  2. who does your binding? Herring & Robinson 100 North Hill Dr., Unit #5 Brisbane, CA 94005 Phone: (415) 468-0440 Herring And Robinson Tell them that Jeff Hernandez sent you.
  3. Just got these in from my book binder today. This one is Chamber of Chills #1-25 This one is UXM #122-146 using Classic X-Men and TPBs
  4. I would like to retract my claim against Kenm as the books did arrive today.
  5. Yeah for Young All-Stars and Justice Machine. I also have the entire Deathwatch 2000 bound together into a hardbound novel. Great stuff. Same with the Young All-Stars and Justice Machine.
  6. I wasn't going to get into this anymore, but after this statement I have to. You state that "money for shipping was not an issue", yet, in a PM to me I quote you. "I have no paycheck this week due to the sickness so I got to get some funds. I'll make all this up to you eventually." It seems you are trying to use the fact that you offered the Teen Titans books to me for this oversight to justify some of this. Yes, it was a good gesture, but the main thing is that I paid for the books that I order plus around $7.00 in shipping. Then later I added the Teen Titans. I was willing to pay for these , but as a gesture you offered them for overlooking this. Then all of the other reasons kept coming up as to why they aren't getting being shipped yet. I could have withstood a couple of them, but I kept thinking of, "when will it all stop and I get my books?". Also, I don't want a refund. I want the books. I pay for what I agree to buy.
  7. The seller, kenm, has not delivered bought books, but always has some reason why not to send? I paid for some books on Sept 27, I followed up on Nov 11th. he said was sorry he missed me and would ship out. A week later I inquired about DC#. On Nov. 18th he said that he could not send me the books because he had been sick and had no money to mail them and would set up another sales thread to make money to pay for shipping (what happened to the money I paid for the shipping?). On Nov. 27th he said he will try to get out on the next Monday to ship. I emailed him yesterday and still have not heard from him.
  8. Thank you all for your concern. I got back into comic books to help keep me from going crazy. I call it my "therapy".
  9. You don't have weights, comic nerd! I'll make sure to specifically have the weights in the pictures once I do it. I'll bite: I was a very scrawny person (5'11" and only 120lbs) until last year when I found out that I have a fatty tumor smashing the nerves in my tailbone along with two herniated discs. My job is very physical and I was just tearing my body up from being too small and lifting too much in the wrong ways. The doctors forced me into exercise and weight training as part of my treatments. I've put on about 50lbs of muscle mass since August of last year. It's helping quite a bit, but I've still got a ways to go... Sounds like a new job is in order. I mean it's cool that you're in better health but this could only buy you time before your job starts bothering you again. Best of luck either way. You're exactly right, but financial reason have quite limited my options in that area. It's never stopped bothering me, but it's become more of an up and down thing now rather than just always horrid. The doctor's have made it quite clear that the tumor will most likely never go away and can't be removed, so from here on we can only try to slow the destruction of the discs and cover up the pain with pain management shots (not fun!). Sorry, this whole thing has been a bit In the 90's I was 190 lbs studying the martial arts, working a full time very physical job and selling comic books at shows and swapmeet weekends so always lifting the boxes up and down stairs. In 2002 I was diagnosed with degenerative disc in my lower spine. I got a desk job. 2007 7 discs now have this above my tailbone. 3 of them compressed to where one squeezed out like a grape. My discs are dying and has created stenosis, chronic siatica, etc. I am a mess. I am now on disability and in more chronic pain than I would wish on anybody. I now tell who ever I can to take care of their back as can get to a point you can't repair it.
  10. Some gems I found at Half Price Books last night -
  11. Went to a local convention today and picked up a few things. One was this. I love this show. And it is always good to check out the 50 cent - $1.00 bins where I found these -
  12. Wow - my copies are quite large compared to those. Are those the super rare Lilliput editions? I accidentally left them in my pants pocket and they shrank in the wash. .
  13. Yes, if the inside looks okay, then pulling off the bad covers and binding them together will make you a good looking graphic novel. The pictures that I put up of Ironman and Cap are from the reprint books "Double Feature". They turned out good.
  14. The company I go through does $16.50 for 2" thick books and that is usually 25 standard comics.
  15. That's sad to hear. The swap meet here has gone to the dogs. In the 90's you could sell just about anything as we are near an Army base and Air Force base. Now people are asking if you have 12 centers in you cheap bins and others think their dreck is gold. I have run across to many that don't want to pay the value of the good stuff and others who want to charge to much for books that you can get in quarter bins. .
  16. Hello all. About a month ago I traveled into Seattle to a storage unit where the owners were losing the unit so they were selling everything so they didn't have to move it. I was the first one there and picked up around 300 books for $80. Among them was the entire run of Secret Wars, entire run of Ms Marvel (missing one), run of Externals, run of Inhumans, 75% runs of Dr Strange vol 2, 75% run of Master of Kung Fu, X-men 266 & 267, 75% run of All-star Squadron, most of the Marvel Spectacular - Thor, and other. Almost all of them were from VF-NM. Here are some picture: Last weekend I got a long box of Moderns for $50 and around 40 Green Lanterns for $10. Again all were VF+/NM.
  17. Herring and Robinson in California. I have almost 70 books done and probably another 70 that I either have ready to send or am working on. Some of the older books I have been getting them in VG, taking the covers off because most of them are bad anyway, taking out all of the adds I can and getting them bound into my own graphic novels. This is a good way to put those grade of books to good use. Here are a couple that I did - This a good way for to be able to read the Tales of Suspense. Even reprinted the Sub-Mariner & Iron Man #1 and Iron Man #1. (Marvel Double Feature)
  18. Thank you. My wife bought that "Man Cave" plaque for me.
