Great books!  The Croydons have aren't so polished but have their own special look.  My fave is the Scandals at a Nudist Colony.  I knew the Immoral Models was a cut above (as far as artistry), looked it up and it's Lou Marchetti. The redhead is great, but the schmoe in the background isn't nearly as well done.
A couple of new scanning digests that fell in a box of beater paperbacks.  These late crime digests aren't my usual waters, but I thought I'd explore.  The graphics are very cool on this.  I've no idea who the artist is

I like the graphics on this one, too

It's been slow for me on the PB front recently, but I have just added a few recently.
Originally published in 1864 this is the  1956 Ace edition of Journey to the Center of the Earth by Verne.

Also acquired the first of two similar compilation of short stories edited by Healy and McComas.

Also spotted this hard boiled Graphic Mystery by Richard Powell. Three of his novels were adapted for film.

Kudos to Pat for sharing "3 From out There" and it has an avant-garde cover common in the late 50's and 60's.

Added this book, as I have not read much of John Campbell's work. Island of Space was originally published in 1931 in Amazing Stories Quarterly.

There's a couple of volumes but also a deluxe edition, is that right?  Trying to sort out what's what -
How many paintings were sold? An heir had a large stash? That's great news in any case, many pulp artists are not so lucky.
I'd certainly appreciate seeing a choice page or few from the auction catalog

Here is the deluxe version book that I purchased from the UK in 2018.  Beautiful color reproductions can be found throughout the marvelous book with 316 wonderful pages.  Now that I am an older collector, I tend to splurge on the nicer editions.

I bet Weird Menace sees lots of grading.  It's a cover-centric area, lots of comics fans already dabble (natural crossover with PCH - you sickos :P), and it "might" be an area where some assurances are warranted about condition as far as throwing down big chunks of cash.

Love that one, haven't seen it before.  Looks like there's a few years straight of painted covers after the first few photo covers.
I've been trying to get my hands on the first issue for a scan, as it played an important role in precedent re: obscenity on the newsstands:

I don't own this issue but did restore the cover from a digital image, Allen Anderson (prolific pulp painter but mebbe most famous for a couple of his Planets, did some nice comics covers for Ziff-Davis, too):

Probably a formula to Swamp Fiction! Say, 1 gator attack every 22 pages....Or something like that.
