  1. I wouldn't have had a problem with the post if it had been more accurate and not trying to rip people off into thinking that only a few copies were out there. Be honest from the start and say that over 100 were sold, don't imply that it's in the dozen area, and then let people bid accordingly. Seems like the only ones with their panties in a bunch are you and the Comic BS I guy who won't be able to gouge potential suckers its Comic-B.S.-I. Please use the proper hyphens and periods in future sentence structures. BTW I did see a few people with copies of the Preacher WW comic con box variant that had the Preacher and Vertigo logos on the front. And by that I mean "only a few" Weird. I'm sure we're only just starting to begin to see the flood of new Preacher #1 reprints. I know we've all moved on to Rebirth. But that virgin Preacher 1 reprint is making some people a tidy profit on Ebay. I believe it was stated that it was $20.00 per at WWPhilly. If that was the case at least one guy has made about $500 bucks +/- on the bay. Heck, the 'free' reprint is selling for 5.00 per. Hilarious.
  2. Yes. If he sold over 100 out of a case of 200, then the print run is more than 100. It's at least 200 There's probably thousands made, depends on how many subscribers the WW con box has? Whether it's 50, 100 or 200, it's still more than "just a few." The article made it sound like just a small handful were sold. They even said "the books that escaped should see some crazy prices" like they were being hidden the last 3 days of the show. Gimme a break. Anyone could've bought 10 of them if they wanted to (a couple guys did) I was there as well and it did appear that his art dealer was keeping a pretty tight grip on them. At least when I was around. I noticed the cover right away as it was being signed by Glenn and I inquired. Basically said it was a great looking cover and asked if they knew where I could get one. His dealer stepped in right away and stated that he agreed is was a great cover, but that these were 'spoken for' and the rest were purchased by someone else (and this was on Thursday night). When I came back Saturday afternoon I didn't see any left, even though I see them on the table in your video, they weren't there when I stopped by around 1:30-3PM. I guess I should have politely pressed a little harder, I would have loved a slabbed copy of one of those beauties. Love his work. Got this done instead... While I agree there might be more to this run then what we know. Its not the same as the comic box cover...Same art, but its a virgin variant sans advertising, not the same as the soon to be published cover from what I can tell. The story appears to be legitimate, based off of the limited actual facts available at this time.
  3. I don't think either side leaks this info, unless its going to be locked up soon. I think its Brie...and I believe she can pull it off.
  4. Brie Larson... Perhaps...Carol Danvers has been found?
  5. Thanks! Stardust looks great. How thick is the case? Did they put it in an extra thick TBP case or is it in the standard case? Considering the same thing myself next time Charlie is doing a signing.
  6. Moon Knight, Blade, and Ghost Rider Walk into a bar Mooney, Blaze, and Blade on Netflix? Might need to retitle the thread now... I'm sure Bosco might have more info Sounds really cool though!
  7. Bosco, great news on the DVD. ...But is there any hopes of a R rated theater release 'Supercut'? I think that would be fun to see
  8. A few days ago he agreed that it was sexism he meant, not misogyny. I don't disagree with him that that sexism was present, I just disagree that it was present enough for it to stick out. Plenty of films have at least some sexist elements, and Snyder's two Superman films don't deserve singling out for theirs. If people confuse sexism with misogyny they need to go back to school. Old school for me. Having discussed this subject with my wife, I can tell you most women don't see a dime's difference between the two terms. I've just asked the woman sat beside me whether there was a difference...and she's firmly in the 'world of' camp. Furthermore, she adds that if somebody doesn't know the difference, they don't understand the issue(s). Never said there was no difference, just that many women find misogyny in sexist attitudes and vice versa. When you ask someone a question without context, they're likely to tell only what you want to hear perhaps because of the way the question was posed. I've discussed this with women as well and heard differently. Are we doing "camps" now? I actually asked 'do you think there's a difference between sexism and misogyny'. She said 'there's a world of difference'. So thank you for the inference that I span the question... Proof positive that we live in a small world. I wasn't suggesting that you spun the question, but if you asked a co-worker ...my assumption, for all I know the woman sitting next to you could've been your boss or a stranger on a bus... for an opinion about sexism and misogyny I'd expect you to get different answers every time based on each individual's understanding of those terms. You can't fully grasp how women (plural) feel about these subjects (for proper context) without prolonged discussions with many women. Have you done this? I've spoken with my wife about these issues, but that's irrelevant. These are clearly defined terms and just because a portion of the populace might confuse the two doesn't in any way validate the usage. For a start, one is 100% gender specific and the other one...isn't. Simply put, misogyny is a hatred for women. Sexism is a belief, and conduct based on the belief, that one gender is superior to another in one or many ways. I believe that cats are rather inferior to humans in a number of ways. I love cats. Can you not see why confusing the two does nothing to advance the debate and in fact, muddies the waters with unwanted and unwarranted junk? David, Our telepath here has really stated this quite well. And its been stated via other means several times in the thread. I would add that words are important, words have meaning. While related, these words are defined differently. Carrying the connotation of hatred is substantially differentiating. The simplest and mildest analogy one can make is, for instance, a simple (and I mean dumb) guy like me reaching in front of a woman (without asking) to open a heavy door. One can deem my act as sexist due to the perception I've created that I might be stronger than the woman and that she may, in fact, need my help with said door. Its very well possible that she is just as strong as I am or even stronger. But, my almost subconscious prejudice has led me to what could be viewed as a sexist act. This does not make me misogynistic. MoS, and BvS are simply films, in the highest compliment, one might say art. Flawed, yes, certainly, as all art is flawed. Many would argue that the portrayals of blacks, whites, asians, men, and women were flawed in both films. But one with a reasonable and rational mind would be hard pressed to describe either as portraying the hatred of the female gender. Several women were depicted with strong roles in these films. One might even argue that the director took liberties with their portrayal and made them even stronger, in some instances, than how they were portrayed by their original creators in the comic medium. Either way finding 'hatred' of women as a gender in these films is a fools errand. Standing up for feminist values is a noble pursuit. And you may be a great chap with an enlightened mind. But many of your comments paint a picture of a dim, self loathing tool. I doubt you are the later, and I hope that you can see the difference.
  9. Yea this looks pretty exciting for 'Joe fans and just fans of the 80's in general. Looks like they brought in the big guns in terms of writing talent to pull this off as well. Heavy investment from Hasbro here going 'all-in' as it were. I'm hopeful. I enjoyed both GI Joe movies, though they both had their flaws certainly, just fun to see them on the silver screen. From what I read both movies were profitable as well. It would still be great to see them 'done right' and as a part of a larger universe that's just flippin' sweet. I didn't see Transformers mentioned in the articles released today, but along w/ MASK, ROM, and the others it would be great to see Transformers cross-over with the other Hasbro properties as well.
  10. New GI Joe movie...and much, much more Good news Joe fans...and fans of the 80's in general. This looks fun and exciting.
