  1. Regardless of what happens officially, I will not be doing business with this guy.
  2. I guess I just can't wrap my head around: 1. Losing a book that costs several hundred dollars. 2. Not tearing the house apart to find it if I /did/ lose it. I ain't rich, and I ain't poor...but I think even the richest of us would feel damaged (or at least agitated) over losing a book of that value.
  3. if we do not do something about this, we are sending a clear message that it IS okay to back out. All you have to do is say you lost the book. You think he would have found the book by now...or showed a little more public concern...or apologize profusely to the OP. But no. Simple statement that the book is lost. Too bad so sad. I will await further explanation from the seller.
  4. All he had to do was produce the original pics of the book. He had a way off the list. But, magically, he decided to delete the pic to free up 160kb on his hard drive.
  5. The fact that he was refunded does not make it okay to back out of a done deal.
  6. People can STILL conduct business with folks on the probation list. They can read this thread and decide for themselves. Without further explanation, I know what my personal choice will be. I think the OP had some very salient points in his early posts that are worth reviewing at this point.
  7. Let's pretend that I sold you a copy of...say...Planet Comics 1 for $10K: 1. You pay me. 2. 5 minutes later someone offers me $15K. OR...maybe I check the GPA and realize that I could have gotten an extra $5K. Maybe I will post it somewhere else to save face, or sell it locally under the radar. 3. I tell you I "lost" the book. After all, happens, right? After all, I have a solid reputation on the boards. Why wouldn't you believe me? 4. I quickly delete the pics and the price from my sales thread. 5. I refund your money. You would consider the refund a "positive point"? Really? Come on now. I also want to see the good in people, but Radix malorum est cupiditas my dear. SMH
  8. What it means is that now all anyone has to do to void a deal is say, "I'm sorry. Book is lost." Not good. How was the book lost anyway? Did it leave his house at any point? If not, it's still there SOMEWHERE, right? If he really wants his name removed from the PL, I bet he could find it. ONE five hundred dollar book was lost...but the rest remain? Who in the world loses five hundred dollars???? And the 160KB pic was conveniently deleted to save hard drive space? I'm just not buying it at all.
  9. The picture in question appears to be a whopping 160KB. That was a lot of room back in 1989.
  10. Deleting a picture to make room on a hard drive? Come on folks. Is this 1997? Even your Wal-mart specials have HALF A TERABYTE of storage space. ...and you just don't lose a comic book worth several hundred bucks. I don't buy any of this.
  11. Had yet another great transaction with Michael. Paid fast and made easy deals. Let me say again - highly recommended!
  12. Nope. Bottom. That's when the heart is relaxed.
  13. I've had a sinus infection for almost 2 weeks now. Went to the doctor. 190/115! I literally broke down into tears when the nurse left the room. Turns out it was a false reading due to a bad machine! *wipes sweaty brow."
  14. You forgot pickled pig's feet and fried squirrel brains.
  15. The only clear solution was to load the "meat" with salt until it was palatable, which they did. Your typical 7-11 brand-x Slim Jim is really no different.
  16. I swear to god that the gov. cheese that came in those long, rectangular loaves in the plain cardboard boxes...that stuff was of the gods.
  17. I was poor growing up. Spam. Potted meat on saltines. Bologna sandwiches, cold and fried. Vienna sausages. Fried chicken livers. Real healthy stuff. I used to love potted meat on white bread. I would barf all over the place now.
  18. "I cracked the book out of a PGX slab and they said it was not trimmed."
  19. The art on the boxes was usually stellar.
  20. "It was trimmed at the factory." "CGC must have sent it to CCS for a trimming."
