  1. Nah... once you pass the $5000 mark in PayPal you become invested in seeing that number grow. I let all that money stay in there for a year and a half and then it all recently paid for a complete bath remodel and new plumbing through the house. BTW thanks to everyone here and on eBay and Facebook for building my bathroom.
  2. There are two people here that know his name but they have not said anything.
  3. And SGC... I am interested in if it is worth transferring the Jordan rookie to a PSA holder. How does SGC currently rate against PSA and Beckett?
  4. Oh there is no doubt in my mind that this will be cancelled. However, I am more concerned with making sure I maintain my status and get my pro badge for next year.
  5. I guess this is now public so I will get ahead of it. https://forum.cbcscomics.com/topic/12311/page/1/recall-the-ditko-package-on-sale-here-last-year-seller-forged-sigs--cgc/ When Mr Sigs alerted us over here that he was trying to sell Ditko stuff last year, I made sure that the admin over there was aware of what he did here and sent them links to everything. They also looked into things and have banned him for life over there. This was especially concerning when he had submitted books through their verification system. As I explained to @Poekaymon and judging by the poll results so far, this is one of those cardinal sins in this hobby.
  6. I had to go digging... so I am hoping one of you guys could school me... I am under the idea that PSA is still top dog... where does Beckett rank? Where does SGC rank? I attended a sports card show almost ten years ago at Hofstra University where SGC was doing on site grading. I brought my Jordan card with me. Is it best left in an SGC holder? Is it best transferred to PSA? Wait for CGC? The other Jordan card was considered a rookie card of sorts at some point as it was printed in 85. Also is pressing still a thing with cards? How will CGC take note of that?
  7. I have a few cards that I had graded by SCG when they were grading cards in person at Hofstra University around 10 years (?) ago. I would consider sending my Jordon rookie to CGC but I would want to see how they compare to PSA.
  8. This was discussed for a few days prior to the poll as to whether or not he should be named in the HoS. This is not something that has been taken lightly over the years as the last time such an event happened was around three years ago. This was something that was HoS worthy and not PL worthy because it does not just impact the the two buyers who were refunded, or the local community of the boards. Aliens has run sales threads before, on eBay, and on the CBCS boards of Lee and Ditko signatures. It throws into question every sale that he has ever made and raises suspicion that there may be more fakes out there. Over on the CBCS thread that Mr Sigs linked us to after this poll was created, he sold something called the Ditko Package explaining that he was in contact with someone 'in the know' with that book who claimed that Ditko did randomly sign a few of them as a 'lucky find'. Let's assume that is true. Who is to say that he has not duplicated that signature on other copies? The problem with forgery in the collectables field is that once a shadow of doubt is cast upon the dealer because they were caught knowingly dealing with fakes, it no longer becomes a question of, "What is faked and what is not?" You kind of now have to assume that everything in front of you is a possible fake and that the question now is, "Which fake is better than the other?" Hopefully, and I honestly mean this, I hope that CBCS did not verify any signatures that have come from him. Major companies that authenticate and grade have been duped before. CGC with the microtrimming from years ago comes to mind as well as AFA comes to mind with the MOC Star Wars figures that came out of England.
  9. I am curious as, "the new guy" as to your thoughts on the whole matter. Is this guy someone that could be forgiven? Is this someone that should be trusted for people to do business with on the boards?
  10. I am sure you are aware as you were reciting what was an obvious quote. I am telling you that if you are raising an eyebrow at those, then check out the rest of what he said in all of his posts.
  11. Now there are three. One of those no votes was from someone who said they clicked the wrong button. They volunteered that information. is the poll supposed to be public or private @crassus @skypinkblu? I forgot so on the side of caution I made it private.
  12. His words... read the screen caps of his posts for full effect.
  13. I edited that out. I am pretty sure he originally admitted to that but that is what he may have changed when he later edited it out in one of his responses concerning what happened in the FS thread.
  14. No need to apologize... I misunderstood... Just back inside after doing more work in the yard and I did not process it right. I am the one owing you and apology.
  15. Seriously? Yeah I will keep that in mind the next time that someone confesses to fraud and at around midnight I write it all up. You are wrong about the second part if you read the general discussion thread where it was discussed by quite a few people over the course of a few days.
  16. Pretty much... but I would always suggest calling to see what they are doing for each event. Some things might have changed since McFarlane. The only signing opportunity that I am considering taking part of is the Skottie Young event. With that said, I would consider the remarque. Now, since the remarque is character general but not pose specific, it is left to Young to decide exactly how he wants to draw and pose the character on the cover of what you are sending him. For something like that, I want Young to decide where he wants to work. If I take part in that, I will not be sending down the book in a window bag. At least that is my reasoning.
  17. They were already slabbed but were blue labels. I prefer to have them crack books. I had asked about raw books as there was one raw copy I was planning on sending down as well. They told me over the phone that it would be treated like a slabbed book and that they would process it / window bag it for the $5. Another board member, Seanfingh had told me that guys like McFarlane know where to sign though so it would not be a problem.
  18. Exactly, I should have added to my original post that they do even want people creating their own window bags for yellow label books because the second you crack the slab the SS label is negated.
  19. Chris Evans signature on a modern photo variant of the Avengers cast is more desirable than Evan's signature on a GA cap. To be honest, I am one of the people that will pass right on by a GA book signed by Evans even at 3/4 GPA. However, I would probably pay a premium for Evans signature on the photo variant cover Cap. The below is currently on Amazon. To be honest, I think that is pretty cool. If all of those signatures were on a GA book, I would keep walking. There is no association between the signature and the book.
