  1. I haven't posted anything here for a while but I recently got these from a fellow boardie who got them from SDCC. I'm having a big 80's childhood revival in my collection at the min so Joe's and TMNT are must haves
  2. Luckily I have a four year old and we currently watch Batman: brave and the bold Thundercats Ultimate Spiderman Avengers (when it was on) Disappointingly he doesn't watch clone wars anymore He sometimes watches Adventure Time and there's all the usual kids stuff as well. I'm just glad that he's getting into some of the cartoons that we can enjoy together. We also have Netflix and that has allsorts of marvel stuff we watch together. Now my 18mth old son has no interest tv what's so ever, unless there's an animal on the screen then he's happy and points away.
  3. Love seeing all the artwork posted and I'm lucky enough to have a Bane original in hand. I just wondered if there was a dedicated thread for budding penciliers where they can swap ideas and post pics etc? Or should we start one?
  4. Sweet book I love this book and cover. Hard to find a decent copy at the right price even though there seem to be a lot of them out there. A lot of lower grade copies out there though. That one looks like a gem
  5. Lets see 5 European Cups + 18 titles or 3 European Cups + 19 titles I know which i would rather have Now let's see what would you rather have? 12 out of 19 Premiership titles Or 0 out of 19 Premiership titles and no league title since 1990? I know which I'd rather have Looks like we're (united) signing RVP again according to the radio
  6. This just reminded me to check Uniteds odds and we're 2nd favs 12-5. I never bet on the outright winners and these odds mean I won't be changing that. If we don't come up with a couple of surprise marque midfield signings in the next week then there's no way we're winning the league
  7. Didn't buy from dan on this occasion but have in the past and he's a great guy to get your books from. I did however donate to his stand up for cancer charity and wanted to send him kudos for arranging everything and being a truly outstanding boardie, well done dan
  8. Pouring it down with rain in Worcester! Thought it was supposed to be good weather this weekend!
  9. And on a completely different topic, Red Sonja on five for abit of Arnie and bridg late night fantasy movie fun
  10. Come on Beth, time to go out with a bang! The male gymnast said she was over the hill this morning, in jest I'm sure. She's 27
  11. We would have meet then as I was the the one selling those extra tokens and taking the cash made a lot of people very happy and even more people mad That is funny to think we'd have met. I was walking past on my way to stans panel when the announcement went out so thought I'd grab the opportunity to get the extra book done,(considering how much I'd been charged for my other 2) then they wouldn't let me into the panel! I had a VIP tier 3 ticket as well! Luckily I got to go to VIP panel later so I wasn't as bothered but still that was the trade off in the end. What day did you do the Stan Lee evening? That night, the sat. Not quite the way I pictured it when I bought the ticket but I enjoyed it.

  13. One of my books from LSCC has actually been graded! Funny thing is its a book I took with me but with not much intension of being signed. I had it in my bag when they did the next 50 people who get to stan lee queue get half signing for £20 or £25. Something like that. Anyway I had wolverine #1 patch series from a small run I'd bought in my bag and it's graded at a 9.6, which Im happy with. Worse thing is my economies still haven't been graded! Sharon said it can't be long as about to go past their agreed upon max business days to grade. So hopefully should see them this side of the pearly gates!
  14. I'm a complete marvel boy but have a soft spot for batman and I'm looking forward to watching the final film. I also had batman earth one arrive in the post this morning, looking forward to reading this, anyone else picked it up?
  15. LSCC cgc books great books and well done on them returning home. I'm thinking that I might be picking up mine at the next show
  16. I get all my supplies from Comicana, send Nick a PM and I am sure hey will try and get what you want. Knew it would of been more straight forward to just pm nick 1st, thanks (thumbs u
  17. Can anyone suggest somewhere to by mylites and full backs? Is it a case of eBay or is there a shop that does a better deal. Nick if your reading does comicana do comic storage/supplies? Just wanted to have something more substantial for my signed raw books and SA raw books. Have always used normal bags and boards up until now. Thanks
  18. Listening to you guys talking about comic shops and general comic related fun from your youth makes me really sad that I missed out by not getting into comics until my very late 20's early 30's. Living in Worcester I'm really not sure where I'd of gone for comics culture anyway as being a little town I only remember 1 comic shop ever being opened called Planet X and it not lasting long and getting robbed a lot by thieving kids. The guy kept what I remember being high value bagged comics fairly close to the door so kids would literally run in grab a handful of books and run out again. The shop was out of town so no security about or anyone to stop them and they'd be off. I wouldn't be surprised if that's why the shop didn't last long. Like I said I never went there myself just heard the stories in the school playground. I suppose if I'd been into the culture at the time then I would of travelled up to Birmingham, which still has my most local comic shop Nostalgia and Comics. I don't go that often just when I happen to be in brum, all my comics come from the boards and nick at comicana. Still like I said I it would of been nice to have been into the scene a little earlier but glad I'm here now.
  19. That is such a great cover, not a book I'd normally pick up but would be worth it for the cover alone. (thumbs u
  20. Anyone waiting for scans of my ASM books either via pm or in the sales pm please be advised that iv just tried to put my scanner through the shredder and close to normal service will be resumed sometime shortly
  21. I was told by Sharon within the last week or so it could be up too 2 months still for economy books
  22. Deano, If you contact them, they will hold books over auctions and let you build a pile, the more you get the cheaper it gets, thats what I do anyway. 1-3 books $60 4-7 books $90 8-12 books $115 13-18 books $135 19-30 books $200 over 30 call customer service That's a good bit of info as I won 8 books in the last auction so gutted that I havent taken full advantage of my postage quota. I have asked if they'd add any books bought from them normally rather than in the auction. Not sure how you'd do this as when bidding or buying on a listed book it always forces you to add full postage as if you were completing a full order. Anyway around this?
  23. Hi, many thanks. It's the Celtic version I understand. I was named after a Scottish dog my parents once met. I was actually the first Brit on these boards* - 10 years ago in December if I recall. It was also my first (and only) internet message board and I thought... erm, my name is "Ewan" and I live in the "UK" - thus... If I were to change it now I'd be "CrumpledoldfartdadUK" thanks for the replies so far *I made that up, probably not ? who was? My sons is also the Celtic version "Ewan". My mums, mums, side of the family are Scottish and from Kirkintilloch so that was an initial reason for the name (this grandmother chose my name Jamie, another Scottish name, not James which people often assume). The other reasons are a bit more embarrassing and me and my partner do laugh when we think about telling Ewan. Basically I'm a Star Wars fan and one of my favourite characters is obi wan, we came close to Ben but my other half fancies and would happily leave me for Ewan Mcgregor so we settled on Ewan! So there we go Ewan was chosen and he's always suited it!
