  1. Because it’s technically Massapequa Park when you punch it in which is sometimes different... the address in question is 39 Linda Drive according to the older associated threads... despite them putting Massapequa down as the eBay address, Nassau records will show that the address is technically the Park. It’s important to note for anyone that wants to search the records. I have relatives that are on the boarder of Massapequa and Massapequa Park... if you want to join the town pool they are Massapequa.. tax records and postal service Massapequa park. Water, permits and things like that are all scattered between the two. These relatives refer to the town they live in as Massapequa also but technically they are assigned Massapequa Park as a designated zip code. I wasn’t correcting to be a jerk - it’s just for reference. personally I am surprised it was not listed as East Massapequa - which technically not even a town
  2. So I mixed a little bit... (drop or two of ghost pepper sauce with sweet baby ray's bbq sauce and heated it over. Delicious. Really amazing. Still hot but I can see why I might keep Ghost Pepper sauce in my pantry and fridge.
  3. Sigh... That's Massapequa "Park" - it's Christmas card hell when you have to send cards out and confuse the two in the address. They are both entwined together. If anyone truly wants they can run the address through Nassau County tax records to find out who the owner is and then subsequent searches can reveal if they are in anyway shape or form related to to Dupcak. The owner was outed in an associating thread. Massapequa and Massapequa Park According to Wikipedia and Long Island news... Home to: Jerry Seinfeld Alec and the Baldwin Brothers. Joey Buttafuocco and the Amy Fisher thing. Carlo Gambino Roy DeMeo MS 13 Body Dumpings in the preserve. Bubba Ray Dudley Stuttering John According to the boards and comic book circles it was also home to Blu Comics or whatever it was that was once in Amityville and then moved to Hicksville Rd where the owner had screwed people over on Magic Card preorders then told them publicly on facebook that he wanted all his "haters to die of AIDs". He may have also been swapping out books in CGC submissions but that was never proven. That came from a disgruntled worker. "Oh yeeeeeeah. Anyone know whatever happened to THAT guy?" Yup, according to my LCS owner (now retired) whose shop was in Seaford, the adjoining town, the owner of Blu Comics wasn't paying Diamond (no new comics) or his rent which led to the sheriff boarding up the store. Thing was that the owner was illegally leaving in his own shop and almost found himself boarded up in there. Oh Long Island...
  4. Yeah I also want to give a public thank you to @01TheDude. After seeing his excel sheet, I was able to make some improvements on mine. I did not want to reveal much but he did help me build a better mouse trap. I also appreciated you keeping track of things. Send me your address as well. Not-So-Secret Santa is going to drop ship a stocking stuffer.
  5. BTW @www.alexgross.com Here is an excellent representation of Joe's work and ability to remove a spine roll. This is probably one of my favorite GA Caps and at my pay grade you cannot own them all so I chase only the ones I REALLY want. The first scan comes from Heritage when it was a 3.5 The second scan is the result once Joe removed the spine roll and it still looks like that today. Even though it is a 4.0 and only bumped up by .5 of a grade, the overall look of the book is much better after sending it to be pressed and regraded. There is a dramatic improvement.
  6. Winners: 1st Place: @The Lions Den 2nd Place: @Comics4All 3rd Place: @ADAMANTIUM So this is how I want to do this. Due to social distancing the only people I am seeing or exchanging gifts with are my parents, the gf, and I have a remote virtual gift with the Aunt and Uncle. So allow me to play Not So Secret Santa. Mostly we are talking Legos. But give me some likes and dislikes and we will see what Santa can bring you. PM with a name and shipping address and I will get something sent off to you ASAP so you have an extra something for the holidays. I want to thank everyone that participated. I want to thank Joe of course. I also want to thank CGC Customer Service who straightened things out when there was no movement on the books for over two months. Yikes. The staff that pick up the phones are the best.
  7. Great question. I mentioned it earlier in the thread but should have tagged him. Joe does exceptional work. There is a difference between all of the guys out there that are buying up T shirt presses and just squishing books. I have seen the long term effects of what they do. Joe has corrected spine rolls and other aspects of a book that have improved the aesthetic and they have maintained that pressing job years later. @joeypost - I would always recommend Joe. Quick story. Earlier this year on one of the FB comics some guy showed a higher value book and said he was thinking about buying a t shirt press because he wondered if a press would improve this book he showed. A lot of people encouraged him to try it so I chimed in that he should send that book out to someone who knew what they were doing instead of all of the 'basement pressers' that were running their mouths. Someone called me out on it basically asking who I thought was better than all of them. I said Joe of CFP comics. The guy that called me out said, "Yeah, Joe is an excellent presser."
  8. If we were to go by pernts... and deleted threads... Any thread created by Icandothisallday / jaraven7 - was a winner. Those were the Back to the Future, Best of Britain, Live TV show threads which were all originally locked and then subsequently erased after the member was tossed. Dylan threads were all the rage in 2020. However, I think you should do this thread in about two weeks from now. I mean 2020 is still young for the CGC Boards.
  9. Going to sit down and have some breakfast and double check things... because there is a tie it seems for first... I think there might even be a three way tie.
  10. Last book from the submission..., Crime Suspenstories 15... the other copy... This was purchased off eBay as a 'good' last year... I was expecting a 3.5... so again.. Comic Description: Crime SuspenStories 15 2-3/53 E.C. Comics Grader Notes: light wear all edges of cover moderate creasing to cover moderate wear all corners of cover
  11. What about the other ASM 14? This was picked up on the boards as a 'G'. Given the recent popularity of the book, I had to slab my remaining copies of it. Comic Description: Amazing Spider-Man 14 7/64 Marvel Comics Grader Notes: light staining to cover light tears to cover light wear all corners of cover light wear all edges of cover moderate creasing to cover moderate spine stress lines to cover
  12. Other books from this submission... ASM 14 purchased raw here as a 3.0 a few years ago. Comic Description: Amazing Spider-Man 14 7/64 Marvel Comics Grader Notes: light bindery tears to cover light staining to cover light tears to cover moderate creasing to cover moderate spine stress lines to cover
  13. Almost forgot the Batman book... Purchased off the boards as a 3.5... it cleaned up nicely with a press. Raw 3.5? to a CGC 4.5 Comic Description: Batman 40 4-5/47 D.C. Comics Grader Notes: light foxing to cover light tears to cover light wear all corners of cover light wear all edges of cover moderate creasing to cover moderate spine stress lines to cover
  14. And now... the Four Color 596... I was pleasantly surprised. 4.0 Comic Description: Four Color 596 12/54 Dell Publishing Grader Notes: light bindery tears to cover light staining to cover light wear all corners of cover light wear all edges of cover moderate creasing to cover
  15. FF48 This was a heartbreaker and I gotta say... CGC 6.0 to a CGC... 5.5 As always, Joe did an exceptional job. Comparing the scans, I think it came out nicer but I am obviously biased. I cannot help but wonder if CGC missed the tape somehow on the first go around. If the book climbs even more, I might see if the tape removal is worth it. If anyone thought it was a sharp looking 6.0, then I promise that this is the sharpest 5.5 one might ever see. Fantastic Four 48 3/66 Marvel Comics Grader Notes: light creasing to cover light finger bends on cover moderate spine stress lines to cover staple weak bottom of spine tape left bottom of interior cover
  16. The Superman 25. This was a surprise. This was originally a CGC 5.0. I have the label somewhere. I bought the book raw on heritage as it really looked nicer. Yes, CGC accounted for the tear as you can see from the grader notes. I originally thought they might have missed it for some reason. No one saw this coming, including myself. Cracked out CGC 5.0 to a CGC 7.0 Again, there is no one I would trust with my GA stuff more than Joe. Comic Description: Superman 25 11-12/43 D.C. Comics Grader Notes: light spine stress lines to cover moderate creasing to cover moderate tears to cover
  17. Crime Suspenstories 15. I love this book. Due to the cut of the book I originally thought it might have been trimmed after I had it in hand. I bought it raw on eBay. I had submitted two copies in the order (which I will show the other one off as well). I have another raw copy to submit sometime in the future. With the way the world is though, I might actually submit some moderns next time. 'might' Comic Description: Crime SuspenStories 15 2-3/53 E.C. Comics Grader Notes: light creasing to cover light pieces out to cover moderate spine stress lines to cover moderate wear all corners of cover moderate wear all edges of cover
  18. Captain America 45. Originally I had picked this up in a Comiclink Auction where it was slabbed in a PGX holder and rolled the dice on it. It 'looked' good... so... kept my fingers crossed that there would be no restoration. Original Grade? PGX 4.5 - New Grade - 3.5. The book went down a full grade from PGX but that is probably due to how CGC views tape these days. To be. honest. I think Joe did an exceptional job and there is no one I would trust GA books with more. Comic Description: Captain America Comics 45 3/45 Timely Comics Grader Notes: light pieces out to cover light spine stress lines to cover light tears to cover moderate foxing to cover staple detached front cover tape cover tape interior cover very light bindery tears to cover
  19. All of the books... ASM 23 went from a 7.5 to an 8.5. Side note... I had not realized when I submitted it that if you ask for the Spider-man label it counts as a separate order. So... separate order means separate shipping charge. Either way, this is my favorite ASM cover in the Ditko run and I have a few of these books. I have a 9.0 for the set... but it's the 8.5 that has the Spider-man label which is kind of cool. Comic Description: Amazing Spider-Man 23 4/65 Marvel Comics Grader Notes: light creasing to cover light spine stress lines to cover very light wear all corners of cover
  20. In non-pandemic years, I see them all the time. All the time. They are actually very, very good. They have a performance license to play at Penn Station and other train and subway systems. http://web.mta.info/mta/aft/muny/musicians.html Two other favorites of mine are Tin Pan - I actually bought one of their CDs as well, and nothing stops you in your tracks (no pun intended) at Penn Station than a crowd singing Beatles songs. And... special shoutout to the Xylopholks... I both love and hate NYC at the same time - Carry on with the sales thread. Sorry for interrupting... I am watching.
  21. So, how are we sure that this is Dupcak and not someone else that is also trimming books?
