  1. I really think this one is underrated, as one of only two Buck Rogers appearances in the pulps, and his only pulp cover. Good luck hunting down the August 1928 issue to go with it!
  2. Got mine today. Just for comparison, here's a scan of the book on top of Raphael #1. It's a little bit smaller than the classic oversized issues, but still bigger than a current comic:
  3. A couple pickups today. The Avon lists 12 books both on the inside and the back cover and has globe endpapers, so should be a first based on what we've discussed here. The Lancer is a bit outside my normal collecting goals, but looked interesting for four bucks:
  4. Found at a local bookstore today; I just really liked the black cover.
  5. I know I said this a few days ago as well, but with the speed this keeps moving it bears repeating: Thank you to @Get Marwood & I, @Albert Tatlock, @Mr Thorpe, and everybody else involved in this discussion... It remains utterly fascinating to follow even if I don't have anything to contribute myself!
  6. I need to dig out my copy to check, I THINK the paper cover is 32 and the slick is 36. I have a low grade copy of the paper copy...
  7. Definitely one I would love a copy of. It's the sort of copy that's right in my wheelhouse, as well... not so high grade that you can't afford it or are afraid to read it, but still presents wonderfully. Just enough marks of age and wear to add character.
  8. You've sold me on this; copy ordered. What I'm NOT getting right now because I ordered this instead: Shock Suspenstories #1. So this better be good...
  9. I want to say I found my copy for cover price at ECCC last year. I suspect a lot of the demand is people trying to put together a Marvel Super Special run, but I could be wrong.
  10. I really do need to track down the last few Our Gang stories by Kelly I'm missing; between the reprints from a few years ago and the originals I have most of them now. My copies of the first couple issues could use some upgrading, even by my low standards; although other than the cover damage they're all quite solid readers. I bought 1-5 as a lot on eBay several years ago; starting bid was $40 and nobody else bit. I think I got a heck of a deal at that price, even with the obvious damage:
  11. It's part of the A-1 series. Scan here: https://digitalcomicmuseum.com/index.php?dlid=8114
  12. Just took a little patience. And checking non-standard sources, like AbeBooks. What surprised me was how cheap they were when I DID find them... I think on all 3 of the non-US located ones I paid more for shipping than the books themselves. They're horribly underrated.
  13. You're safe on my end, now... that's the earliest comic related magazine I have.
  14. I was thinking of posting this book, but it's outside the 80 year time frame you presented for the topic...
  15. I should track down the first 9 issues of this just for the new BWS covers...
  16. Same, I have the paperback edition somewhere but not the super special. I do have this, though:
  17. Gil Kane & Archie Goodwin story; the cover by Bob Foster is the least interesting thing about this book... and the cover isn't uninteresting in the slightest:
  18. Not in the slightest, although I do have fond memories of going to see it, actually. My family was living in Germany at the time; some friends took our family to go see it. My dad worked for Boeing, the friend's Dad was with the navy. We had to drive a couple hours to get to the base that was showing it at the theater in English. So a fun day out with the two families, with the special treat of getting to see a movie in English that most people around us couldn't yet. I've always also respected the heck out of the film for giving Gene Kelly a starring role in a movie targeted at young audiences. But I haven't seen it since that first viewing and I have no real wish to see it again.
  19. And the Super Special NOBODY will admit to actually wanting... but try and find a copy :
  20. For some reason, it always slightly annoyed me that they did Treasury editions of the first two movies, and Super Special editions of the 2nd and 3rd, but you couldn't get the whole original trilogy in one form or the other. Empire was part of the regular numbering and Return was a limited series... so I think the only uniform format for the original releases of all three adaptations were the paperbacks?
  21. There's also the Hulk UK magazine; I have the first 20 issues of that; I wouldn't mind tracking down the rest for the Black Knight feature. But I've got all of the issues with Night Raven and new Nick Fury stories.
  22. Anybody else kicking themselves for not putting together a full set of Rampaging Hulk earlier? The Moon Knight issues are going crazy right now, it seems. At least I've got some of them...
