  1. I would say "our work here is done", but in reality it continues day by day in this thread...
  2. I don't have that one would be why. But it's going on the list for sure...
  3. We should put together a list of Fridge Magnet books one of these years, a lot of those round logo Avons would make the list.
  4. Is Panic #1 heating up for some reason? Someone posted they were looking for a copy in the Want to Buy threads, and I thought I could track one down quickly. But a check on eBay shows that a copy missing a back cover went for $79 and a 1.5 for $179. For ages it was a book you could get a decent mid-grade copy cheap.
  5. I do need to track those down one of these years... I do have this, though: I wonder why the US never really tried Muppet Comics until the mid-80's? When we were looking for the first US Muppet comic these were about the best we could find, parody or serious:
  6. I have no idea who you're referring to. Should we call the Doctor? It was your Lord Grade who had the good sense to finance Henson making the Muppet Show. Given how much joy just that has given me over the years I'll forgive you any number of things. Admittedly, burning down the White House a second time would be pushing things...
  7. Any other thread on these forums, I would read "nice" as dripping with epic amounts of sarcasm in this context. This thread, we mean it unironically. You're a wonderful bunch of comic loving geeks to hang out with and I'm happy you've accepted me here even if I am a Yank.
  8. I don't own a selfie stick. I'm leaning towards something like this, and then an actual group shot of the spines: Only, of course, there will be about nine images like that...
  9. In today. Only 1 D-series SF double to go, and it's on order. Already trying to figure out how to manage a group shot:
  10. Copy #4, courtesy of an assorted lot from @ft88's recent sale. It wasn't the reason I grabbed the lot, but the fact I have no immediate intentions of unloading any of my copies suggests that I may be hoarding this issue:
  11. I'll think about it more and post later if others don't beat me to it, but the obvious changes to me would be "Vintage PB's", to avoid confusion with comic TPB's, and possibly "non-comic magazines" rather than "other magazines".
  12. I can try to find what box this one is in and rescan it if you were interested in working on it, Darwin.
  13. Trying to find issues of “West” with the Zorro stories can be a pain as well. Some names were just never designed with internet searches in mind.
  14. Agreed that a separate forum would be useful, with the same caveat that they should still be allowed in GSB as well. I would also suggest that it should be made explicit that paperback sales could be in the pulp section as well, if it does get created.
  15. A couple issues of Amazing from @Randall Dowling's recent sale:
  16. A digest in today from @Randall Dowling. From a purely speculative viewpoint, I expect this one to become scarce on the ground fairly quickly as people realize it's one of the only girls in tubes covers that hasn't gone ballistic already:
  17. A big box in today from @Randall Dowling, including a couple digests that will make nice type samples for their respective publishers. Although I do wonder if anybody has actually read any of these in the past 50 years, or if they're all in the hands of collectors mostly interested in the cover art:
  18. I can't speak for others, I normally only pick up DC funny animal books if a) they're really cheap, like 2-5 dollars at most, or b) if they have Sheldon Mayer stories. Fox & the Crow rarely meet those requirements, so I don't have many, although I do have appearances of them in other books, like Comic Cavalcade, which has Mayer stories in many issues.
  19. April 1st has always seemed like a fitting birthday for Sheldon Mayer:
  20. Like I said, no longer my copy. But it is a pretty nice book, isn’t it? I’ll see if I can get a photo of my copy when I get home.
  21. I had a Fightin' Marines #15 that was about that bad, only along the right edge. Sold it to a boardie pretty quickly, a quick check shows that it's still the highest graded after they submitted it. I'm happy enough with my 4.0 that I got as part of the sale/trade:
