  1. Kids, you tried your best and you failed miserably. The lesson is: never try.
  2. Tie an onion to your belt. It's the style I fell 8000 feet to my death. Of course, folks were tougher in them days. I was jitterbugging that very night!
  3. Anyway, about my washtub. I'd just used it that morning to wash my turkey, which in those days was known as a walking-bird. We'd always have walking-bird on Thanksgiving, with all the trimmings: cranberries, injun eyes, yams stuffed with gunpowder. Then we'd all watch football, which in those days was called baseball.
  4. Does anyone have any idea what this might be? It appears to be an advertisement of some sort for the TMNT cereal. It is printed on clear plastic and mounted on a paper matte background. The image measures roughly 7x7 and the entire piece is probably 11x15. I put a white backing board behind it so the image would show up in the picture.
  5. To be more specific, I sent an invoice via PM and then, three days later, a friendly follow up. Both PMs were read but there were no replies from the buyer.
  6. I think you still have to wait the requisite 30 before you can officially nominate. Okay. See you guys May 22nd! There is an exception if he flat out tells you he is not going to pay though. I've just been straight up ignored. A preferred move of purchase dodgers, second only to, "My nephew accidentally clicked takeit."

  8. In my sales threads I state that payment is due within 3 days unless we work out a different payment schedule ahead of time. How does that impact my adherence to the standard 30 day rule for a PL nomination?
  9. In this instance, you need to have a clear understanding of what the terms are. Many people offer guaranteed 9.8 pre-sale signed books. If you don't get a 9.8 then you haven't gotten what you paid for. You are entitled to a refund, at very least. Others will say "I have 10 NM/NM+ books" and if you order one, you get whatever they come back. That is dicier. What if some come back 8.5 or 9.0? That is nowhere near NM/NM+ But under no circumstances on that pre-sale are you entitled to a 9.8. If you want a guaranteed grade, negotiate for a guaranteed grade. Otherwise, you get what you get. That's how I see it. You get what you get. And on the SS, what if the person who is signing pen explodes? A good facilitator will bring excess copies to account for unforeseen variables. Assuming, that is, that the facilitator is providing his own books and not accepting your particular books. If you are sending in books the facilitator should not be guaranteeing 9.8s.
  10. If facilitators are selling 9.8s for upcoming SS signings then buyers are receiving 9.8s.
  11. Time payments were mentioned in the listing. Just wasn't sure when payment #1 should go out. So when is it an acceptable period for first payment to be made. ( say for a 4 month payment plan ) ? Nvm, that question was answered. I've accepted time payments several times and generally require the down payment immediately as a show of good faith in order to consummate the transaction.
  12. Not sure your analogy helps or hurts your argument.
