That was a lot of money back then!  $30 for a comic might as well have been $3000 as far as I was concerned, because they were both equally unaffordable (and would have been rejected just as quickly by my parents).

Without seeing it in hand, it's impossible to know how much of that is due to scanner/photo settings and how much is due to real change.

Back with a couple of pulps, both LCS purchases.
I thought the grading for Astounding Science-Fiction #92 (July 38) would be more forgiving of the few small chunks that are missing. Robot man is right about taking up space, as the 2 pulps are slightly thicker than 3 graded comic books.

Thrilling Wonder Stories #61 (August 35) exceeded my expectations as the book has a small spine split.

When X-men #94 came out I was 12 years old and not really buying comics. I had some comics from 1972-74 that my mom eventually threw out. Although, those were mostly Harveys with a sprinkle of Marvels, although no X-men. I started seriously buying comics in 1978 and didn't buy my first X-men comic until 1979. That was X-men #123 which I bought two copies. One from the newsstand and another from the comic shop. The only reason I bought it was because Spidey was on the cover. After that, I felt compelled to buy every issue thereafter. Most of the time I would buy at least 2 copies, a newsie and DE. With issue #133 I started buying 3 to 6 copies, including 20 copies of X-men #137.  I eventually picked up X-men #94 & 95 in 1986 from a Ernie Gerber auction that he ran on the Comics Buyers Guide that summer.
Years later the X-men #94 graded out 9.6 and issue #95 a 9.4.

This just arrived in the mail today.  Now I just need to get copies of #1,2,3 to complete the set.  I already have the other series and digests complete.

Issue 95 its about a new slide at the city playground. 
 

Issue 96 Dennis helps Mr. Wilson doing some house cleaning.  Manages to create more work than help. 

Buying a big Duck book at Heritage in an auction and then trying to flip on Ebay a month later is .....  a choice. 

Yeah. Old scan is dark. And CGCs free scans while saving us considerable time and effort could stand a quality and consistency upgrade. When they get around to it. Usually a little washed out with glare areas.  

This is the one I'm waiting on. No image yet but I'm told it's a real stunner.

Issue 97 Dennis goes to the beach with his family and dog Ruff and wins the children’s division of the sandcastle contest.  

Same copy that sold back in 2002, must've retained the same certification number since it was re-holdered to the new label and casing.  Upon closer magnification comparing the newly certified copy to the 2002 one, it appears that the book has gone through cleaning to remove some of the foxing on the right and top edges.  Back cover also looks whiter.  Unfortunately after the cleaning, the colors now do not pop compared to how it was before and has slightly faded the deep oranges and blues it once had.
The 4.5 Tec 27 copy sold back in 2022. Would be interesting to see what it goes for now.

I think Mr. Wilson is an elderly retired neighbor rather than middle aged.

This is probably the biggest offering of Schulz artwork in a few years 
 

peds available for all of them.  as to the make-up of them, just so happen to have a li’l list on my phone…
also forgot that 3 of my silver annuals aren’t peds—total non-peds is 17.  

Here's my only slabbed pedigree book, and I love it!

The sadder fact is that there were just enough well-heeled SA collectors who wanted DC to block my progress.

I'd rather Walt keep it locked away himself rather, than some Rich Boy or Crypto Bro keeping locked away for themselves.
