  1. Pep Comics #29 July 1942 A rare Alex Schomburg MLJ cover
  2. Jackpot Comics #6 Summer 1942 Love this cover.
  3. Pep Comics #26 April 1942 First appearance of Veronica Lodge--Bob Montana was really on a roll in early '42. This issue also features a Remember Pearl Harbor cover as America enters WWII.
  4. Jackpot Comics #5 Spring 1942 First appearances of Mr. Weatherbee and Reggie. Also a great WWII cover. A real classic!
  5. Pep Comics #25 March 1942 First appearance of Archie's Jalopy--which amazingly enough changed very little over the next 30 years.
  6. Jackpot Comics #4 Winter 1941 Probably the third Archie appearance, and definitely his first cover appearance.
  7. Pep Comics #23 January 1942 The second appearance of Archie. I love the Statue of Liberty cover--done before America entered WWII.
  8. I've wanted to do this for a while and I finally have all the books I need for it . I'm actually going to cheat a little bit and include the first 14 months so we can finish the Jackpot appearances. Pep Comics #22 December 1941 The first appearance of Archie, Betty and Jughead. Archie was the second teen humor series introduced by MLJ (Wilbur debuted in Zip Comics #18, September 1941) and joined the Pep Comics cast of characters led by the Shield and Hangman just before the US entered World War II.
  9. New Curator book . And it's a Marvel
  10. I've seen a number of copies, but rarely better than FN. I think it is a truly tough book in VF and up.
  11. I think this book has been posted earlier in this thread, but it's so cool, we should see it again
  12. I picked up a couple of new SA books in Chicago (well, actually a lot of new SA books, but most of them are Archies). I thought this cover was hilarious. "Krypto hates you!"
  13. Actually, any posts in this thread make me happy. Sometimes it feels like just me, the wind and the tumbleweeds
  14. A new addition from the Chicago show
  15. Yeah, they really do have great gloss. Holding them at an angle and letting the light reflect off of them is a real treat
  16. I do and will have to dig it out. I'll probably start another thread for the comparison.
  17. The next 3 books are all Curator copies and are the nicest 40+ year old books I've ever seen! The first is Archie's TV Laugh Out #1
  18. From the controversial Don Rosa pedigree:
  19. Ohio copy bought at the Chicago show ($12.50)
