OtherEric got a reaction from PopKulture in I'll pound you to a "Pulp" if you don't show off yours!
Not exactly pulps, but I think people here would still find them interesting:

Slightly off topic, but I thought people in this thread would appreciate them anyway if they don't go into the Pulp thread:

With SDCC coming up soon I’ve probably been buying more than I should but I am glad I was able to add this copy from Clink tonight.

OtherEric got a reaction from FoggyNelson in Where are the Mad Magazine collectors?
And, to answer my own question, some further searching online suggests the "Field & Scream" parody in #31 was Kurtzman. Which makes sense, since it was Jack Davis's last work for MAD until #99.

OtherEric got a reaction from Raze in E.C. Fan Addict THREAD
Didn't realize there was a 2nd issue of this until a few days ago. Never quite sure how to consider these; on one level I don't think of anything created post 1956 other than MAD to be an EC. But on another level, Two-Fisted Tales edited and written by Harvey Kurtzman surely deserves consideration over pretty much anything else when it comes to being a EC revival.
Glad to have them, in any case.

I think that was the last Steranko-drawn comic I tracked down. NOT easy to find. Nice pick-up.

OtherEric got a reaction from oldmilwaukee6er in The Unofficial Underground Comix thread...
I think it's Crumb's first nationally distributed comic work... which is several qualifiers. I think he had done greeting card work before this, and there may have been some locally published and/or self published material before this. But I'm far from an expert. Yes on first Fritz publication.

Scooped this up at HeroesCon, coincidentally from the Heroes booth. Super cool and trippy Steranko art in the last story.

And, finally, the pair of books that I was actually mainly grabbing the lot for. v1 n10 and v1 n 11. All 5 of the books have spectacular page quality, by the way. I'm quite happy tonight:

I picked up this first issue at a vintage record store. Most collectors consider it a pulp, and it's fairly tough to find. It's a bit taller than a "slick" of the day, and was probably tossed into a pile of sheet music for years, so I'm not surprised the top is a little beat up. I was still thrilled to find one in the wild.

Impulse grab today when I spotted this in the wild, after others showing off the series recently:

And a slightly less impulse buy of some late Savage Swords. I'm only trying to put together the Roy Thomas runs, but that's still issues 1-60 and 190-235, so it's close to half the series:
