +9 &10 NO RESERVE!!! .99¢ Starting Bid Auctions end in 7 days (Saturday May 18th, 2013).
  7. Thanks for showing your to the boards and simultaneously making one of the least correct statements possible. Here's a tip: when you have no idea who you are talking to or what they collect or own it's probably unwise to whip it out like this. It's better to keep silent and have people think you are lacking, than to lay the gherkin on the table and remove all doubt. Owning something doesn't mean you are required to lie about it and call it the first bulletproof collectible in the history of mankind. I refuse to compromise my integrity on the hopes I make an extra buck. Then again maybe you are light in that area too. So make your own choice. I said "seem". Read slower. And it absolutely seems like there are some people on this thread who are rooting for the walking dead to plummet in value based on what they are posting. You're not necessarily one of those people. I have not called you out by name. but Comix4fun, Here's a tip: Don't walk around like the all knowing comic authority and king of the boards. And try to be a little less of an individual_without_enough_empathy. Nice backpedal. Apology accepted. I only spoke to you in individual_without_enough_empathy because individual_without_enough_empathy seems to be the only language you speak. Also when it comes to these boards , and who's and authority and who isn't, it's like MMA for nerds. You earn it. The next time you want to give someone advice, don't. Unless it's for comedic purposes. Fortunately for you I am fluent in individual_without_enough_empathy. MMA for nerds? Now that would be entertaining. I did not apologize in fact I called you an individual_without_enough_empathy. You desperately need to reread my posts and your own. You were wrong about about the walking dead video game, the crow and about me. You may want to reconsider posting any more advice considering your track record of being wrong. This is the last thing I'm going to say on the subject: I like the walking dead. I enjoy the comics, the show and the telltale game. I look forward to the story developing further. I have enjoyed collecting and selling the comics and I could honestly give a rats what history has taught us as far as the strength of a comic book as an investment. I love my copy of Walking Dead #1 just as much now as when raw copies were going for $200 to $300 bucks a few years ago, which is when i purchased my copies. I'm not selling mine. A lot of people thought this book hit its peak at $1000 dollars. Guess they were wrong. $2000? hmmmm guess they were wrong about that too. Will it ever see $4000 i don't know and guess what... neither do you. If you don't have one and want one I suggest you do like I did. Search ebay for raw copies listed in NM/M, buy tickets to a comic convention that Robert Kirkman and Tony Moore are going to be at, get a hotel, fly out to said convention, get them signed and witnessed and graded, keep the nicest one for yourself and sell the rest to pay for your expenses. Bam! Free copy! Don't hate the player, hate the game. Now I'm going to get off the computer before this erupts into MMA for nerds. Wait, isn't that called pro wrestling? You are literally in another county with all the backpedaling you are doing. Sure, don't bother siting what you're talking about. The statement and the facepalm i'm sure is enough. How have I contradicted myself? Use quotes. Show me what you and comix4fun are referring too. My stance has always been the same.

  9. Thats it! I'm selling all of my comics and investing it in pork bellies. The bacon bubble will never burst.
  10. Thanks for showing your to the boards and simultaneously making one of the least correct statements possible. 11. The game I mentioned was the only real game they've put out for WD. I have the TellTale game, and I desperately tried to like it. I am predisposed to loving everything Walking Dead and it just got boring after a while. I used to like those "Choose your Path" books as a kid but something about the game didn't do it for me. It didn't feel like a game. Then I realized it was a cheap cobbling together of webgames in an effort to cash in. Then it made sense. Thanks for making my point for me. Something that USED TO BE white hot, isn't anymore and NO ONE CARES about it. Walking Dead is white hot RIGHT NOW. In the future, just like every other once hot property, it won't be hot any more. When that happens the heat, interest, and hype you see right now won't be there to support values. It's just a fact of the cycles of popularity. You're clearly missing my point here. Walking dead has far more substance then the Crow story wise and even in the 90's no one cared about the Crow movie sequels. Why don't we look up the reviews on those films...? The Crow was mainly popular because it starred Bruce lee's son and it was based on a comic book during a time when Batman and TMNT were enjoying a lot of mainstream popularity. The soundtrack was good. It branded that era in music really well but that does not a good comic book make. So many people seem to be wishing for The Walking Dead to fall. I'm sorry that you didn't grab one before the price shot through the roof, really, i am. C'mere, you need a hug? Wash the Crow off your hands first and I may let you hold mine, through the bag of course.
  12. First of all this is all I could picture reading the above: Second of all: "Kick Game"??? This one? Walking Dead Survival Instinct 4.0 out of 10. Or maybe, this one? 3.0 out of 10 . Perhaps you meant this one? 4.0 out of 10 Oh., hold up....those are all the same game. I'm sorry, I interrupted you, you were saying something about making stuff up as you went along. Carry on. (thumbs u The Telltale series was extremely well received. SEE! I played it and enjoyed it very much. You should try it out. Each of the 5 chapters plays out as an episode. Lots of forks in the road with consequences and varied outcomes. You went through a lot of work looking up reviews just to smear the wrong game in my face. Nice try though. Carry on. (thumbs u And seeing as we're talking about popularity playing a role in the value of the book i think opinion has its place in this discussion. It's a fact though that a majority of people didn't know or care that there was a third crow movie. Now go ask your friends weather or not Walking Dead is coming back next season, hell, go ask a perfect stranger.
  13. The crow mostly sucked. The first movie was interesting but pretty much no one watched more than just the first movie. Tv show? Who watched it? 4 or 5 movies? I remember 2. And the second one bombed. Cartoon? Now I think you're just making mess up. Three successful seasons on tv, 109 issues so far and a kick video game. Walking dead is no Crow. And you don't have to be an early 90s goth girl to figure that out.
  14. I really want a hulk 181 too. And a giant sized x-men #1. Bone #1 would be great to own, maybe first appearance of moon knight or ghost rider... I look at marvel silver age #1s like they are classic muscle cars and golden age dc and horror like their exotic sports cars. And were taking about ink, paper and staples people. Don't underestimate the appeal of comic books. Walking dead has earned its spot and will forever be a sought after collectable.
  15. If this is a bubble and it does pop, I believe it will hurt the hobby as a whole. But honestly I disagree that it is a bubble and I feel it has pumped a lot of blood back into the hobby. No one wants just one expensive comic book. Thats just boring. Eventually collectors spread their branches into other books. Even into other collectables like toys or autographs or cards. Collectors collect. This ain't wall street. Your not going to wake up tomorrow to the walking dead comics you own being worthless. It's just not going to happen.
  16. I really want a tmnt #1 first print. Whens that bubble gonna pop? Maybe once they include Vanilla Ice in a live action movie... Go ninja go ninja go!
  17. I'm not selling mine. Or any of my walking dead books I have left. I saved the nicest copies of the keys I wanted and I will pass them on when I die to my progeny. I personally have enjoyed the comic and the show enough to where these books now have sentimental value aside from monetary value. Markets fluctuate but my sentiment does not. I don't see this as a bubble but an awakening. No one will ever treat the walking dead like frozen peas. If I'm wrong, I guess that means I'll end up with a freezer full of frozen peas.
  18. What the hell does any of this have to do with the price of tea in China?
  19. Well, the problem is there's always someone else filling the gaps/holes. I see Rick going down in flames in a fight, not with a wimper. No way is the comic making it to #200. Well you had better speak to Kirkman as he has been saying for at least a year that he intends it to be a 300 issue series. It's his decision to milk the cow. I like Kirkman's milk.
  20. A blue label 9.8 (white warning) just sold for $1825.00 on eBay on Dec 2nd.
  21. Walking Dead will probably be known as the quintessential zombie show. Hell, people who don't even like zombie stuff love Walking Dead. Tales from the Crypt comics are still valuable aren't they? That show stopped airing like 20 years ago and the comic is a lot older then that. I honestly have to explain to almost everyone I know who watches the show that the Walking Dead is a comic and started out that way. Do they run out and buy CGC grade 9.8's of all the keys? No but they definitely think my copy of number one is flash. And so do I. That'll never change. I bet you'd be seriously astounded by how many people returned to comic collecting or just plain started the hobby because of this show. The more people in the hobby, the higher the demand for comics. The higher the demand... So praise Walking Dead and any other book that comes along and sparks the interests of so many. It's not like the book isn't awesome! You want to know my prediction on when the bubble will burst? The apocalypse. If it ever happens no one is going to care about comics or coins or cards they're only going to care about food, ammo and shelter. And I learned that from reading the Walking Dead. So my advice would be to trade in all of your comics for food and guns now before the bubble does burst and all you can get for them is a can of spaghetti-O's and a box of .22 rounds.
  22. Just curious, what's the record high for each grade (SS and non-SS)? According to GPA VF/NM to NM/M copies of Walking Dead #1 last went for... 9.8..........$1600 9.8 SS....$2026 9.6..........$1100 9.6 SS....$1750 ($1250 90 day average) 9.4..........$950 9.4 SS....$1300 9.2..........$675 9.2 SS....$685 9.0..........$889 9.0 SS....$1203 I hope that it's okay to quote GPA here.
