  1. GA is not for the faint of heart. Be prepared for riches beyond your wildest dreams as well as soul-crushing losses, often in equal measure.
  2. A few more books now sold but a couple good ones left. It Rhymes with Lust: https://www.mycomicshop.com/search?ItemID=47493705 Personal Love 24: https://www.mycomicshop.com/search?ItemID=47394311
  3. Before I got a better handle on the Golden Age market I used to slab everything, even low graders. I learned the hard way that slabbing low grade GA is a waste of money since GA collectors want access to the actual stories inside.
  4. Yes. In fact, there is no doubt in my mind. Double in fact, I believe wholeheartedly that people are buying in that thread simply to be part of the frenzy. Triple in fact, we discussed this exact thing last year and some buyers chimed in this thread to confirm they purchased items without much forethought just to be part of the action. Human psychology is a funny thing.
  5. Take Life & Times of Scrooge McDuck tpb 2005 2nd print Gemstone $25
  6. Any Scrooge Christmas stories by Carl Barks are a good start.
  7. Best Slab Category: House of Secrets 92 signed by Bernie Wrightson. Picked this up here on the boards to start the year. I wouldn't mind having a reader copy to have alongside this if anyone has a copy. Best Raw Category: Death Dealer 3 signed by Frank Frazetta. I had a chance to buy this from the Frazetta Art Museum which made letting go of my only Frazetta SS less painful. Best Art Category: Leonardo sketch by Stan Sakai, colored by Steve Lavigne. I bought the Sakai sketch and it seemed a little naked so Steve offered to color it and it came out great.
  8. I (temporarily) have slightly less than 1% of all Frazetta SS in my collection. Hope that helps!
  9. Awesome Cole cover. Cover detached and there is a tear on the front cover but the book is complete. Not a book that comes up for sale often. $225.
  10. First takeit wins and immediately trumps all PM negotiations. Any variation of "takeit" counts. I accept Paypal, check, money order or cash. No Hall of Shamers or Probies. Payment expected in 72 hours unless we work it out ahead of time. US shipping is included. International shipping will need to be determined prior to sale. Three days' return shipping from receipt. Buyer is responsible for shipping cost back unless item was damaged in transit. I do not refund slabbing or restoration fees. If you choose to slab or restore a comic I sell to you, and the result is different than what you expected, the choice to do so is solely yours. All concerns should be brought to my attention prior to third party influence. Please do not edit takeits and please do not commit to buy unless you intend to follow through.
  11. I've been getting rid of most of my slabs and sinking the money into raw books, mostly GA. I've only a handful of slabs left but they are difficult to part with. The struggle is totes real.
  12. My first goal is to come up with a second goal.
  13. A couple books have been moved to this week's auction (and are still ultra cheap as of this posting): Wilbur Comics 8: https://www.mycomicshop.com/search?ItemID=47394217SOLD Rangers 9: https://www.mycomicshop.com/search?ItemID=47774018SOLD
  14. Hi Donger, Welcome to posting on the boards, Donger. That Maleev sketch is very cool, Donger. I think the sketch looks great as is, Donger, and sticking it in a yellow label sleeve would only detract from its grandeur, Donger.
  15. When dealing Golden Age, price comparisons often run from non-existent to irrelevant.
  16. I picked up a Stan Sakai sketch of Leo but it felt like it was missing something. So off to Steve Lavigne for color who knocked it out of the park.
  17. Is this only available if one was a supporter of the project?
