  2. The Michael Golden Marvel Stories Artist's Edition was announced at NYCC a couple of weeks ago. There will be four complete stories, including Marvel Fanfare #47, and two short Nam stories from Savage Tales, lots of covers and pages. Trying to go all out on this one.

If you have any really nice Golden originals (MARVEL ONLY) please let me know. Also, I will have my scanner at the Baltimore Comic-Con in a week and a half, and at the LA Art Show the week after. Contributors will be thanked in the book and receive a comp (U.S. and Canada only, shipping costs have become prohibitively expensive).

    Thanks,

    Scott

Although JLGL has made his mark drawing superheroes, he prefers not to.  He loves drawing the other genres where he's also excelled.  For example, sci-fi (Twilight)  and westerns (Jonah Hex).  So although you may not be into the story, I think JLGL would've loved the opportunity.  The story looks great.  And JLGL inks himself, the rendering has a different look than you'd usually see.

There aren't many complete JLGL stories out there.  I think there would be a premium on that, not a discount.  The final price will probably surprise you even more.  I doubt the bidders are really big Phantom Stranger fans, they're JLGL fans.

    Yup!

  4. I remember that store, it was in the upper 40s on 8th Ave. You're right, grumpy owner, grungy shop. Had a lot of movie materials too, right?

And, to go back the original topic, Supersnipe was my local comic shop from 4th to 6th grades, in 1972, 1973. Gave me my first taste of old comics and art.

  5. Hey Guys,

Just wanted to let you know we will have copies of the Romita book available at Wonder-Con, aside from the pre-orders. Not sure how many but I would suggest getting there early on Friday if you want to get one. We will be placing the rest of the copies on the IDW site early next week, I'll post when they go live.

    Best,

    Scott

  6. Hello All,

    Romita at his drawing board.

You can order it on the IDW on-line store. Copies are available for pick up at

the Wonder-Con (or you can just come by the booth and get one), or you can have
