  1. You should tell her what people are willing to pay for my older worn out shoes.
  2. Around 500 people... eh... That's 1.7% ? The vehicle cost $350... it might stand out as representing the Mandalorian but I am guessing that they were hoping it would stick around a bit longer. However! Those numbers do not reveal how many of those ships were extras that people were hoping to flip. Perhaps people were sticking with it in the hopes that they could flip one here and there. There are reports of people buying multiple copies. I have a barge and it does sit in the back of my mind that maybe I should have bought two as the resale for that. eBay is showing aftermarket sales of around $1350-$1900. There is an attraction to buying multiples but perhaps you had a group of people cancel 500 orders between them after seeing the ship blow up and getting cold feet about tying their money up in the multiples they bought. I don't think you will see much of a further drop though. It is a solid toy and a great ship. Part of me regrets not getting it but I have other things on display in the basement that I would not want to put away to make way for. (BMF Falcon)
  3. Fed Ex again... signed for my dad's medication on their own and left it at the wrong house (at a neighbor's this time)... and things like this were going on before the pandemic.
  4. I still have my copy of Whitman Road Runner which was the first comic I was ever given. However, I remember the GI Joe comics as I had seen commercials for the comics and on a trip to Toys R Us I remember my mom saying you can get a GI Joe figure with your allowance or the comics but you are not getting both. I also remember hiding the figure and sneaking off on my bike to buy it a few days later.
  5. I held off on awarding pernts because I figured they would clean and reopen the old thread. However, pernts have now been awarded. It was a really ridiculous thing to get that thread shut down. I was following it from the sidelines and was disappointed. I am curious to see how it plays out.
  6. @bentbryan @Ares I just checked the preorder numbers and there have been cancellations for the vehicle. At one point it was up to around 28,800 preordered units. It is now down to 28,278 https://hasbropulse.com/products/star-wars-the-vintage-collection-razor-crest Let's see what happens.
  7. I disagree with this... (Silvermane's comment that movie theaters need to return) @Bosco685 do you recall an exchange we had a month( or two?) ago regarding that perhaps the shutdown would be great for movies because it would force them to scale back? If movies cannot continually get 'bigger' then that opens the doors for a lot of new material. The Mandalorian is showing us that you can put on an epic mini movie each week for Disney+. So you can have a big epic narrative on a streaming platform. Also, whenever you are committing a big box office budget it is a gamble and while I love me some RDJ Iron Man, it is less risky to launch these characters and try out new things on a smaller screen. A few months ago, I figured movie theaters would remain closed. Now I am actually hoping that theaters remain closed as this will force movie studies to think outside the box and abandon the cookie cutter things they have been doing over the years. Sure there are innovative ideas still coming out of Hollywood. However, the rug has been pulled out from under them and now they have to reinvent themselves to stay viable. Let's see what happens. And hey, I could easily be wrong.
  8. Mandalorian seems to be more tied into the last episodes in the revival of the Clone Wars and all four seasons of Rebels. Ezra is introduced in Season 1 (who I assume will be introduced at the end of the season and become a major player in Season 3 of the Mandalorian) Ahsoka is reintroduced in the last episode or two of Season 1 of Rebels Thrawn is introduced in the first episode of Season 3 There is a WHOLE LOTTA Jedi mysticism stuff that it looks like Filoni is going to gravitate toward especially after Ahsoka sent him to the rock to commune with the force. There were a lot of sites like that in Rebels and in some episodes of the Clone Wars that will probably flesh the story out even more.
  9. Oh definitely... did you at least watch the last season that brought back Ahsoka on Disney+ ? You would really like that. They wrote those episodes knowing that their would be a strong adult viewership.
  10. Try to introduce him to Rebels where an older Captain Rex is a hero throughout the last couple of seasons.
  11. I saw that and I get hopeful... then I see the Hasbro team say this and I am broken down again... https://toy-wizards.com/2020/12/04/g-i-joe-classified-repaints-and-more-on-the-way-for-2021/?fbclid=IwAR3lnDC3lt8DihXZZeq5nqoY8dBUXRFDVKRB0p3CxHr30RSY1vbLE4mlqGQ Hasbro did not anticipate such a demand for GI Joe figures. This is problematic on a few fronts. As you know, toy lines are planned out at least a year to a year and a half from their impending release date. These lines were planned and ordered in numbers pre-covid-shutdown. Now many collectors have assumed that people were buying the new GI Joe figures to hoard, scalp and sit on. Turns out there are far less out there than people realized. That means that Hasbro did not anticipate the demand and did not produce the demanded quantity to tie into their IN HOUSE intellectual property. This leads us to two scenarios. Glass half full: Covid-19 might have saved GI Joe by delaying this movie. GI Joe is a very different animal than a lot of toy lines. GI Joe NEEDS successful media to thrive. The property will sell to the collectors, for sure. However it needs successful media to grow the fanbase. It could be because they are war toys. It could be because they are humans with accessories that do not have a video game... it doesn't matter exactly why. GI Joe is not Transformers where kids will gravitate to a big robot with a gun that can be turned into their favorite Jet fighter or car. If the GI Joe movie is delayed, that gives Hasbro the opportunity to quickly restock the shelves and order a second wave of production using existing molds. Now, that is what it looks like they are doing, as they announced they are revisiting the first wave of figures with new paint apps. Glass half empty: Hasbro just cannot get it together and while they might be able to fix the product support for this movie, they clearly do not know their own property as they continually bungle almost every line they have in the 'boys toys aisle' except for Transformers and Marvel. (Star Wars is getting much better but unless you preorder you are not finding anything of interest on the shelves that a kid can point to with fascination and take it home.) We will see... I want to be a glass half full guy here but Hasbro has been showing me since around 2008 why the betting line should drift toward glass half empty.
  12. Tough decision... if you feel that Bisbee is the Arizona version of Williamsburg, Brooklyn, consider whether or not you want to be the first person that sells. Because if you say no he will indeed build it somewhere else, however the gamble is that others will follow and offer more than he is. I remember certain families celebrating an offer of $400,000 for their Williamsburg home only to find that thr neighbors they left behind were offered $1.5 million a few years later. NY board members that know the area won’t be surprised by these numbers. For those that are, take a look at Williamsburg Brooklyn real estate even in this market.
  13. So here is one prize available... Lego A-Wing Fighter - More forthcoming
  14. Crosses you off the list of people who get things if I get hit by a bus. @jaybuck43 - please change the Strange Adventures comics out for some Marvel Star Comics: Fraggle Rock or something...
  15. At no point were you yelled at. In fact I was going to ask if you could teach me a better way. If you would not mind, I would like to send you the data sheet at the end and see how you would improve it. The sheet that I am keeping track on has the 'realized' scores so that definitely comes into play. So since the lowest score demonstrates the lowest absolute deviation from the grades if anything hits a "0" it shows that someone nailed all the grades. I never yelled at you. I am actually asking you, if you do not mind to help me build a better mouse trap.
  16. Oh there was a freak out but not toward you. It was toward myself. When you posted that and I saw different numbers, I truly thought that I had screwed up. So, I ran the numbers back and forth to make sure I was covering every angle. But I am not extremely proficient in excel as I know a lot of people around these parts use it way more than I do. So I was running the numbers to make sure that I myself got it right. I promise... no ill intent in that post. And what do you mean with the showing the total on the X amount? I am very open to suggestion when it comes to excel.
  17. Not about this you're not Not even @PeteFromPetesBasement knows what grades the books received and he asked me through text. Now, if anyone wants to know why I often tag him, it's because I have known Pete for many years before we were on the CGC boards. He logs on once in awhile so I imagine there being something fun about him logging on to find a mountain of alerts.
  18. Well keep in mind, you never know... maybe one of the grades went down.
  19. Side note: It always interests me to see which books have the most "bullseyes" in that people got the exact grade.
  20. Thanks ! No... if the book is a 9.0 and you guess 8.5 then you are .5 off. If you guess 9.2 then you are off by .2. Therein lies the risk.
