  1. I always thought this back cover was proof Tom Hiddleston is an immortal vampire
  2. Great standalone issue. Old fashioned done-in-one
  3. I agree with a previous poster; the venue where you found this is important and that info would help people offer advice
  4. Submitting to CGC for a real newbie could be daunting & confusing. If one doesn’t know how to grade, how does one even figure out value & tier? I would recommend sending it out to one of the reputable experts for a dry clean & press (a cost of $20 or so). Have it returned to you unslabbed. Auction on eBay at no reserve auction starting at 99 cents with lots of awesome pictures.
  5. My recollection too, this was about a $1K book about a year ago. Any 9.8s in the census yet?
  6. People have been sweet on Annihilus’ FA as an undervalued buy for a few years now; this interest survived even the Josh Trank film. IMO he’s one of the most important FF foes after Doom & Galactus, especially given his connection to the Negative Zone which is so important to FF lore. I think the value will continue to rise. I don’t own one but bought and sold several in the past few years.
  7. Dropping off at a convention saves you the trouble of packing them up & the expense of shipping. Just bring them to the show in closed-top comic bags with boards. Buy your membership online the day before the show and bring your membership number. They will fill out the forms for you.
  8. The Thrilling Comic Book Cover Art of Alex Schomburg I have one of these - if you'd like it pm me
  9. My feeling - and I have no proof or inside knowledge to back this up - is that CC is 99% inventory, 1% real consignors; whereas ComicLink is 99% real consignors and 1% "house" inventory if even that. CC are obviously going for the ComicLink model and some people may very well list with them. Once CC told me a comic was on consignment and they couldn't budge on price. I asked if the "consignor" was Stephen Fishler and was met with a pretty surprised blank stare. Oh wait this is the OA forum... my comment here is as regards comics.
  10. Most is part of Metropolis' inventory, was always my impression.
  11. I have come to accept that the well-known and hot keys are better purchased in online venues / auctions than at comic-cons. It's a shame to have to ignore these books at a show but it's the truth. There are plenty of sleepers however and that's what you need to be on the lookout for. Find nice books or keys that haven't "arrived" yet, there are plenty out there - the ones you will want in a couple of years after you hear others talking about them. Figuring out tomorrow's keys and getting in early on them is part of what makes collecting fun for me these days.
  12. I've done this several times - 1st Howard Stark, 1st Giganta were both me in addition to a few others. The one time they didn't comply I figure it was simply overlooked rather then the result of some disagreement regarding my requested notation. As previously suggested, mark it on your submission form if there is a note field (can't picture the form off-hand). You could also send a letter with the submission like this example I once sent. Doesn't hurt to call & make sure they've done it when you see your status go to Graded. September 19, 2012 CGC Submission Center PO Box 4738 Sarasota FL 34230 Dear Receiving Manager, On the new label for the enclosed Eternals #7, could you please note the first appearances of Jemiah the Analyzer and Tefral the Surveyor? There are several online sources that reference this issue as the first appearance of these 2 characters, ComicVine is an example. Sincerely, xxx The way I see it, accurate notations are part of what we are paying for. They should honor the request if it's correct. I wouldn't be shy about requesting it any time of the year.
  13. There were likely a lot of $40 books there that are tomorrow's $400 books. When you get priced out of what you are interested in, it may be time to find a new interest.
  14. I still have almost a full run of these. Used to look forward to reading it back in the day

  18. I’m not sure there is an easy way. Best time saver might be to have an assistant.
  19. Maybe Metro owned a share of the company
