  1. They are also common when someone has a paypal balance in their account buy does not want to use it and opts to do a bank transfer instead.
  2. Excuse me... I found it... I was wrong... 3 for $2 - They were definitely better than VF. I just undergrade blowout stuff so there is no grade dispute since they are available for so cheap anyway.
  3. Some have moved on to other things... always looking for fresh blood to up our team score...
  4. I was almost going to include the Hidden Fortress / Star Wars connection as a Space Western... I still have to see Yojimbo... which is odd since I view the Dollars trilogy as some of the finest Western films ever made.
  5. There is some merit to this though. The average comic book does not provide thought provoking entertainment. However, as video games become more sophisticated there is a leg to stand on when discussing video games vs comics books in regards to value for dollar. There are kids getting into comic books, that much is certain. However they are not getting into them the way that we did as kids and really... why should they? An entire story arc of six issues can be translated into a movie costing the viewer almost half of what they would spend on the comics. An average video game is still $60 providing hours of entertainment. The average comic book is $4. This means that you could spend that money on 15 comics instead. This translates to 15 x 7 minute reads? 15 x 10 minute reads? (105-150 minutes) This does not provide as much entertainment as the kids would get from the video game. While many video games are mindless entertainment drains, there are many that are engaging and require higher thinking skills. But I am starting to see that video games are not the main competitor to comics. Kids themselves are. No matter how compelling your story can be, today's social media and video on your iPhone allow the user to become their own compelling story. Why would a kid read someone else's Spider-man story when they can create their own story and act it out or perform for the camera on their iPhone?
  6. There was this guy once that said he was going to remake the Seven Samurai but adapt it for US audiences. That was pretty funny wasn't it? We usually don't know how good a movie is until after it has completed it's box office run. Then there are some movies that we do not realize are great until after they have already left the movies and have been replayed one hundred times a week on TBS like the Shawshank Redemption.
  7. - I remember selling these for $1 each when I was getting rid of dealer overstock. They sat and then I eventually lowered it to 50 cents each... Oh well. @ADAMANTIUM - I sold them here on the boards at that price !
  8. You will do well here. Welcome to the boards. Anyway... @Chuck Gower, tag you are in. Apparently I am not worthy of being responded to.
  9. I don't know that it fractured the fan base. I believe in the money and I see that the money supports the idea that it is a minority opinion that is extremely vocal but a minority opinion at that. As far as Luke losing his faith? He is a made up character. It happens all the time. Like I said, my friend served a religious order for well over ten years. He went in right after high school and then he was (I am a little unfamiliar with the terminology) a "baby" Brother (as we called him.) He had to go to college and religious school before they allowed him to take his vows. He did so and then served for 10 years. Then... as he says it, he lost his faith. He questioned his faith and left the order and will be getting married in a couple of weeks. People lose their faith in their belief system all the time. At the end of the day, Luke did not have the support system about him as he was the only "jedi". He eventually questioned everything and caved. Last Jedi, at least to me was about the redemption of Luke and that everyone can redeem themselves. Luke shows the viewer that no matter how hard you fall you can still get up. There is HOPE... which has always been the theme of the Star Wars saga above anything else. Movies are funny things, We all take things out of them that others may not or experience them. I liked TLJ because it was a film and not a movie. I very much enjoyed it for the reasons stated above. At the end I turned to my friend and said, "If they were to end the entire series right there it would be perfect." He agreed. @jsilverjanet Always asked me why I enjoyed TLJ... I never got around to answering it fully but this is a part of the reason why.
  10. Sucked - First of all this is a "all audience" board for all age levels. We do not say "sucked". Please use the term, "preformed like a vacuum." Chewbacca - Chewbacca inherits the Falcon. Chewbacca was the driver that brought Rey to the island. Luke needed to see any of his old friends to bring him back to reality. Leia is off doing leader things, 3PO is not getting about the island. When Luke sees Chewie that is when the death of Han hits home. I feel that Force Awakens was painfully weak as far as advancing the story line. Force Awakens made me appreciate the Prequels even more. I like what Johnson did. Luke is a man that is lost in his faith. A friend from high school studied to become a religious brother. He remained in the order for 10 years and things happened and he is getting married in a couple of weeks. Luke is a man who lost his faith and had to reclaim himself. I liked what Johnson did with this movie. Lightsaber Duels - Johnson wanted to do something different. I have seen lightsaber duels and this was something fresh. I actually enjoyed this as I have seen something like this in the Clone Wars cartoon but never in the live action films. Believe me that I am by no means a Star Wars fanboy. There are issues with every movie. However, the constant, Star Wars 8 has ruined it for everyone? Bah. I personally know a LOT of kids that loved every second of it and it encouraged them to watch the others. Star Wars 8 succeeded. It made ridiculous money. They will continue making more.
  11. Finding a swivel arm Scarlett is turning into a task but I can be patient. I am making a checklist and going through everything I remember having as a kid and comparing it against what I still have.
  12. Seems to be the same across the board. I do not recall anyone having any issues with replacement rubber bands on any figures... Just always be careful when installing it so you do not crack T-Bar hook that connects the lower legs to the abdomen.
  13. Hm... woke up this morning and had a thought... I think I want some more of my O-Ring GI Joes back. After looking at the one's I saved, I still remain adamant about not buying MOC or AFA graded samples. A couple of the ones I saved are 'floppy' for lack of a better word. Their rubber bands definitely need to be replaced.
  14. At one point... birds... Then I decided that the birds needed to go. The birds went.
  15. That's a pretty obscure request. You may have to buy another MIP sample to accommodate that request.
  16. It was a lovefest and many of us blocked the buyer.
  17. Still don't have anyone on ignore. Occasionally, even the most annoying have some words of wisdom. One argument that does not seem to die is the Star Wars debates and anything involving DC movies.
  18. http://copperagecomics.com/keys.html 9.8 copies of GI Joe 21 are always key books. I have a 9.6 and a 9.4 SS. As much as I want a 9.8 I am happy for now. The 9.8 has always eluded me. Turtles 1 is king though in this age group.

  20. I have purchased a ridiculous amount of Plastic Crack in the last couple of weeks with all of these eBay codes... Tonight was no different. $85 - 15% for $72.25 and shipping was included in that price. These club figures aren't cheap.
  21. Cannot agree any more with this than I already do. Those angry that Star Wars ruined their childhood need to seriously reevaluate their childhood.
