  1. Starting back up with some Strange Tales and I'll wrap the night with some Tales to Astonish; will be listing more books tomorrow evening
  2. Hello all... I just recently picked up a small OO collection locally. Nothing too fantastic but some decent run filler books that are in decent shape outside of a few. Titles included are: X-Men, Journey into Mystery, Tales of Suspense, Fantastic Four, Daredevil, Tales to Astonish and maybe some other stuff. It's around 95 books and does have at least two keys. No HOS or PL or my personal list. I reserve the right to not sell to you if I so choose. If you think you're on my personal list, PM first. All books are accounted for and none will be lost. Domestic shipping will be $7 for up to 3 books. After that, we'll go to a box and it'll be $15 for as many as you want. International will get a $15 credit (unless otherwise discussed) For payments under $200, I'll take PayPal. Anything over, a check/money order please. I'll accept returns but you'll cover shipping both ways. All books are raw and are unrestored. I'm going to grade them and will take front/back photos and note anything truly off but overall they're VG to F across the board. I'll be pricing them in the VG range and will offer a discount. Discounts: If you buy 1-5 books, take 2% off If you buy 6-10 books, take 5% off If you buy 10-15 books, take 7% off If you buy 16+ books, take 10% off There will be one book offered that does not qualify for a discount. I'm going to post a photos of the group and then list the Daredevils. Then I'll try to get as many as I can in tonight.
  3. In your example, I would say no, he should not be charged with the crime without due process. So I guess the whole idea behind the poll is that it gives the seller due process. Sadly like @kav says, if he doesn't care enough to come in and at least voice his side...why should anyone else care.
  4. This is a fine discussion and I'll add my in: First off, @Red84 sent me a PM asking about the poll. I had no objections to the poll as it seemed like a fair and reasonable request; let a jury of your peers determine your "guilt or innocence" The poll and associated conditions seem fine as well...so as it stands, I have no objection to the outcome of the poll. Secondly, someone mentioned that if the nominator and offender don't vote, it shows we don't care. That couldn't be any further from the truth. During trail, does the plaintiff or defendant get a vote on the jury? Last I checked, they don't....so I don't believe it's fair for me to vote. Besides, the math dictates that an "oppose" vote actually carries more weight than a "remove" vote. So my vote would be weighted heavier than his...therefore, I choose not to vote this time. Thirdly, the offending party hasn't piped up AT ALL in regards to this. I know he's been active on the boards so I'm not exactly sure what's going on. And lastly, i've seen so many people use the logic of "the buyer was refunded; he was made whole" argument. In my opinion, that's flawed logic and here's why: I paid with PayPal...what other option did the seller have? Had he not refunded my payment, PayPal would have forced the issue (or my CC as a last resort). Fact is, he didn't take any great step to rectify the situation. He had zero choice in the matter b/c ultimately a higher entity would have stepped in to resolve the issue. I've also seen some question the seller's character by asking if this is his first offense, and if not, maybe he should get a mulligan? Does a drunk driver who injures an innocent get a mulligan simply b/c he was an "upstanding citizen" until he drove drunk? Do you get a mulligan for CDV or child abuse? Again, flawed logic IMO... But I do believe it's a good and fair idea to let the poll decide...
  5. Once again...you still don't get it. You continue to hide behind vague and ambiguous answers. If you sold it via eBay, show everyone the sales receipt. If you sold it on the boards, show us the PayPal receipt or the PM where you sold it. Provide the answers to the simple questions....if you cannot, then you remain.
  6. Actually, the seller has come on here, given conflicting answers to some questions while avoiding others. But hey, everyone deserves a participation trophy right?
  7. Couple thoughts floating in my head: 1) it would be unfair to ask any seller to go out, acquire a book at FMV and sell to another at less than FMV. So I would never ask that to happen 2) I do appreciate the seller coming into the thread to offer up his side of the story....but... 3) The answers received continue to be murky at best and cast doubt as to the truth of the matter. Too many contradictions to basic questions at this point. No real clarity as to why photos are deleted in one spot vs. another (and sorry, the "people use the cert #'s for registry" answer is bogus). EVERY single book on CLink, Heritage and CC have the cert #'s available. Sorry, this one does not track. I've never once take the position that the seller is flat out lying that he lost the book. The actions that transpired after I paid and was refunded have just cast a significant amount of doubt as to the actual truth being told...however, the fact still remains that it is possible (although not probable) that the book was lost. However, I do not feel at this time that the seller has satisfactorily answered all the questions posed and therefore, I am not removing my PL nomination at this time. If the seller wants to address his "confusion," then I believe we are all ears....
  8. Just so everyone is aware, I’m reading all the commentary and am thinking about the best course of action. I do have a follow up question: if the book in question was previously sold, can you locate the record on PayPal? If so, do you mind sharing with me?
  9. @1Cool it was not me @Murphman13 yes but 99% overpriced
  10. We will be there tomorrow. I’ll have on a grey Columbia Comics T-shirt. If anyone sees me, stop me and introduce yourself 😁
  11. Seller has read the PM requesting photos. The time has past... @crassus
  12. Seller has been notified and the photos requested. Seller has until Thursday, June 13 at 8:30 PM to post the images. The original PM notifying of the probation nomination was sent on Monday at 8:30 PM. This complies with the 72 hour rule.
  13. I’ve been asked what the seller can do to get off the PL list if he was placed there: lets make it real simple if he gets put on the PL list, to be removed, he has to post clear images of the book so that there is a good show of faith and transparency. Until that happens, he would be on the PL. this seems reasonable. If someone can’t even be bothered to post the images (after deleting them) then they don’t deserve to be able to buy and sell.
  14. @telerites thanks for the kind words. It’s not so much that the book has gone missing, it’s the complete lack of interest in at least attempting to make amends. The complete dismissal “it’s lost, here’s your money back, GFY” that burns me up. While I’ve never lost a book, I have some it on eBay and then it resold on my site Bc I forgot to take it down. However, I handled the situation completely differently, explained what happened, apologized and then offered a discount on a future purchase. Guess what happened? Buyer came back and bought a different book WITH the discount. Win win! I believe this seller has been called out for questionable selling prior to this incident. And yeah, an apology does go a long way.
