Not as good as I expected. I really liked Dawn of the Dead and was hoping for more of the same. It wasn’t bad, but it just didn’t pull me in and felt like it dragged out.

Too be truthful, it's the 1st appearance of Emma Frost too and she's become a pretty important character in the x-universe.
Also 1st Sebastian Shaw.
I just looked on ebay and someone has a X129 9.8 listed at $20,200.
Also, there is a 9.8 listed at $8999...... so why would you buy one for $13250 on CL???
Someone is trying to artificially inflate prices.
I think we will find out that the $13250 never went thru.
All good points.

Imagine being that seller on Heritage thinking you were going to cash in, getting your hopes up for at least a $10k sale, and then the crash & burn.
Likewise the Heritage buyer must think they got the deal of the century.
Even half that price is still impressive if you ignore the last sale. I’m an X-men fan, but big picture this is only Kitty Pride. Crazy times.

I don't understand the hype for 129 myself. Yes, three first appearances, but what are the odds that any of them even show up in the MCU version of the X-men?
It's a cool book in the middle of a great run but definitely not worth the money being thrown at it. I'm saying this and I own a 9.8.
I think the chance is very high.
However I agree with you on the price, though I only have a lowly 9.6.

I’m surprised this issue hasn’t jumped considering what is happening in the market.

Now we just have to see how much that 9.8 will sell for on heritage
That will be impressive to see.

I don't know guys Bishop is a huge staple in the x-verse. We live in a world where the first appearance of Honey Badger overpriced 1st Bishop. Who has earned it more? It's about time Bishop gets some attention. I like his character and I always have since I saw him on X-men animated series. Just my 2 cents.
I’ve always liked the character as well. There were a lot of them printed though, but I guess when 244 in 9.8 can briefly be a $600 book, what can’t 282 in 9.8 be a $500 book.

If you like comics, then read Invincible.
If you like Invincible comics, then try the cartoon again.
Sounds like good advice. I’ve wanted to read the series for some time. Maybe this time I’ll get around to it.

I tried watching episode 1 last night. I really couldn’t get into it. Having said that I don’t like cartoons, so it probably isn’t surprising I didn’t like it. I’m happy for all the people that did like it and hope it does well.

This is exactly what I was thinking. I’ve been flipping comics for a very long time now, and I’ve never seen anything like this before, aside from a couple exceptions.
Only thing I can think of is that all these movies have created more flippers/sellers than what we used to see 5 to 10 years ago. More people are in the game creating a larger demand.
Everyone has their theories. Card collectors stimulus money, etc., but why since the end of December?
Stimulus money isn’t buying $10k books? The amount of dollar growth must be in the many $100,000’s. Maybe more. How does all this money pour into the market in such a short period of time? Even if some of the card market is speculating on comics, it’s not like they called all their friends and said starting January let’s poor all our money into comics.
This is a massive growth in the overall market.
Again the question is why now? What has changed this year?

it's astonishing to me given that this book in 9.8 hung around at about $800 for years since the first deadpool film came out. never really passed 1k. then suddenly, a month or two ago, boom! and in a week or two it's nearly doubled again. i've rarely been more tempted to cash in on a book than on this one. the way money is entering this hobby right now is unusual to say the least!
Terrible time to be buying. Amazing time if you’re selling.

Not exactly lighting the world on fire in mid grades though, it's easily had for $20-30. In terms of decent bronze keys (which I think it is, it's not quite as big as Iron Fist but not as insignificant as say the Living Mummy) I'd say it's definitely on the low end of the spectrum.
That’s funny you say that. I may have thought Deathlok was cooler than what he was and was way more popular than Iron Fist, at least in the 90’s.
Am I remembering this wrong?

I actually saw the $1750 listing last night and had a chuckle to myself thinking, this guy is out of his swede if he thinks he is selling it for that, what do I know? Fair play to the seller but the buyer must be desperate
Crazy.

Are people really such lemmings that a book can go from $250-300 and have a blip auction at $610 and now suddenly they think it is a $600 book? What I find hilarious is the guy with the $995 BIN. Really?
Yes. Yes they are.

Point being they bid high enough to yield that number. So yes they would have.
That can’t be proven. There are plenty of people that get caught up in bidding past what they planned to pay. Hell how many times have bidders paid more for a book via auction when a BIN is listed at a lower price. People do dumb things, particularly when they are manipulated.

Maybe by the 1st bidder, but the 2nd bidder looks legit and that was $600+
True, but would that bidder have gone to $600 if the auction wasn’t being bid up by a shill?

I saw that as well. In this market how long until the price is corrected though. Look at the buy it now prices based on this.
I still need to pick up a copy, but not anywhere near these prices for a third tier character.

I keep hoping they will make a new good movie in any of these series, yet they keep putting out garbage. I did like Predators with Adrian Brody.
all I want to know is who came up with the dumb idea to make humans from the engineers? Of all the stories that could be told.
