Planet Stories really are the epitome of what people think of when they think of Science Fiction Pulp covers.

OtherEric got a reaction from KirbyJack in Happy Birthday, Sheldon Mayer!
If ever there was a cartoonist whose birthday falling on April 1st was appropriate, it's Sheldon Mayer. His work on Scribbly, Sugar & Spike, and any number of DC humor features, shows that readily. Beyond that, his importance to the history of comics... convincing his bosses to publish Superman and co-creating the Justice Society... is as great as almost anybody in the history of the field.
(The JSA picture is obviously not by Mayer, but it seemed like a fitting piece to include anyway.)

I've been wanting to pick up these early Bugs Four Colors for a long time. This one practically jumped out of a box into my hands at Wonder Con and I pounced on it! Looking forward to reading it!!

One of my favorites. This beater copy I bought as a kid was my first Barks Four Color. I've hung on to it all these years later. One of only a few books I've kept from that time.

In today. Not particularly rare; but I think this issue tends to disappear a bit quicker than a lot of the Dell US issues when it turns up.

OtherEric got a reaction from KirbyJack in I'll pound you to a "Pulp" if you don't show off yours!
Today's book. Pity about the tape on the spine; but it could be a lot worse.
Another issue with the classic Weird Tales triple: Brundage, REH, and HPL. The Lovecraft story, "The Shunned House", is arguably the first appearance of the story. It was actually printed several years earlier, but for various reasons that printing wasn't actually distributed until the 50's. So first publication that made it to market.

OtherEric got a reaction from mwotka in Fiction house anyone?
Picked these up at ECCC this weekend. The brittle pages on the 101 would normally have stopped me, but I figured for $3 it was still worth it.

The Jimminy and the Magic Book stories are just delightful. One of these years I need to track down the issues I'm still missing (including World's Finest 70).

I just snagged this off feeBay. Just couldn't help myself - if it was a comic it would be on the top of the GGA and Planet collector's list. This is my second Pulp the other being a doppelganger for a Wings comic I own.
Are there bags or mylar sized for Pulps? A few cursory searches haven't turned up anything.

My copy is missing the centerfold. It's definitely not a common book, but I don't think it really breaks out as much rarer than most other More Funs in the 108-127 run.
With that said, the 108-127 run of More Funs are pretty darn scarce on the ground.
