I don't have a 320, 321 or 323. I do have a 322 but not a scan. So the next book is a 324.

Here's my copy of #318.

I could have sworn that I had a copy of #315, but can't seem to find it. I know I definitely don't have a #316, so here's #317, which is the Pacific Coast copy. I made the scan ages ago and seem to have gone nuts experimenting with the settings. There are some brilliant colors and the PC copy is absolutely pristine, but it's not quite this psychedelic.

No 313 either, so here's 314.

This thread has suddenly died! Did my detailed analysis of Adventure 300-310 covers put everyone to sleep?
My next Adventure isn't until 312. What can I say, I've always been a failure as a completist. I've posted it already, but just to maintain the sequential order. Tough tough book in high grade, Toth copy, yada yada yada.

The most expensive panel sold in public was drawn by Herb Trimpe. Herb Trimpe!

It's easy to detect my posting patterns, so you guys keep front-running me!
Anyways, here's my #307. It's a Toth. It's actually unfortunate that Heritage decided to crank up the brightness on a lot of the scans for the Toth Adventures, because they really do the books a disservice by losing the deep lustre of the colors.

Adventure #306, one of the relatively easier earlier issues to find in HG.

Here's #305, also an issue not commonly seen in high grade, so not surprisingly, it's a Toth.
My collection (not just Adventure) would've had so many more holes if not for the Toth collection. The scans really don't do justice how fresh the books look in person.

Here's #303, very very tough to find in high grade. This is from the Toth collection.

From one of their favorite runs? The books coming from Verzyl's collection are from such niche, esoteric titles that they may have made it easier for collectors to pick up a Church copy, but not sure if many are really from "favorite runs".

I'll start things off with Adventure 301. It's always struck me as odd that after the big splash announcing the Legion with #300, the title immediately proceeded to use a non-Legion cover. And a number of the early issues in the run continued to have non-Legion covers.

That is the reserve price. No one has triggered it yet.

tth2 got a reaction from entalmighty1 in What percent of existing copies of Action 1, Detective 27, Superman 1, and Batman 1 are already CGC graded?
Don't forget that if there's one thing collectors have learned over these many decades is that prices always go up for Action 1 and Detective 27. So assuming that the vast majority of owners are seasoned and knowledgeable collectors, there's always the fear that if they sell now, even if it's for life changing money, it'll be worth even more in another year. So if there's no pressure to sell, why not just hold on?

tth2 got a reaction from John E. in When the Auction Reserves Kick In.....
Heritage usually tries to dissuade consignors from putting in reserves, but if they insist on having a reserve, then at least tries to persuade them to put in a reasonable reserve.
I'm guessing in this case that the relatively unusual nature of this piece justified having a reserve, and that the consignor either had enough leverage to force Heritage to accept such a high reserve or was able to provide some evidence (e.g., private transactions or foreign transactions) of the market value to convince Heritage to accept it.
You're correct that it's unfortunate that if the reserve is never triggered, or even if it is triggered, we won't get a true sense of the strength and depth of the bidding. But that happens with virtually every Frazetta painting put up on Heritage, where we see some not-truly-indicative bidding up to the reserve date, and then a one-and-done.

Congrats, that is a really sweet copy of a really tough book. The only copy I've been able to find that I was really happy with was the Toth copy.
