Yep. Fun fact...it was the first destination on our honeymoon. It's awesome to browse, but I was concerned, not only over the prices, but over the dozen or so buckets throughout the store collecting dripping water from the leaking roof.

Me too. I was a young teen during primetime Image.

No. It's fine. Just leave it alone. If you want a better copy, then buy one. -
Collectables Insurance Question
newshane replied to Nschenks's topic in Newbie Comic Collecting Questions
I also had a policy with Collectinsure. I never had an issue, but I never made a claim. I currently depend on a rider from State Farm. EDIT: And yes. Your books are covered in transit. -
I would say visually matching the tone of a page to that of a printed standard is pretty darn subjective. Maybe I'm missing something? Is there a scientific tool available to assist? What, exactly, is the "black or white" objective process that should be used to determine page quality? If a grader believes that the tone of the paper is identical to the standard, then that is an OPINION, is it not? How can we prove them right or wrong? I also find your use of the word "generally" quite interesting. You said, "Grading generally is not subjective." Well, is it subjective or not? What did you mean by "generally?"

Nope. I can't even imagine trying to reset the registry to include points for page quality.

In the simplest terms: Scarcity is not the only metric by which the value of a comic is determined. You also have to consider demand. "Key issues" are worth more because they are in demand. There are several reasons why an issue could be considered a key: 1. First appearance of an important character (Amazing Fantasy 15) 2. A famous or important story arc, including origin stories or character crossovers (Secret Wars 8) 3. Cover art that is considered highly desirable (Incredible Hulk 340) 4. The first issue of a series drawn or written by a famous artist or writer (Amazing Spider-Man 298) 5. The first issue in a popular series (Walking Dead 1) 5. Other historical reasons (Eerie 1) Keep the following in mind: 1. An issue can be scarce but worthless due to lack of demand. This is where comic collecting deviates, somewhat, from coin collecting. 2. Supply and demand is the main driving force behind a comic's value. 3. Other than supply and demand, it's also important to consider the condition of a comic.

SPAWN 268 - CGC 9.8 Spawn in Punisher cosplay? On a serious note, this is a proper Spawn cover. Should be dark and brooding. It should NOT look like bad to mid Japanime (Jonboy Meyers) or a Saturday morning cartoon or the doodling on a middle schooler's spiral notebook (Erik Larsen). I don't know much at all about the cover artist here, but I was happy to see the cover art revert back to some level of authenticity and honesty when it comes to the character. Unfortunately, I had already made a firm resolution to stop at issue 275.

THE LIVING ENCAPSULATION

So, I'm trying to read through all the posts and all the threads. Really. I am. But I can't seem to find out how they were actually busted. How did they get caught?

Well, if the accusations are correct, they are scum. I'd hide, too.
