  1. What?! You own the CGC 6.5 Action #1? Gee, I would never have guessed! Like, you've only mentioned it in 99% of your posts!
  2. Very interesting info. I had never heard this, but it would be great if it were true. As with the earlier Margaret panel, I'm finding HK's work really indistinguishable from AW's work.
  3. Escape, many many thanks for posting the interior pages. But do you think you could break it up into several rows rather than one long row, as it's causing the web pages to extend really far to the right, which means we have to scroll right on every post that contains more than a few words of text.
  4. Wow, I'll tell you, I cannot tell the difference between HK's and AW's art during this period. If someone showed me this panel as having come from a comic, I would've had no problem believing it was AW.
  5. Nice book, Adam. Is it a Gaines file copy? I think the covers to a lot of EC's non-horror/crime books are vastly underrated. Are the art and stories inside any good in these titles?
  6. nice book! congrats on your first Curator!
  7. Thanks Joe, I love that story too. I always liked Alice`s suggestion at the end that Dennis go play hide and seek until his dad left the house.
  8. Welcome to the boards, Bill! This thread just keeps getting better and better! Thanks to Joe for so actively generating interest in this thread. Now if Fred Hembeck and Matt Groening would only join in...
  9. Hi Jim, Mexico is my favorite too! There is some laugh out loud funny stuff in there, particularly when Dennis takes a hammer to some delicate silver. But they're all great!
  10. Silent Knight! Grey tone! Add it all up,
  11. Priorities! Satisfied? I guess it'll have to do for now. Nice book!
  12. Thanks Jim, that's awesome! And thanks for sharing all your insights.
  13. Thanks Jeff. Sorry to be such a nag, but this thread's been dead the last few days and you and gpcove both put up nice 10 cent books today in other threads, so I felt compelled to remind you guys about this thread.
  14. Brad, that is a seriously sharp-looking 9.0. The black looks so... so... pristine.
  15. Nice cover, Scrooge! I have been really blown away by these Airboy covers!
  16. Hi Scrooge, been meaning to reply to your PM but too swamped. Downside of long PMs...
  17. I'd trade my collection for his. That's very big of you. Reminds me of a song that contained the line "All I want is everything, and everything is all I want".
  18. Very cool that a 46 and 52 got posted here in quick succession. They are not books that appear often.
  19. So how does your collection look to you after your visit to Casa Berk?
  20. Jim, many thanks for sharing your info. Do you know why he stopped drawing DTM? Did he just get bored and wanted to try something new, or was there a fall-out of some sort? I believe Toole kept writing the comic for several years after your dad stopped drawing, but it was never the same.
  21. That's what I was kind of hoping for. It's one thing to see pictures of great comics individually, it's another to see a bunch of amazing comics all gathered together. Witness the great pictures that gpcove took of Ian Levine's collection.
  22. Wow, very cool! Adam, thanks for the recap, and Jon, thanks for letting him in to recount your amazing collection to us. Er, I don't suppose there are any pictures of this event?
  23. Wow! Welcome to the boards, Jim! You're the second child of a person who was the subject of a thread to have come on. I would reiterate the questions that Joe just asked in response to your post, particularly regarding whether any of his original art has survived. Also, do you have any photos taken from the Mexico (or any other) trip? I'd love to see the photos that he used to render some of the amazing backgrounds that he used in the comics.
