Holy Canasta!

Hey BZ, do you have an Amazing Man 22?
-
Picked up this Crippen reading copy to go with my slabbed Chicago copy
What was up with Sahle? First off, you never tie a man to the propeller. Women only!

The whites! The whites were really white! OH...MY...God.......!

I thought I'd update my group shot before some go back to the bank. The MM3, from Rick, is the only restored book. The 30 is pretty sharp with white paper. 26 and 36 are a couple of my favorites. I hope you like?
Great group!

Girl has a nice outfit on.
Great book! I loved it when they pushed the envelope. didn't the parents even look at what their kids read?
-
Oh man....I'm going through BZ picture post withdrawal....bummer.
-
I think you scared him away.

The Rang A Tang story in the last issue, 22, was a wonderful, touching story. I won't give the story away in case we ever read it.
-
I don't own a single book that competes with one of these
I do! My Top-Notch #9 is better!
-
Anymore Top Notch Comics coming our way?
-
And you just know that he's saving the best for last....which could be weeks from now!
-
What are all those other books that are hanging around that nice Top Notch 9?
-
The only good thing about BR7, is the cover, which is great. The first issue to read is BR9, when Mr. Justice appears. 16 is another great one to read.

I think it's an amazing feat to hold on to a collection like that since 1973 and must indicate a stable life and a certain amount of willpower. I'd love to hear the full story some day.

Maybe we should get serious again so he'll post more comics. The doll house thing has my grandaughters excited but it doesn't do the thing for me.
My wife made it for our 3 year old and she likes it.
I thought it was cute, too.
I'm not paid entertainment so you're getting what you paid for.
This is the most fun I've had on these boards....so you're doing everything right as far as I'm concerned.

I can't decide if this thread makes me want to collect more GA comics...
or just give up and quit altogether. I have all my 40 or so low grade beaters carefully stored in double-bagged mylars, acid free boxes, dehumidified room. And here you are with a lottery winning-sized collection, books in stacks, and unbagged even!
You took the words right out of my keyboard. I'll never be satisfied with my piddly little collection, since this is the type of collection I've always daydreamed about having but never had the foreskin to aquire and hold.My collection looks like a small pile of poo now. Another obsession has run it's course. I think I'll start grafting rhodies. Can you imagine what my Black Hand will do the delicate plant tissue? BwaaHaahaahaa!
One would think after 4 years on the boards you'd have figured out the quote function.
I'm gonna blame it on Window's Vista and my new monitor and the color changes I made for these boards. I became frightened and confused from all the strange, new technology.

Okay guys... be reasonable. Who the hell is going to invite strangers over to view a multi million dollar collection? As the owner I'd be afraid of people casing the joint. I'd have to know them pretty well and even then I'd have to think about it.
hello all...
I did say once he got to "know" us....just over a month ago, a bunch of us met over at ciorac's house, and there were millions of dollars of comics in one room, all being shared for each others enjoyment...so, there is a precedent...admittedly, this group of folks have been "brothers" for a long time...but, it is possible !
rick
I hear you.... but that's just it, let's warm the poor guy up. This thread is reading like an awkward teenager jumping all over his girl in the first five minutes of the first date Although he seems to like it
I'd say it's more like a pack of floppy tongued dogs slobbering over a ten course meal. All pretense of dignity...gone.
Let's just roll with it, thank the guy for being a good sport and enjoy what he's so generously dishing up...okay? It's fun.

Too late, I've been invited!
Not! Actually, he just wanted to know if I would mow his lawn..
He mentioned something about cooler temperatures somewhere before I could see his comics. Maybe next winter!
-
If he invites me for a visit, I'll help bag and board them...if that's something he thinks should be done.
