  1. There you go with generalizations again. Speaking for myself, I actually wear jeans, a non-comic related t-shirt (usually solid actually) a hoodie and a baseball cap. I usually cannot bother to wait in lines for 'celebrity' autographs.
  2. And so... the new (old / original) Falcon has been revealed. Spoiler alert - from Lego...
  3. Please don’t get this thread locked ? until sometime after 7 or 8. ?
  4. Hopefully this thread is still here by the time I get home.
  5. Over the holidays I went to see Phish two more times this years bringing my total to 5 shows seen at MSG. This year Phish did 17 shows at the garden calling it 17 in '17 for the NYE run. This poster marked that event. When I saw the notification of the release, I tried to score a copy but failed as there was a print run of only 1,000. Well... that's what eBay is for. It came in the mail a little while ago and I immediately had it framed. The poster is 18" by 24" without the frame. This is the comic book one. Don't know where I am putting it yet but it will be the third one hanging in the house. The first poster was framed for the kitchen featuring a Jones Beach scene that blends in well as it is a beach scene amid a Long Island and beach themed kitchen. This was the 2009 comeback poster at the beach. The second poster was framed after I was scolded by my mom for not having a picture of grapes in the house. Apparently it was customary in every house my family has owned to have a picture of grapes hanging somewhere. I never noticed... I mean I drink the wine and there is a lot of that over here.. so I hung a Phish concert poster that featured the wineries of Long Island in the dining room. This was the 2010 Jones Beach poster. The third poster to make the cut to be framed was the NYE 2017 poster. It was structured in a comic book style. That will most likely go in the office when I feel like making another hole in the wall.
  6. I definitely agree with you on this. In the last month I picked up two Stan Signatures for much less than it would have cost me to do it myself. There is also one other thing I will add to your list that many leave out. In recent years, Stan's signature and signature placement skills have diminished. Yes, I know that he just turned 95. However, given the choice, would you rather have a smeared example of his signature or one that is clearly applied? Would you rather have his signature covering Captain America's head or in the blank space under the shield? Lately I am seeing a LOT of weird Stan signatures on books. I doubt the owners would have chosen a sig placement like this. I like to go shopping for my Stan signatures.
  7. If I had two wishes that I could wish for this holiday season, the first would be for all the children of the world to join hands and sing in the spirit of harmony and peace.. and the second would be for $30 million a month to be given to me, tax-free in a Swiss bank account.
  8. Hm... Item 1 - ASM 39 CGC 4.0 SS - Signed by Stan Lee and John Romita. While not the highest grade out there, I always wanted a classic Spider-man book signed by both of these giants. I do not have any comic books on display in my house except this book which resides in the cabinet. I have the 9.0 for my ASM set but THIS is the book I want on display. Purchased this April. Item 2 - Raiders of the Lost Ark 1 Page 19 - This was the most I ever spent on a page of art and I may have even gone higher. I don't care about the artist when I buy art which is why I usually don't spend a lot. I go after characters and scenes. This however, probably one of the proudest pieces in my collection. I have things that are worth more... I have things that are worth less that are on display but this piece makes me smile. I loved these movies and to have the opportunity to own the 'running from the boulder' page was one I could not pass up. I was getting ready to make a big purchase a few months later and if it was not for two boardies alerting me to this page's availability, I do not think I would have gotten it let alone known about it. This turned out to be the first page of art that I felt was time to get framed. It hangs in front of my desk. Purchased this February. Item 3 - Home - I needed a place to hold my comics and nonsense. When my grandmother passed away last year, she told my mom and my aunt to offer her house to me so I could live on Long Island. After some negotiations with my Aunt I finally have a place on Long Island to keep my stuff. Since April I have been selling more than I have been buying but less is more and I do have a place to keep my stuff. Purchased this April.
  9. Tec 27 - 37 would be nice. Action 1-25 would be fun Captain America Comics Full Run would be amazing. The thought did cross my mind once to see off my entire ASM collection to pick up a Cap 1 but I would rather keep the ASM's
  10. I don't think you understand... At that point I have no needs. I'm dead. Buzz (always the optimist) etta
  11. I have this feeling that no matter what I say that people are just going to argue. I will say this. I have stated this before... (a year ago if not longer) that I rank the Force Awakens the lowest on the list. I still want my $15 back for that. After seeing TLJ, I STILL rank TFA as the lowest SW movie on my list.
  12. Buy ten or more for $1.75 each. Last call then they go to eBay, Amazon, Half.com and anywhere else. I could use the money for my Festivus Party. Buzzetta will be beholden to no one.
