  1. Lol, economic forecasts didn’t used to factor into my buying strategy, but now you have to consider it. Stagnant is good when I’m buying though. My thought is that comic prices were tied closely to the checks that the IRS was mailing us, and now that those stopped, the comic market is taking a breather, though it seems to be resting on its previous-noncrazy-2021 trajectory, so I have no fear of a collapse. If the government responds to pain at the pump by giving out more free money, or (god forbid) fixes the root causes of high gas prices, we’ll be off to the races. Thing is though, high energy prices affects everything, so all things, including comics, might keep going up regardless of how much extra spending money people have (or don’t have). Smart people don’t keep their money in the bank!
  2. It seems cheap relative to what it could be. Since you’re watching the trends is it slowly rising? Contracting? Just curious. I’ve seen these books at a lot of shows but never really looked at prices.
  3. Same old thread, new viewpoint at bottom of thread. Hey guys, It's been years since I've collected modern, but I'm finding myself interested in Miles Morales. I've seen the movie Into the Spiderverse a couple of times and I really liked his character. I feel his inner-city perspective makes for an interesting angle. So I splurged and bought a second print of his first appearance and I'm going to pick up an Ultimate Spiderman 1 (2011). So what I'm trying to figure out is where he fits in the Marvel Universe (official cannon), and what his future holds. It came out in 2011 and his early appearances, so I'm hopeful I made a wise purchase. So is this a fire that will continue to burn? Or will it fizzle? Seems you couldn't have two Batmans, but you can have two Flashes. What does the future hold for Miles Morales?.
  4. sold This Lot is for two books. I think I looked through issue 110 one time carefully to see what the fuss was. I don’t believe issue number 13 is never been opened. Anyway, issue #110 is the controversial “non-consensual boinking” issue. Issue #13 is an early issue in high grade that’s been in storage for years. Buy them both for $150 shipped. Will also trade them for a Ultimate Spider-Man #1 (2011) since I’m on the hunt for one.
  5. SOLD! Low grade Beware 10. How many golden age horror covers did Frazetta do? Besides the obvious piece missing on the upper right portion of the cover, a slightly larger piece on the left side fell off, and I have it lightly secured with a couple of barely sticky stickers to hold it in place in the Mylar. Still cool, rare, and cheap for what it is. $400
  6. Sold via PM FF annual 2. Maybe a 1.5 or 1.8. Missing pieces of the square bound spine cover. $120
  7. Archie Annual 4. Looks like it has some foxing. Presents well. Classic cover. $135
  8. SOLD! Famous Funnies 191. Key, First appearance of Space Detective. Just like every book in this thread, it has a complete interior, no tape or amateur restoration or hidden defects. $200
  9. Hulk 6, Complete and solid with lots of honest wear and right edge marvel chipping. Maybe a 1.8. $325
  10. Journey into Mystery 103. Has a short margin tear on the right edge that goes through most of the book. Cheap key. Probably a 1.5. $130
  11. Thread Closed. Putting them on eBay My thread title is not all inclusive. But it will include the unsold highlights. None of the books have tape, amateur restoration or any hidden defects unless fully disclosed. I hate those kind of books and don’t buy them. Terms: Returns are accepted. US sales only. PayPal goods & Services or Money orders for payment only. Shipping is included in the price and will go via USPS. I consider a short layaway with a 20% nonrefundable down payment. I might add items to this thread or lower prices in this thread so keep checking back. An in-thread “I’ll take it” trumps ongoing PM negotiations. I will mark books sold fairly quickly, so if it’s not marked sold then it’s probably available. Trades: I may consider trades for better uncanny X-Men issues 94 through 140 & Avengers Annual 10. Really!
  12. I find them irritating. But the thing is I don’t actually know what they’re like. Can somebody post pictures of one? I’m assuming that the paper quality is completely different, or am I wrong?
  13. This almost exactly what I’m doing. I’m having a blast picking up the books that I collected and read in the ‘80’s. Except I’m splurging a little to get the keys I couldn’t quite afford back then…(still cheap compared to the key books I used to collect).
  14. Don’t misinterpret me. I’m learning to live with something I don’t like. And that makes me wonder if it’s here to stay…doesn’t seem to be slowing down.
  15. What’s not to love? Books shipped nicely and quickly for a good price and he even threw in a couple of freebies.
  16. I feel like I’m getting used to the higher prices. I persevered through sticker shock and lowered my expectations of what I can buy without selling something else. I am still selling stuff and buying new books with the proceeds but now the numbers are bigger. Still enjoying collecting.
  17. Thank you. I’m still buying from your thread depending upon what you list next. So do you wait till the end to close out and invoice?
