  1. I got these in the mail recently. Thanks to PeasOfCrap on facilitating the NYCC 3 SS. Great job with the red ink selection.

For the Turtlemania, I purchased it off ebay a while back and just had it graded. Surprised by the 9.8! Was thinking 9.2/9.4.

I had a 9.8 Turtlemania on eBay all set up and my phone messed up and auction sniper didn't work correctly. Great books!! :) The journey for white 9.8, silver, and gold continues.
  2. Just got this in from eBay. It was sold by KevinEastmanStudios so I would assume it's from Kevin's collection. The book is gorgeous and presents MUCH better than a 7.5 and honestly could be pressed to a 8.5 or so I think. The kicker is, it came with an envelope that had a letter from Kevin, several photo copies of different covers(first turtle, first poster, etc...) and the last was a photo copy of the first cover signed by Kevin. Guys, I'll tell ya, I've met a lot of artists. I have yet to meet Kevin but this guy is the best/friendliest in the business based on this one act. I'm beyond stoked to have this in my collection and will treasure the papers with it forever. :)

  3. I have a quick question about sending in some of the earlier TMNT comics for grading. They are of a bit larger size than regular comics. Does CGC charge the magazine comic rate to grade them? If so, are you allowed to use the 4 free coupons you get with a membership on them or do they not count towards them?
Yes, if I remember correctly CGC will charge you the magazine tier for grading due to the larger size. I believe the coupons are for standard size submissions only. Somebody with a little more expertise in the coupon department might be able to help a little more. ;)
  4. Here's a group shot of the Lego Variants thus far. I always enjoy a good throwback to the old covers. :cloud9:

Anybody know if I'm missing any that are out or if they plan on releasing more? One of them says it's part 2 of the story, the other says it's part 3. How many parts are there and where can I find part 1?

I also found it weird that the book with the #4 homage cover also reprinted the first issue in Lego.

That's all the Lego variants I think Adam. Two released this year at SDCC. I love these covers. :)
  5. Also, to everybody in this TMNT thread, like I told Dan(SpideyFein) I'm selling 90% of collection. I've decided to shift everything to my true passion and that's TMNT. With that said, I'm going to be moving about 900 to 1000 Batman slabs. Yes, you read that correctly. Now, creating price lists, inventory, and stuff is going to be one of the most time consuming adventures I've ever dealt with. With that being said you guys get first dibs at my stuff. Just go to my registry and you'll see everything. EVERYTHING is for sell except anything TMNT, Transformers, and my Dark Knight Returns set. Let me know if you see something. I'll be starting a sales thread soon I hope and I'm starting with 600's to 700's. Like I said, very time consuming but I feel it'll be worth to go after and collect something that's always been a part of my life. Any questions fire away! :)

  6. Yeah, I know. I got burned on it. I paid $100 for it raw. :frustrated: It would grade at maybe 7.0. I'm great at reading conditions but not at knowing what stains and such will deduct from the grade. It would be a good book once pressed and graded to have the guys sign it. :) No to find a silver and gold..... :shy:

$100 isn't bad for it though...it's getting to be a tough book to find for cheap. 20+ years ago I could find that book every day for less than $5. Plus, I'd buy back-issues in bulk sometimes and Turtlemania would included.

Good luck on the Gold & Silver hunt. Very hard books to find. Gold is still something I need but prices have just been too high every time I've had the chance to buy.

What's frustrating is the book is in NM condition wise. No spine ticks, sharp corners, and a press would make it better.
