Does anybody have any suggestions for framing? Type of glass, mats, and stuff. I'm wanting it to be top notch archival stuff so this art and things stay great forever and don't want it to yellow.
-
Well, it came in. I can't wait to get it framed.

Great books toitle!! I love those counterfeit books with sigs. Regardless of authenticity those things are killer and a part of TMNT history, thanks for sharing!!
-
Here is a neat little gem I got yesterday. I'm going to have it pressed and hope it hits a 9.4 or higher. Love to get this puppy signed by Kevin and Peter.

Looks like a guy on HA.com just turned my offer down for a Turtlemania 9.8 white cover. The offer would have had the top spot on the GPA, search continues....
-
Okay, I'll overpay for an item if I want it but that's ridiculous. 11k? You could get a 9.6 first print #1 and some nice rare OA for that. One of the technodromers went and i believe he said one of the asking prices was 11K! Good GodI love how some dealers charge way above FMV when selling and pull out Overstreet when trying to buy from fans...

As long as it went to a TMNT fan I'm happy (thumbs u Finding the raw in good shape is not a huge ordeal but the staples on this book are a nightmare. If you are talking about that one on eBay that ended yesterday - I'm sorry about your system malfunction - at least it went to a fellow TMNT Boardie? -
No, not that I've seen. Really that or gold, especially gold. I would have gotten that 9.8 white if I hadn't had a total system failture. Phone and sniper together. I'll put it this way, I've got enough saved back now and on top of selling my Batman collection off, if a silver, gold, or Gobbledygook #1 & #2 come up. I'm gonna be the new owner.
-
I had a 9.8 Turtlemania on eBay all set up and my phone messed up and auction sniper didn't work correctly. Great books!! The journey for white 9.8, silver, and gold continues.I got these in the mail recently. Thanks to PeasOfCrap on facilitating the NYCC 3 SS. Great job with the red ink selection. For the Turtlemania, I purchased it off ebay a while back and just had it graded. Surprised by the 9.8! Was thinking 9.2/9.4.

Really? Now I really feel like an insufficiently_thoughtful_person because I've been scoping the site everyday for awhile. Thanks guys, I'll get some scans when it comes in. Now to find some older commissions...search continues!^ it's been up for at least a month. Nice work I was looking at that one myself, congrats!! -
Man, it was luck honestly. I've been checking his website like a hawk the last few days and BAM some new stuff got posted yesterday I think(might have been Wednesday night) and I jumped on this piece. Can't wait to see it in person.Chad where was that offered??? I was thinking about the two TMNT #3 pages he has but neither show the turtles. -
Just bought this from Kevin's collection. It's from issue #5, page 8. I'll take a scan when I get it in. It's supposed to ship next week. Can't wait..

I ended up paying around $1200 for it if I remember right. I didn't think that was that bad considering if I wanted it pressed it would grade higher. It was from Kevin though so I didn't give two damns about the grade. I've put some pics of the photocopy number #1 signed and the intro letter.

Just got this in from eBay. It was sold by KevinEastmanStudios so I would assume it's from Kevin's collection. The book is gorgeous and presents MUCH better than a 7.5 and honestly could be pressed to a 8.5 or so I think. The kicker is, it came with an envelope that had a letter from Kevin, several photo copies of different covers(first turtle, first poster, etc...) and the last was a photo copy of the first cover signed by Kevin. Guys, I'll tell ya, I've met a lot of artists. I have yet to meet Kevin but this guy is the best/friendliest in the business based on this one act. I'm beyond stoked to have this in my collection and will treasure the papers with it forever.

Oh wow Adam that's incredible!!Here's a piece I got back a month or two ago. I've had the original Mitchroney piece for some time and I got a chance to hand it off to Steve Lavigne at FCBD this year. As usual, he did a great job with the colors: -
Yes, if I remember correctly CGC will charge you the magazine tier for grading due to the larger size. I believe the coupons are for standard size submissions only. Somebody with a little more expertise in the coupon department might be able to help a little more.I have a quick question about sending in some of the earlier TMNT comics for grading. They are of a bit larger size than regular comics. Does CGC charge the magazine comic rate to grade them? If so, are you allowed to use the 4 free coupons you get with a membership on them or do they not count towards them? -
That's all the Lego variants I think Adam. Two released this year at SDCC. I love these covers. Here's a group shot of the Lego Variants thus far. I always enjoy a good throwback to the old covers.Anybody know if I'm missing any that are out or if they plan on releasing more? One of them says it's part 2 of the story, the other says it's part 3. How many parts are there and where can I find part 1?
I also found it weird that the book with the #4 homage cover also reprinted the first issue in Lego.

Got some stuff in from CGC today. Really glad this Lego Edition came back 9.8, tough to find in good shape. Also got back 4 Limited Edition sketch pack 30th Anniversary books. Just love that cover.

Look's like I won the #3 variant that KevinEastmanStudios was selling on eBay. Beyond stoked!!

Also, to everybody in this TMNT thread, like I told Dan(SpideyFein) I'm selling 90% of collection. I've decided to shift everything to my true passion and that's TMNT. With that said, I'm going to be moving about 900 to 1000 Batman slabs. Yes, you read that correctly. Now, creating price lists, inventory, and stuff is going to be one of the most time consuming adventures I've ever dealt with. With that being said you guys get first dibs at my stuff. Just go to my registry and you'll see everything. EVERYTHING is for sell except anything TMNT, Transformers, and my Dark Knight Returns set. Let me know if you see something. I'll be starting a sales thread soon I hope and I'm starting with 600's to 700's. Like I said, very time consuming but I feel it'll be worth to go after and collect something that's always been a part of my life. Any questions fire away!

What's frustrating is the book is in NM condition wise. No spine ticks, sharp corners, and a press would make it better.Yeah, I know. I got burned on it. I paid $100 for it raw. It would grade at maybe 7.0. I'm great at reading conditions but not at knowing what stains and such will deduct from the grade. It would be a good book once pressed and graded to have the guys sign it. No to find a silver and gold.....$100 isn't bad for it though...it's getting to be a tough book to find for cheap. 20+ years ago I could find that book every day for less than $5. Plus, I'd buy back-issues in bulk sometimes and Turtlemania would included.
Good luck on the Gold & Silver hunt. Very hard books to find. Gold is still something I need but prices have just been too high every time I've had the chance to buy.
