  1. For your consideration: kit11670 Bought a $140 transformer on May 29th. Said it would arrive between June 20-27. It never arrived. July 1st - Called eBay to see if there was something I missed and that it was on its way since it was coming from another country. July 1st - I opened an item not received and asked for a tracking number or a refund July 6th - No response - so I messaged the seller again July 7th - Seller said that I had to have signed for it and that no one was home to receive it. July 7th - I asked for a tracking number again to prove that statement which was met with no response. July 8th - I escalated the claim seeking my refund. Just got my $140 back.
  2. How much is practically nothing and how difficult are these to acquire? Smurfs comics have been a lifelong love of mine. One of my first comics was King Smurf and I currently follow the Smurfs Anthology comics. Is there really no market for it or people just don't know about it? It's not easy to find. I can't seem to find one on the interweb. But I'd think if you describe it well enough smurf collectors would find it and pay for it. Frankly, I'd buy it. I only have two copies of the first Smurfs and I have been looking for low priced decent conditions for a couple of years. There are several problems. Most of these copies are found in Europe Most of the end times for these auctions end at around 6-10pm during whatever time zone the European nation is located in I missed another auction that ended at 3am.
  3. Lego Star Wars Force Awakens > Star Wars Battlefront (latest incarnation) Traveller's Tales does it again... 1000 Achievement Points and 100% Completed btw... Now let's see what that season pass brings...
  4. I've never been to one. If they were to come to NYC again I would check it out. I always get the feeling that I am better off attending these shows from afar. I join the collector club each year for the opportunity to get the exclusives as a non attendee and their FSS which is pretty good actually. Factor in the hotel and travel expenses and I can wait for a NYC show sometime down the road. Incidentally, Fun Publications found out a couple of weeks before the show that Hasbro was willing to renew their contract for another two years into 2018. Hasbro TM'd the word "Hasbrocon" and did not renew the Transformers or GI Joe license. Someone must have realized that Hasbro is a couple of years away from organizing something at the level that Fun Publications has been doing, so they relented and allowed FP to do their thing while Hasbro organizes their stuff for 2019. This means that there will be a FSS 5 and FSS 6.
  5. I've seen this. This book is the inspiration behind my idea to get Mark Texeira to sign a baseball and to bring a CGC witness to a Steiner meet and greet and have Mark Teixeira sign a comic book.
  6. Also... I've been selling off a bunch of things, throwing things out and even giving some stuff away. I had to buy this though... Joecon Freefall from the Parachute drop... This one was the actual one I bought off the bay. It was produced using Hasbro tooling in relation with the JoeCon Fan Publications Collector Club. It is a limited edition and yes, the parachute attaches to the figure and actually works
  7. Just recounted one of my favorite Joe stories over in CG in what is probably a thread that will be scrubbed... Thought I would share it here as well. Larry Hama's GI Joe: A Real American Hero and Special Missions > 1950's War Comics. BTW... if you go back and take a look 1950's War Comics (the boardie) there were some very interesting subjects that came up in Hama's run. Special Missions 2 instantly comes to mind when the Government sends the Joes to Argentina to retrieve the sequence code to disarm poison gas located on a plane buried in the ice in Greenland. The former SS officer will hand over the codes to disarm the gas if the Joes protect the SS officer from an Israeli Nazi hunting team and allow the SS officer to receive sanctuary in the US. The Joes are ordered to disarm the gas and protect the SS Officer from the Nazi Hunters. How does it turn out? Read Special Missions 2 You just gonna leave us hangin'??? Geez. You must be one a them jerks this thread is talking about. Happy to oblige. While one Joe team is in Argentina, the other team in Greenland encounters Cobra who is looking to take the gas for themselves. The Joes quickly defeat Cobra (I am sure Hasbro wanted them in every comic somehow and they only make a fleeting appearance in this issue) and are able to disarm the gas on their own. While they are securing the area they come across the flight log from the wreckage and are able to deduce that the SS Officer betrayed the other Nazis on the plane and it's gold carrying escort by faking a malfunction and forcing the gold carrying plane to land and assist. After killing the crew of the gold carrying plane he flew off to Argentina. The SS officer cites that the Joes have orders to protect him from the Israeli's who are in the room with the Joes and the SS Officer's bodyguards (who make up the families of other SS officers who escaped to Argentina). Lance "Clutch" Steinberg explains the situation to everyone in the room and maintains that he will follow orders and keep the SS Officer safe from the Israeli's but says that the agreement does not reach so far as to protect him from the SS Officer's "own kind." Clutch walks off the compound with a thousand yard stare (excellent Trimpe pencils in this issue BTW) as you hear the gunshots in the background as the SS Officer meets his maker. Cover was by Zeck and one of his best if you ask me.
  8. Just proved the "everything is returnable" crowd wrong again. For your consideration: Block "grandviewresale" "hello! id like to return this game.. nothing wrong with it i just dont want it anymore ha ha" Buyer asks for a return. I call up eBay and ask, "Since when is buyer's remorse a reason for return?" They say it isn't and to write the buyer to tell them as such. Buyer opens a case against me and cites the fact that I offer 14 Day returns and that they wish to return it. I call up eBay. eBay and I argue. They say I have to accept the return. I go higher up the CSR food chain to a supervisor. We argue and I cite that eBay does not allow cancellation of bids for any reason other than "enter the wrong amount" or "unable to communicate with a seller" and even then does not allow cancellation of bids within a certain time limit of the auction or listing close. They also have a line that a bid is a contract and that buyer's remorse is outside the reasons for returning an item. I challenged them to uphold a seller's protection and to enforce their buyer's code for once. Also cited that I spoke to a CSR when the buyer initiated a complaint and that I was supposedly covered, and wrote the message to the buyer while the original CSR was on the phone with me. Told them to check their service login info and they will verify the timestamps. I also told them that eBay should reimburse me as the opportunity to sell this item to anyone else has been lost. If anyone else had bought a copy of the game using eBay since I sold my copy to a deadbeat that my copy could have gone to someone reputable. They told me to wait a day. I woke up and it was decided in my favor. Now some may ask, why argue over $14? Why? Because if this guy gets away with it at $14 then they try it with something of higher value. Besides, I had a half hour to kill on the train.
  9. Lucas to be executive produce and have a "creative role" in Indy V says Spielberg... Spielberg also admits that The Force Awakens is an homage to SW Episodes IV, V, VI. Buzzetta still says Spielberg can sugar coat it all he wants but that the Force Awakens performs like a vacuum and that the only Star Wars movies are Episodes 1-6. http://spinoff.comicbookresources.com/2016/06/21/spielberg-says-lucas-will-be-involved-creatively-in-new-indiana-jones-film/
  10. Spielberg vows not to kill off Indiana Jones at the end of Indy V http://www.hofmag.com/indiana-jones-5-updates-spielberg-says-ford-will-live-film/161052
  11. I have 18 years worth of these Dead Beat and Losers, you are only allowed up to 5,000 to Block, I always find this thread very helpful. Jeff, anyone ever come up to you at a show and ask, "Why did you block me?" If so I am hoping you asked them to pay for the previous item that they requested through eBay before you sold them anything new.
  12. I deleted the original post instead of editing... too much going on at once.. I basically did. Here is a screen cap of their response. I wanted to edit this in. They are annoyed I am going through the non-paying bidder route. I have to say... I am slightly enjoying this.
  13. You follow up on buyers of your items to see if they re sell it? Yes and no... When it comes to comics... I sometimes like to see if they have anything I like and in certain cases, I have picked up something from a buyer. This particular sale was in the case of jewelry. I could not identify the specifics so I put a general description of a particular piece into eBay notifications so I could get specifics on one of the pieces I was asked to sell. I am lazy and never edit out notifications which causes me to delete about 30 eBay email notifications each day. When I saw the notification for this particular piece I looked and saw it was the same person I sold it to. They were charging more. That I have no problem with. I have bought things on eBay only to receive it and flip it for a profit. However. I was very annoyed to see the reasoning behind the sellers increase in price. They decided to advertise it as 'new'. If someone wants to be scumbag and take items that are used and claim they are new for retail that is their business. I can choose not to have any part of it.
  14. There is nothing more entertaining than when someone buys something from me that I have listed as "used" (because it was used) then turns around and marks up the price and lists it as "new" deceiving potential bidders. Then they try to buy more from me, and cannot understand why on a second sale, I refunded their payment, I will not do business with them and block them. (I had not gotten around to blocking them after seeing them list the item I sold them, as I was on my phone.) Oh well, 1 - I have reported the listing 2 - Reported them as a buyer.
  15. I actually have a copy of this. However, if you are looking for more information about and surrounding the issue check out The Complete GI Joe Volume 2 I believe.
  16. It has a June 2016 release date. It may not show up on the shelves though until the very end of the month or the first week of July. It has already shown up on eBay though from overseas vendors so it is on the way. Lego Set 76058 for reference.
  17. It depends what you are doing with the pieces. There are many pieces that are designed for space but then later find use in other sets. I know of one of the modular designs that makes use of dark grey colored frogs and situates them upside down to incorporate as part of the design in models architecture. The Scooby Doo mystery machine van set utilizes angled bricks and slopes that were most commonly used originally for aircraft / spacecraft hull slopes. It's the beauty of Lego.
  18. Two lawn bags full of loose lego and nothing to do with them...
  19. Somewhere.... ...........out there.............. ..................Richie Muchin is laughing his behind off...................
  20. Beatles licensing is expensive. I am afraid as to what that set will cost. I am guessing that the Yellow Submarine will retail at $69.99.
  21. The real question is are there companies that still offer dial up services. I remember them back in the day. People trying to contact you on your phone could never get through. We got in a resume today and they had an AOL email address. Not a single person in the office thought they still existed.
  22. Lego is giving us the following properties in Lego Dimensions - The A-Team, ET (Yes the Alien), Sonic the Hedgehog and others... These will be very basic figure and mini vehicle sets. Also... Lego Ideas has come to decide on the next fan designed sets to be made into a retail product. Watch the video and what goes into it or select the spoiler: (One of the sets will be 1 meter tall)
