HoudiniOnTheMap
Hello! At the suggestion of a longtime member, I am starting this new topic for retail/non-comic magazines. For me specifically, I am looking at skateboard magazines, but assume there is an interest/population of folks that collect magazines of all types. Feel free to post questions, comments, pictures, etc. related to magazines below. Thanks! Popular Post jimjum12
Almost any magazine can have some value, depending on the subject matter. At the moment we get Entertainment, Rolling Stone, and Mad each month. GOD BLESS.... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) Jayman, jdandns, chevalmeow and 3 others

Jayman
The timing for this threads creation happened to be perfect as I just started cataloguing my non comic horror mags! Let’s see if there’s any interest. Early 90’s horror flicks anybody? chevalmeow, jdandns and jimjum12

HoudiniOnTheMap
Those are SICK! On the submission form, is it just standard that you can't submit a future month release date in the current year? Might be one of those things that just never got brought up because most folks are interested in slabbing older mags.

shadroch
I have hundreds of Hot Rod and Motorcycle mags that I will give to anyone willing to pick up up the postage. You can have one or all. Please don't ask for a specific issue as they are completely unorganized. Randall Dowling and jimjum12 1

Looks like this issue for modern submissions has been update; kudos to the CGC folks! Next question, anyone have tips/tricks on best way to ship to CGC for maximum protection? OtherEric
First Little Annie Fanny. I like that Hefner felt Kurtzman and Feiffer were worthy of getting their names on the cover with other contributors... comics & cartoons just didn't get that respect very often in the 60's. jimjum12, dover, Randall Dowling and 1 other

Bumping this for input...really not sure the best way to package as the CGC tutorial is for comic mags that are relatively thin. Thanks for any insight you all might have! Its for 5 fairly thick mags (within the 1/2" limit), 8x11. Personally, I would put 2 or 3 into priority mail envelopes (in regular bags and boards), stack them and then sandwich the envelopes (2 for 5 mags) between 2 pieces of rigid cardboard that are slightly bigger than the envelopes. Wrap the sandwich in lots of bubble wrap both ways (so that there's no wiggle room) and place them in a priority mail box. Again, with enough bubble wrap around all sides so that there's no space for movement in the box. I know this involves USPS, not UPS, but I've shipped hundreds of books this way and never had them get damaged. Surfing Alien
