  1. Second package that I've mailed from Nashville to Houston in the last few weeks has been delayed. WTF is their deal down there? *vent*
  2. Because I'm mentally ill and have more money than brains.
  3. I have the top registry set. 1-275 with all variants (all of them) slabbed in 9.8 or higher, with less than a handful of 9.6s that stand as fillers. 64 is another impossible book. I used to own both highest graded copies (9.6s) but sold one of them. It was a poly bagged issue with a black cover. I need a 135 and a 182 in 9.8 as well. Good luck and contact me, anyone, if you can help me out. I would like to finally complete my solid run from 1-275 in 9.8 or higher. Just a few pesky ones left. After years of hunting, I can tell you that it's not nearly as easy as people think. No, we're not talking Golden Age rarity here. But as one dealer told me, "if they they aren't out, they aren't out there." And I'm sure they ARE out there. I have to believe it. But they probably belong to someone who has either forgotten them or has zero interest in selling them. ...and Spawn isn't an easy run by any means. Too many dark covers that bring out the most minute flaw. Crappy print runs (275 was legendarily awful) and cover stock (245) during certain eras. Plunging print runs due to lagging sales and the digital era. And there are many, many other modern titles that are just as tough. It's a challenge. That being said, yes, the limited run variant game was cheezy and it's gotten old. That's why I stopped at 275. I just couldn't stomach chasing down all of those silly variants anymore.
  4. My point is that I have advertised my desire for those books for several years now, and I've had some big-time dealers looking to no avail whatsoever. The insane amount of cash I'm offering has made no difference. Maybe someone out there can help me.
  5. No one on the planet is going to pay more for those two books than me. Guaranteed.
  6. Go ask people who track down modern 9.8s for a living how easy it is. One of the biggest misconceptions in the hobby is that modern 9.8s are always abundantly available.
  7. I will pay multiple Benjamins for Spawn 156 and 212 in CGC 9.8. If it's that easy... I don't care about newsstands.
  8. If you really believe this, I will offer a public challenge. It could be very lucrative for you.
  9. I hear lots of people complain about them, but I've never once had an issue. I guess this is one of those situations where your experience may vary.
  10. Fantastic customer! We were able to wheel and deal with ease. Fast and easy payment. Better yet, when we experienced a delay from the USPS, he was very patient, understanding, and reassuring. Easy guy to deal with and I look forward to doing more business in the future! Thanks Phil.
  11. If I can afford it, I will die with a comic collection. I suppose my kid(s) will end up with it and will do what they see fit.
  12. I don't see how it's possible to pick anyone other than Hulk.
  13. Dreaming Eagles is now off the market, and I'm not too awfully sad about that in the end. The next to go will be the Dark Knight Returns 1 from the collection of Klaus Janson and signed by the former owner along with Frank Miller. This is a "comp copy." Let me know if you really want it. If anyone wants to see more Spawn, let me know, otherwise, I'm done with slabs for a long time. Throughout the season, I'll be posting various raw sets, lots, singles, and maybe a few other non-slab surprises. Now that I have a small child, I'm literally running out of space in the house! Lots of stuff has to go, and I'll be trimming a lot of the fat from around my core collection. I hope you find something you like, and thanks to all of the wonderful customers so far!
  14. I'm taking down the Dreaming Eagles book later tonight before I go to bed. So if you want it...better grab it today. Otherwise, it's going back into my vault and will stay there for a long, long time. I'm honestly quite shocked that nobody has taken it yet.
  15. BTW, I freakin' love Immortal, and non-operatic black metal in general.
  16. I paid $1800 once for three Frank Miller signatures, back when he was a recluse. Now his sigs are nearly as ubiquitous as Stan Lee's. Well...almost. Anyway, that one really hurts my butt-button, and I'm quite embarrassed to admit the whole ordeal, to be truthful.
