  1. Good thing you said so to speak... I have seen A LOT of 9.4's of those. But then again, that could be the same couple copies over and over again with guys trying to flip them for more than they paid.
  2. I don't know - I figured I would see how far off his grading was, plus I figured it was worth a shot. I actually bought before the big thread came out on this guy - yeah I checked his feedback, but mostly I figured for 15 bucks, it was worth a look. I can totally see how his blatant overgrading could everyone off.
  3. I bought a "9.8" X-Men 139 off this guy for $15 last month. It was VF-. I emailed him and told him he might want to look at his grading standards, and he pretty much said he thought grading is subjective and I could have a refund if I wanted. I didn't take one - it was still a decent comic - and $15 isn't hardly worth the hassle. But he did offer a refund immediately - he seemed pretty nice. So I figure the way to deal with this guy is - if he has a "9.6-10.0" comic - assume it is 2 grades lower. If you want some mid-grade stuff for dirt cheap - this is the guy to buy from. I know the principle of him advertising a F/VF book as a 10.0 is almost impossible for some people to overlook, but it is what it is......
  4. Can anyone think of any wee people/little people/migdets that have ever been in comic books as super heroes/villains? The only one I can think of is Puck from Alpha Flight. And Wolverine(if you consider him a midget)
  5. Well that is impressive. How does it effect your speed and flexibility though? I would guess that it would be far easier for you to pull something than someone of a comparable build to say, Jet Li. I'm sure you and "the iron bull" are fast enough to make, what, 6th dan? But in practical application, like for sparring and stuff, do you find it difficult to spar smaller guys because they might be quicker? I've noticed that when I started lifting heavier weights, I was markedly slower on the heavy bag, and while I was stronger, my power actually seemed to dip. I would imagine that to be because punch speed actually generates as much or more power than actual strength - but you can't really have 1 without the other.
  6. Meth, Maybe I'm a bit off here. But when I was training in martial arts, and I told my sensei I wanted to start weight training, he said it would be fine as long as I never lifter more than my body weight(bench press) - he said to always work high reps low weight as that would build longer muscles that were far more flexible and quick. Judging by your pictures, you look like you do a lot of heavy weight, low reps. How can you be effective in martial arts being so large? Short muscles are very inflexible and your range of motion has to be somewhat limited. I can think of many katas that would be very difficult for me if I were your size. What kind of martial arts do you practice?
  7. He's a scary lawyer, remember? he might sue THEM for answering his allegations. I'm still in litigation over him stealing my scans
  8. http://www.cityofheroes.com/ This looks like it could possibly be the coolest game ever. It should lead to numerous divorces and heart-attacks do to lack of getting up out of your computer chairs for days on end. I'm doing hand excercises now so I'm in shape for the release.
  9. So buy from good, reputable buyers. Metropolis and hogations I buy from regularly, and they are honest and grade fairly. There are other sellers on this forum that I haven't bought from that I hear are great - dr.banner, sullypython, etc. I hate getting overgraded , too. Now I'm just waaaay more selective on who I buy from. As long as you are careful who you buy from, eBay is better than a convention.
