  1. eBay handle: oggyluky11 Purchased a FunkoPop and asked to cancel it as his girlfriend picked one up for him after he purchased and paid for it from my friend's account. (I am guiding him through eBay) Order cancelled, money refunded, telling the tale here.
  2. This has happened before and CLink has always made good to make everyone whole to the best of their ability.
  3. Stop making fun of my face it is a common facial affliction... I mean look at this poor guy.
  4. Extra points when Larry Hama himself posts your commissions on his facebook page.
  5. Probably from some video game or something. I am going to go out on a limb here and say it has something to do with a cartoon from Japan. I find that is always the answer when I see a costume of something I am unfamiliar with.
  6. You found it disturbing? I looked at them point blank and asked if they arrived in a van marked "free candy" on the side.
  7. Okay... I have a doctor's appointment and then I will come back later for some follow up commentary. Hope you enjoyed the pics and thanks to those who commented and liked.
  8. This last item was something that is not normally in my wheelhouse. I wanted something that screamed amazing, cool, Japanese toy, but higher end... This fit the bill. I checked that internet thingy like I do with all my purchases at shows and Blue Fin had the best price around for a brand new copy. Blue fin was clearing it out at $55. Lego Spider-man included for scale.
  9. I picked this up from Superworld Comics... Figured I had to pick up at least one book at NYCC... figured we would go old school this year. As always, Superworld was easy to work with and I was able to come to a price that both Ted and I were happy with for the book. I am very pleased to add another GA Action Comics into my collection. The cover is also a classic in my opinion.
  10. Jeremy Haun did a commission for me a few years ago and really went above and beyond with what he did. Very nice of him and simply due to that, I like to see what he is up to in the industry. I kept that commission by the way and display in my commissions folder over on CAF. Anyway, I always check out what he is currently doing... here is a synopsis for the book. It seemed interesting and one that I will check out. https://imagecomics.com/content/view/seth-m.-peck-jeremy-haun-launch-the-realm-an-all-new-post-apocalyptic-high
  11. I was glad to get this guy. As a kid Hammerhead always fascinated me. At first I thought he was a bounty hunter then over the years I found out he was a lovable garden tending freedom fighter. Now he will guard an unused coffee cup somewhere in the house or in the cabinet.
  12. For a sketch there was a lot of detail as can seen by the carry bar in Stalker's backpack. He said he always get's asked for Snake Eyes and actually enjoys doing other characters. Me? I was very happy. I know I posted this but he also asked me to hold them up and take a picture so I will post it again. He then took pics for his FB page as he liked the finished product.
  13. Speaking of Larry Hama... I was number 21 and 22 on the list. I asked permission to fill in two slots. I say it every year. Larry Hama is one of the more under appreciated artists in that con room. $40 a sketch is a steal since he created that whole universe. Funny aside... he had the following written on his board, "I will not draw Serpentor or Cobra La." First image was of Clutch - this was the first GI Joe figure I ever owned. I still have it actually and the VAMP he came with. Hama said he really liked the way that Clutch came out.
  14. BTW... Special shoutout to Hotflips If there is one thing I hate doing is lugging an art binder around with me aside from my usual messenger bag. It is a great convenience that if I buy a piece of art on the fly or a print, that if it does not come with it, I can run over to Hotflips and pick up a toploader to put it in later. They have everything you need that you forgot at home or even forgot you needed to have an enjoyable time at the con. I sold a couple of comics and realized I needed CGC bags... where did I go? Hotflips. The two Larry Hama sketches came in protective sleeves but I wanted something a little more rigid for transport... where did I go? Hotflips.
  15. The Skottie Young Spider-man was what I REALLY wanted... but after the Spider-man sold out, I noticed that some areas were also sold out of Groot... I picked up two of these by the Reed booth. One is going to a friend. I may keep this one to leave on the couch. It was freaky looking and pretty cool. BTW... $200 for a Skottie Young sketch but $500 if that sketch is going to CGC... yeah... okay. More on that later.
  16. I always swore I would never do prints... go after the original art or put the money into the art I was always advised... Then I saw this. This was a piece where I would never own the original art so I took the print for $10. On top of that this is going in the bathroom. I have a bathroom that is kind of drab... so I wait for sales on decent frames at Michaels and then I add these to the bathroom. You really wouldn't know how heavily I enjoy this geekdom thing of ours since there really isn't much in the vein of comic related materials around the house or even on the shelves. Anyway... while I put money into other areas of the house (gave a facelift to the kitchen with me redoing the cabinets and I had a new floor and walls put in) the bathroom is not a priority... So let's make it like Metropolis' Bathroom and hang stuff up. There are some pics of Yankee stadium, a replica War Bonds advertisement and some pics of Ruth, DiMaggio, and other baseball players. Figured I would add this as well as the three lobby cards in the next post. Look at the menu and other areas of the image for references to Simon, Kirby, Stan, Chris Evans, Hailey Atwell, and Sebastian Shaw. Hey, who is the guy behind the counter? Image is 11x17
  17. Maybe I do not get the collectibility of Funkos. I see them as the next Beanie Babies and that might not be so good. I hope that they can sustain themselves as I do like them... With that said, I have no problem scalping the bejeezus out of them. Let's crunch the numbers on how easy it is to turnover Funkos. I split the lottery ticket with a friend. Each Funko was $15 each. I am only going to provide numbers on what my share of the Funko loot was. (For example, while I took the Foot Clan he received the Statue of Liberty, James Gunn and other "valuable" figures) I wanted to get some cash for these and flip them immediately. Out of all the figures that I picked up, I am only keeping Golden Age Superman. He was too cool to pass on to someone else. 8 Bit 5 Member Foot Clan: SOLD on eBay for $345 Jaqen H'ghar: SOLD on eBay for $60 Green Power Ranger: Sold on eBay for $50 Scrooge McDuck: Sold on eBay for $25 Speedy Gonzales: Sold on eBay for $105 Superman: Keeping Destro: Offered on eBay - Has not sold yet ($20) Abominable Snowman: Offered on eBay - Has not sold yet ($130) Investment into this? $180 eBay sales? $585 - eBay fees (Buyer paid shipping) (Too early to do all this math stuff) Keep in mind that if the other two sell today that is an extra $150 Point is... when we talk about the comic market's sustainability this is insane right here. Hey.... not going to lie. I was more than happy to collect some cash. However, these are vinyl figures manufactured to be collectible. Maybe it is me but I am not really seeing it. The few that I actually have I have opened with two minor exceptions. I have the first Stan Lee NYCC figure which I kept in the box only because it was marked NYCC and I felt that was key to the presentation. I also have a Bob Ross, Vito Coreleone and Mick Foley in the box which are minor and readily available figures... just because it's part of the presentation. Anything else... like the Forbidden Planet robot and Spider-man that is in front of me at my desk is out of the box. Anyway... Here is the one I am keeping...
  18. Okay... let's show off some Loot.... Gotta take some pics... First I will do the Funkos.
