  1. I'd probably just request it's own registry. I think Solsen produced 7 books total? Maybe more. I'd love to get them all just gotta find time. Adam can probably give you a definitive total. (thumbs u

Solson published 8 books in total with 2 of them having cover printing errors. There could be more errors though...Solson did a crappy job and they even misspelled Raphael's name (i.e., Rafael). These books were creative ideas that were poorly executed.

Are any of these books ever high grade? I've looked and can't find one that I would a true 9.8.

  2. Thank you! :)

I'll tell you, selling books on eBay has become a huge hassle. I don't mind the fee's and listing them. I constantly have 30 books for sell, all auctions starting at a dollar every week. I will continue to do so for several months as I've said I'm selling a huge collection. I'm finding more and more people buying one book, and sitting on it until more end so they can buy them. That's fine but I would love the money now. I've got one buyer that has bought two books, 6 days apart and says he might buy a few more. So I've yet to get payment at all. Getting quite frustrating :censored:

  3. Let me start this post by giving a HUGE thank-you to Adam(Peter Palmer) for getting this book for me. It was no simple task and of course Adam came through like he always does. So, thank-you Adam, I now own a truly awesome piece of TMNT history. So here it is below. #68 of 100, Turtlemania Silver. :cloud9: I could care less about the grade of this book as it's so rare that just owning one is a true honor and privelge. It presents WAY better than the grade which is that way because of a spline split and it having signatures and on the back cover. Thanks again Adam!! :acclaim:

Now to find a gold! :shy:

  4. Comic Art Con is such a great show for the OA lover! You walk into a small banquet room(~35' x 70') and whammy... I'd definitely say a million $ of OA at retail, easy...

There's so much Kirby, your head spins, then you stumble across Ditko, Byrne, Milgrom, Cockrum, Frazetta, McFarlane, Windsor-Smith, Miller, just about anyone you can think of.

As I'm looking through a portfolio, I eavesdrop on a dealer and buyer ironing out a $62K deal. Man, it was like watching pro's play Texas Hold 'em.

Here's some of the pics I snapped:

This page was really cool because I've never seen TMNT drawn on the dotted duo-shade paper, always the hatched paper. Really cool contrast to the norm. Note the dots in the second pic. I also have no idea what it's from... Maybe a CBG promo or some other PR-ish type story?

The CrimeMaster page caught my eye(top middle). It's a Ditko page from ASM Annual #2's pinup gallery

Nice Byrne panels from FF's "The Trial of Galactus"(or better "Let's burn Mr. Fantastic at the stake")

Other noteworthy pages(I'm mainly a Marvel guy outside TMNT so I'm sure there was plenty missed...)

+ Twice up page 1 splash from The Uncanny X-Men vol. 1 issue 4

    + Marvel Tales 234 cover(sweet McFarlane cover!)

Oh wow that Raphael is gorgeous!! I've been looking for something like that. (worship)

  5. I recently was able to complete a personal goal of collecting all the original TMNT oversize books in 9.8. It was quite an endeavour. This might be the first time that they have all been pictured together in 9.8 goodness:

now to get them all SS'd :insane:

Oh my God, that is bad**s!

Is one of those number one's a first printing?

Also, I still don't count Signature Series as true 9.8's. The signatures just aren't worth that much considering the large amount of them and how easily you can obtain them. The signatures also degrade the true 9.8 condition of the book since the ink will eventually bleed through to the pages beneath. Fact.

Guys he's technically right. A plain baseball is much more valuable than a signed one by let's say Babe Ruth. As then it's not considered a "true" baseball and the ink bleeds through the cover and ruins the core. Fact.

  6. I don't know why earlier I thought a 6th print was standard. Between all this TMNT stuff, Batman selling extravaganza, and my store this past couple of weeks my mind is a mess. Thanks again Ryan for these books, you rock man!!! (thumbs u (BTW why should I have known the 6th print is magazine? Ryan sold me this one :insane:) I love the 6th print but when Ryan offered the IDW "First Turtle" booked signed I was all over it. God, I just love this book. :cloud9:

Oh man that Raphael 9.8 is so freakin' sweet, it's on my list. Gorgeous pics and congrats!!! Truly awesome! :headbang:
