  1. From what I've seen / heard Larry mainly tries to do a few shows near where he lives and once in a while if a promoter wants to pay his way out of the region. I believe he still enjoys the fan interaction, but just has a very blunt manner about him. He is also hard of hearing, so at times it might appear as if he's ignoring you, but he actually can't hear you (for real). He seemed genuinely happy to meet my son dressed as Lil' Snake Eyes earlier this year at a very small show in NJ. His convention sketches are super inexpensive and often come out quite well (though he has a very loose style). He's honest and that can come across as disarming to us fans. He explained to me and I've since read in interviews that GI Joe was not the preferred project for him to be known for (though I think he is quite grateful for it). He always wanted to make cartoons of funny animals, think Daffy Duck. One of his personal creations was Bucky O' Hare, which he handed over to Michael Golden for the art (he's a pretty humble dude and just felt like Mike's art was better than his). He just had his most success w/ GI Joe and it stuck...so he ran with it. He never imagined it would last this long, but his attitude is...if we keep reading...he'll keep writing. If your patient he can give you some cool stories about Golden and working along side of Neal Adams as an artist and editor. I don't think his age has much to do with his perceived attitude at times. I think Larry doesn't require allot of acclaim and kudos and simply calls 'em bluntly like he sees them. Keep in mind this is the same dude that basically and unceremoniously fired McFarlane after one issue of GI Joe...just didn't think Todd's art lined up with the -script and that was it.
  2. Anyone know if the Dracula reboot from a couple years ago will still be considered the kicking off point for the new Universal Monsters universe? ...or are they going to pretend like that never happened?
  3. What would you say is the big difference in the 'Producer's cut' of Alien III? Not sure if I've ever watched it (or would know the difference personally).
  4. Looks like I'm in the minority, I enjoyed the movie. I liked that it was equal parts...Part II for Prometheus and an Alien movie. Tied up loose ends for me well, and created a couple new fun questions. Saw it in a good theater (XD) with great sound so the suspenseful moments were enjoyable. I'll agree that the main plot twist was a bit telegraphed, but there was enough to keep me engaged. For me this was probably the third best in the series. I'd go with: 1. Aliens 2. Alien 3. Alien Covenant 4. (tie) Alien III & Prometheus 5. Alien Resurrection
  5. I'm still very skeptical on this one. I'd love to see this happen. But, Todd wants to 'direct' and/or 'produce' himself. That's not easy, and I can't imagine any big production company saying sure thing to that type of request/demand (though Marc Silvestri and Top Cow are 'producers' now). Frank Miller was a major exception (and there were still problems with the SAG or 'directors guild') because he had Rodriguez in his corner and teaming up with him was the only reason I think that worked out... I believe Todd would need a similar advocate and studio willing to take a big risk. The 90's angst ridden teenager in me would love to see this work out, but I think we'll have better luck seeing "Sam and Twitch" over on BBC America years before this comes to fruition.
  6. Wow... not one, but two John Byrne books. You don't see that everyday.
  7. Is there a rule against stabling talent? Is there a rule against taking money as a facilitator to get your book signed and graded, and taking money again reping the talent that provides the sigs? If there isn't a 'CGC facilitating' rule against this, what are the perceived ethical complaints? Assuming that its more than... it will now cost all of us more monies to get said 'talent' to sign our books. I saw at least one comparison with past problems and DWC, but aren't these issues different than what was seen w/ DesertWind? Legit questions, there is no sarcasm or dry humor intended in my tone, just curious as to what's at the heart of the issue as it seems a little derailed.
  8. Gotcha, thanks anyway. Appreciate all you do keeping us appraised of the latest
  9. I'm legit excited for this. I'm re-reading the Bendis TBP right now. I can see this being made and on TV before the next SPAWN movie gets off the ground. BOSCO you may want to edit the thread title since this news actually looks quite legit and confirmed by multiple sources. ...Sam and Twitch are getting a TV show...
  10. Nice to finally have it in hand...the foils look nice in person
  11. Bosco, I've seen a few of your posts specifically point to the 'ultimate cut' and how taking that into consideration that BvS probably would have been more well received/reviewed. I've watched both versions myself a few times. I've enjoyed the movie either way. Thought it was entertaining, just not great. I've never felt that the 'ultimate cut' made me like it much more, just seemed like a slightly longer movie. In your opinion, what is it in the 'ultimate cut' that really led you to feel that it should have been the version seen in theaters?
  12. Got my books today. Perfect packaging. High grade books.
  13. I think a twin bill is a great idea with Black Adam going out first. Then Cpt. Marvel being 'created' in response. ...I wouldn't sleep on Shazam as being completely overshadowed either. There is allot of potential with the story there that can cross several age groups. Wouldn't be a horrible idea to go with an unknown actor. There's always another star waiting to be discovered.
  14. Would love to see someone like Gunn take this on, but it seems he was just showing his interest and at the same time stating 'if only I had the time'. ...we can still hope. I'd love to see Spector as a movie, or as a Netflix series. I think it could work in either format. They could focus just on Moon Knight, or tie in with a Midnight Sons, more horror/monster themed type interconnected story.
  15. Pulled this one out, in honor of Rogue One, super excited to see it soon
  16. Great choice Adonis, still love the Watchmen
  17. Anyone know if they are keeping up w/ the hardcovers for the current GI Joe series? I saw a new volume on Amazon for pre-order in December (Serpentor cover). But, wasn't sure if that's the end of the line, or if it will keep going. The pre-order looks like it will catch you up to about 2012 of the new series.
  18. That Wonder Woman That Moon Knight amazing collection of signatures on that book, on a equally amazing cover.
