  2. http://www.ebay.com/itm/252707213349?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Looks like the "2.5" that recently sold for a little over 8 smackers is back up for sale. Buyer looking to make a quick flip
  3. http://www.ebay.com/itm/CHAMBER-OF-CHILLS-19-CLASSIC-SKELETON-COVER-PRE-CODE-HORROR-HARVEY-MISFITS-NR-/291974993429?hash=item43fb10d615:g:aIcAAOSw6DtYVZzX Is this what low grade complete copies are going for nowadays? Even with the rusty staples this sold for a strong price. I know this book has been heating up over the past year, but I never expected low grade copies to be selling for close to 2k. Is this just an outlier or has this book surpassed even CSS 22 as one of the most sought after and priciest PCH books? It seems as of right now that the demand is definitely outweighing the supply. Do more issues being placed on the open market bring this back down to a more realistic level? Or is this price point here to stay? Curious as to what you all think. And just because there is no dedicated thread for this book, here is my copy
  4. A decent amount of conversation has been on Chip's mental health. Whether it's deemed inappropriate or unnecessary seems more like a personal opinion to me. To each their own
  5. FF4 seems like the better book in regards to upside considering Marvel has not done anything with Namor yet. I can see this book exploding in price if he is used in anything (either TV or film). Personally I would take a copy of FF4 over Showcase 30, but that's just me.
  6. As someone who is in the medical field, you should know how completely inappropriate it is to be speculating on any sort of diagnosis without having met the individual. Once again, people should be voting based on the facts, not based on ill informed attempts at medical diagnosis based on internet history. There is plenty of factual information to support an HOS vote without indulging in careless speculation. He is not my patient, and I am not offering him any medical advice. And by no means am I trying to sway anyone's opinion based on what his history is. His public information is out there, and this does not come close to violating any HIPAA privacy rules, so give me a break. I am free to discuss as I wish, so you can get off your high horse. I have every right to discuss what I think could be going on given what little history I know. Does it make my assessment 100% correct? Maybe yes, maybe no. Which is why I hoped for his sake he was receiving proper medical care from a licensed Psychiatrist. My post was more to inform those about the speculation behind his mental health and thinking that his behavior is somehow a by-product of his depression. His extensive history of maladaptive behavior smells more like a personality disorder to me, and I have no problem mentioning that on a public forum.
  7. As someone who is currently in the medical field, Chip's long history of manipulation, stealing, and lack of remorse makes me think that this is more of a personality disorder that he is dealing with, specifically antisocial personality disorder, than purely just depression. While he may have a mood disorder, his 20+ years of taking advantage of people speaks more to a personality issue than just major depression. While it still is a mental health issue, personality disorders are generally harder to treat with modern psychiatric medications, but there has been good results shown with long term therapy. Whether Chip is truly getting help for his mental health is anyone's guess. I for one hope he is getting the help he needs and that he is being evaluated by a doctor who can diagnose and treat this kind of maladaptive behavior. For the sake of the board's integrity, I cannot support anyone who takes advantage of the good will of respectable members. Given Chip's long pattern of deception, to think that he can change overnight would be a medical miracle. Even with 6 months of therapy, I can tell you from my experience he still has a long way to go. -John
  8. Took a shot with a Craigslist ad. Pretty happy with my haul today. This one is for all of you Copper heads out there!
  9. First Hyde or first Tales of Asgard? Both great books, IMHO, but if push comes to shove I'll take the issue with more Kirby art. JIM 97. 'Course I'm a reader/collector. 99 is the first full appearance of Surtur
  10. Different strokes for different folks I guess. I am also somebody who thought the last Avengers movie was overrated. And honestly, I am not even looking forward to Ant-Man.
  11. I actually thought the newest trailer wasn't that bad
  12. Anyone else in the club looking to sell their copy
  13. Except that's also the first appearance of J. Jonah Jameson. Which is why, of course, that issue is so valuable. Don't forget the Chameleon
  14. Haha yes I had a feeling you were talking about the 1989 run (has a sweet shredder cover). The 1988 run can still be had for cheap for issues #1 and #2 but watch them go up in price with the movie announcement. Still, you can find nice copies of both for under $5 which is a steal considering how key Bebop, Rocksteady, and Krang are in the TMNT universe.
  15. This should be the comic that has their first appearance btw. Always thought their mutated form was in issue 2
  16. Thanks for clearing that up. I was going through issue #1 and both Bebop and Rocksteady appear as mutants in #1 as well for multiple panels. Do they really? I guess my memory is a bit fuzzy. Would you mind taking a pic of the panels and sharing it as I do not have my copy anymore
  17. I would say Krang and the Technodrome are definitely issue 1. Bebop and Rocksteady appear in human form in issue 1, but their first mutated appearance in comics would be issue 2. There were two separate comic runs by the name of TMNT Adventures. The one with the above first comic appearances occur in the 1988 series.
  18. That was a great grab! The 8.0 went for $2500 too which is over $1000 less than recent sales. Wonder if there has been shilling of this book going on if auction prices don't match up with the recent GPA sales
