  1. Lol 😂 What employees are told to do in stores versus what they actually do are two totally separate things. There MAY be a recording of Sears Security (Loss Prevention) closed circuit TV footage from the mid 90’s showing security full blown tackling people trying to steal. That footage might have been compiled with a musical background for viewing pleasure. The music might be Rhyming and Stealing from the Beastie Boys among others such as Cypress Hill’s when the **** goes down. If that existed then everyone in that video might have become a cop, fireman or transit authority… most are retired. If it existed it might be pulled out from time to time at summer bbqs. Thank god no one had cell phone cameras in the 90’s.
  2. I loved me a good Rebels prequel. Rebels is still my favorite out of the four animated shows and it NARROWLY beats Clone Wars. BTW... I went to Disney+ for the Bad Batch. I hung around all day mesmerized by the Secrets of Whales on the Nat Geo wing of the platform. https://www.disneyplus.com/series/secrets-of-the-whales/3aHpgjYaJTM5
  3. Cantina Showdown - $105 https://hasbropulse.com/collections/new/products/star-wars-the-black-series-the-power-of-the-force-cantina-showdown Black Series with the Cantina Bar To be honest, I think the pack in with Kenobi is odd. They should have packed in the bartender as I cannot see him being offered separately.
  4. Emperor and his Throne - Vintage Collection Coming Soon on Hasbro Pulse. https://hasbropulse.com/collections/new/products/star-wars-the-vintage-collection-emperor-s-throne-room
  5. Filoni officially gets a Hasbro Pulse Exclusive action figure. Pictured but not yet available for preorder. https://hasbropulse.com/products/star-wars-the-black-series-trapper-wolf
  6. Don't be surprised when I appropriate this for my next toy sale in Mixed this weekend.
  7. Left in a pail at the beach. They are now headed toward Staten Island.
  8. There was a tragedy at the beach yesterday. My newest investment was ruined.
  9. There is no shame in throwing things out.
  10. Yup, which is why I said in the garage sale thread that if anyone ever tried entering my home to rob me I would shrug at shooting them. My only concern would be cleaning the place up after the fact.
  11. Maybe some of us will respect them more when they stop sleeping behind the convent at the local church in their car or the treeline behind the diner (actually sleeping not rafting where they hang out with other cops at the back of the train station), fixing tickets and accidents involving personal injury for relatives, driving other officers (friend of mine) home who are caught in drunk driving incidents, going at it with their girlfriends behind the utility shed by the boating ramps at the local park ... among other things. Nassau County police ... one of the highest paid policing jobs in the nation. I live in what can be referred to as a cop town. Many of the guys who work NYPD that live here cannot stand Nassau County PD around my town.
  12. Ehh... Frank is kind of right. At least by what I have seen over the last decade, the trend in the Northeast seems to be to sell it yourself. I remember a dealer telling me that he rarely finds good stuff out of the Northeast and kept finding people approaching him in the South. Everything I come across these days are eBay rejects. Got a GI Joe collection? Take it to Facebook or eBay. Transformers? Star Wars? Comics? The internet has made it so easy to cut out the middleman of a dealer that unless you are strapped for cash and are willing to put some work into it, there is no need to hawk your good items at a Flea Market or a Garage sale. Shad, you said that you generated $100k in sales and I assume a lot of that was sent through MCS. That's the same thing as selling it through eBay and Facebook. Would you set up a Flea Market stand or have a Garage sale to sell whatever you sold that generated that amount? I actually thought of doing something this summer and catch the village in a loophole. I was thinking of running a mini garage sale / comic and toy con in my 90 foot drive and across my backyard. The village requires a permit for a garage sale but makes no mention that I cannot invite my friends to participate. I have several comic collecting friends that either live in the city or rent in an apartment where they do not have the access or ability to do that. They could set up tables of toys and comics and anything else they wanted. Here was the problem with that. People like Frank are not approaching a garage sale looking for anything else but bargains or fire sales. I really am not too keen on putting a signal flair up to the general public that my address is associated with what they might consider high end collectables. I really would have no problem shooting an intruder. Which leads me to my next thing. It seems like an invitation to be robbed. Point is, why offer items at a garage sale or sell at a discount when there are so many avenues for me to maximize the realization for my investment?
  13. Lego Double Points ... looks like it will start on 7/12 The latest LEGO newsletter that was sent out today revealed that we will be getting double VIP points on the LEGO Shop next week. For one week (7/12 – 7/18), you will be able to earn double points on everything you purchase including pre-order items. This is always good for sets that never see discounts like the modular sets and the more geared toward adults big sets like the Bugle or The Falcon.
  14. Ehhh... not necessarily. They do not treat all defects equally. Here is my 3.5 and I am leaving well enough alone at a 3.5. The big knocks on the book are the 3/4" spine split and the tape pull tab missing out of the back. Visually it looks much better than a 3.5. I am leaving well enough alone because as I was told years ago it could be a gamble of a .5 bump up OR DOWN. I am leaving well enough alone. CGC seems to really hit hard with certain defects no matter the appearance of the book otherwise.
  15. I liked the Squid and the Whale - royal tennenbaums didn’t do much for me. I started to really appreciate Wes Anderson’s upon seeing the life aquatic
  16. Ha... I was getting some things together and was flip flopping on a movie to add when I heard the "dunk" sound notifying me of your response. For consideration. Rocky is perhaps a perfect sports movie especially because he loses. I am also very partial to Wes Anderson movies (Life Aquatic, Grand Budapest, Rushmore, Moonrise Kingdom) but I know that is not everyone's cup of tea and might be my inner hipster breaking free. They are not perfect movies though... but... damn good.
  17. As cliche as it might be... I think The Shawshank Redemption is a perfect movie from the -script, delivery, cinematography (that beginning sweeping overhead shot of the prison moving toward you contrasted with the overhead shot of the ending beach scene as it pulls away), the musical score, pacing, and editing. A few movies immediately came to mind that were not mentioned and whether or not they are perceived as 'perfect movies' is obviously debatable but perhaps they come to mind because they are near perfect or just that damn good. Wall-E City of God - That movie set in the favelas No Country for Old Men Forrest Gump 12 Angry Men Moana (Before that I would have said the Lion King) Casablanca It's a Wonderful Life The Dark Knight The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
  18. Toy Story 2 (not the first one) at one point, was regarded as the best of the series and pretty close to what could be perceived as a perfect movie as it improved on the original.
