  1. Well another tried and true modern key is picking up steam in the 9.8 range yet AGAIN.

    NM #98 CGC 9.8...

And they are NOT all from JAREDSKEYCOMICS.

    Sweet!

Question: How do you do an ebay search to see the price of items that have already sold?

And if you are using the new pain in the behind eBay iPad app.. Use the refine button after searching for something. This will bring up a box of options. What took me a while to figure out is you can scroll down in this box, there is a sold items option after scrolling down.

  2. It makes economic sense too. For example, Fatale 1 is selling for $15 on ebay he sells a customer a copy at cover, they fall in love with the series and purchase the next 30 issues from him.

it actually makes no economic sense at all. if you're relying on customers to hopefully pick up a book and then buy the next 30 issues, you're asking for trouble. it's one thing to keep a book at cover until the next issue comes out, or at least until the book is older than a week, but selling books at cover when they're $15-25 on ebay and have been out for a minute is horrible business, and it is one reason why stores go out of business.

It's Friday. Tonight's gonna be a good night.

  3. Just received my 1st ASM 129 :cloud9: from Robert.

The price was great, packing was top notch. There was even a freebie book that was something I wasn't expecting and greatly appreciated.

    Great seller! Thanks dude.

    :headbang:

  4. What if the whole storyline of ToT's culminates in Redmond stealing a top secret government virus, and as him, his son and the agent fight over it, it breaks open and starts turning people into Zombie's. It's all a prequel to the Walking Dead.

And the agent is related to Michonne.

And she makes a pre-WD appearance in an issue.

    Would that help?

You've missed your calling. It's time to send you directly to Image to consult on all major plot lines.

You should see the scripts I write for Cherry Poptart.

    :o:signfunny:

  5. I didn't think of it like that, but I don't know it necessarily follows that the other 250 owners get more value - there's no way of telling how many of the people who don't own the 250 you own (in our imaginary scenario) would want to keep their copy if they got hold of one, and how many would want to sell.

Haha. I don't mind being the evil hoarder, but what I actually want is around 20-25 copies. I have 9 now, so I am getting close. Of those, I plan on getting them pressed and slabbed and then will keep the highest graded copies and maybe will let go of the lower grades. My risk is that everyone I get could be junk.

Not bagging on you.. But why not just wait till all the graded ones go up for sale, save your money and buy the best one...

  6. So the same person is buying every $20+ copy on ebay?

The #1 & 2 set that ended at $52.87 last night had 7 different bidders over $20. Clearly they all want a copy.

Of course, they probably want a copy because of the hype and speculation, so we're not disagreeing on that...

Seriously. I just listed three ToT #1 first prints on ebay for $80 as a BIN/Best Offer. In less than two hours 16 people looked at the auction, I received three different offers in the $50-70 range, and finally a fourth buyer hit the BIN at my asking price. You can speculate as to the motivations I guess, but there is demand for this book... and damn, if those of us on this board do have this kind of power, I wish we'd flex it a lot more often.

    Congrats on the sale.

It does seem strange to see some of these sales on eBay when, as Michael said, there were plenty of copies of this book at C2E2 that just sat there. Nobody was buying it for $15 to $30.

Maybe we need another word for when speculator's overpay buying from each other on eBay to give an impression that a book is hot.

    Incestuous?

    No. That's kinda creepy.

I like what you are doing here with new words Chuck..

I thought about Icy/hot but that just doesn't sound right.. So I though Shaquille O'Neil is the Icy/hot spokesman.. So how about Shaqed. Or Shacked. I.e. that's a Shaqed book.

  7. Got a box with three ASM slabs today. One which was not in Mikes sales list, but I inquired about it from his regestry books and he sold it to me at a nice price.

Great guy to deal with and hope to deal with again in the future.

    Thanks

    :headbang:

  8. lol

    Ramble on!

I do like the idea that the story is being told through the memories of a child. It also fits with the one comment I received on the book which compared it to an adult Axe Cop.

The story is being told from the memory of an adult (Hazel) right? She talks about how she doesn't grow up to become "some great war hero" and that only one man managed to break her heart but then stops herself going into it.

A good twist is it will be her father that breaks her heart.

    Oh damnnnn

Need to find someone going to ECCC now! Looks like it will be glued binding from the picture which might not be the best for such a large book but we'll see. Very cool anyways, especially the gold leaf :)

How many different ways will they come up with to sell us the exact same material? rantrant

Look how many times we have all bought Star Wars Movies.
