She'll Be Dead By Morning by Dana Chambers Popular Library No. 238 1950 $22
Love this cover. Not a known Belarski but in the style almost better than he did.
Fine. Spine has slant and pages are slightly uneven. Covers are smooth with minimal creasing. Wear to the spine and edges. Small stain to back corner.

The Cosmic Puppets by Philip K. Dirk b/w Sargasso of Space by Adnrew North Ace D-249 1957 $20
True 1st Edition of Cosmic Puppets. Covers by Ed Valigursky and Ed Emsh
A pretty nice bargain copy - the spine is super nice, book has great color and gloss. There are a couple of vertical creases on "Puppets" and book has a bit of a wave from improper storage.

The Simple Art Of Murder by Raymond Chandler Pocket Books No. 916 1st Printing November 1952 $35
Just a killer copy of the 1st paperback edition of this collection of 5 tales. George Mayers cover art
VF Plus Unread glossy and square with no wearing away of the silver spine edge - very rare to find these silver spine Pockets like this. Tiny bend at bottom back. Tough to beat.

Hard and Fast by U.S. Andersen Popular Library Eagle EB72 1956 $15
About as hard boiled a title as you can get, with multiple cool Ray Johnson paintings to boot.
Fine Plus/VF minus Square and Tight with great color. Has a few light bends and some surface and edge wear, shadow at bottom front. A nice copy.

Burmese Days by George Orwell Popular Library No. 459 1952 $12
Nice GGA cover art in the style of Barye Phillips but uncredited. Pretty racy back cover blurb, Orwell didn't shy from controversy.
In nice shape with some spine stresses and an odd bindery flaw, one page was bound out of sync and sticks out a little (not loose, very tight in the binding)

I guess it's a George Mayers kind of day...
Jasmine Street by Clifford Dowdey Popular Library Giant G119 1953 $15
Beautiful GGA cover from the great period at Popular when they put art on the front and back. Mayers signature on the back cover art
At 480 pages, this is truly a Giant of a book. Very hard to find these fat volumes in such nice shape. Has a light crease on upper front and a bit of edgewear. Incredible whites on that phat spine (pictured)

The Lone Wolf by Joseph Louis Vance Dell Books No. 10 1943 $15
Gerald Gregg Art Deco cover art with the "Giant Eyeball" logo, much larger than on later numbers, and a nice mapback of Paris
These first 10 Dells have such a great "Golden Age" feel to them, and are pretty tough to find not trashed. This one is square and tight, with light creasing and some waviness to the pages from old moisture exposure.
Take.

The Neon Wilderness by Nelson Algren Avon No. 424 1952 $75
Famous Ray Johnson street walker cover, re-used on the Avon comic Intimate Confessions No. 1. This is the second numbering of the book with the great blurb at the top added (and laminated)
No annoying creases, tight and complete with some page uneveness. Light wear to base of spine. Super glossy with near perfect lamination. A nice looking copy of a book that has become very tough.
Take.
