Yep, Friction Hose referred to their line as “The Big 6”. So you need six to be complete.

Planets are not really tough. Just very popular and thusly very pricey. Knocking out the first one is a cool thing!

I’ve always thought it would be cool to do a group shot like this off all the books put out in a certain month. It always seems like I am missing at least one...:roflmao:

Cool book Miami, congrats! Yeah, great WWII aviation content in that one. All the #1's from the big six huh? That will be a nice group. I have only two and most likely be as far as I get. Wouldn't mind a Planet #1 though. Never owned one. I've picked at the run for like forever and only have about 2/3rds of them.

These are great RM. I thought it was 5 tittles but you are most likely correct and I missed one lol

Planets are tough.  I had to sacrifice a lot to get my planet 1 and I'm still missing a few pages lol

That jungle one is so pretty

Thanks guys! The #13 and #19 here are particular gems. They were from that complete run of Rangers that was auctioned on ebay the winter before last... some of you here might remember. Quite the feeding frenzy!

Yes, I remember. They had a really nice 2 & 3 well they were all nice lol

Wow, awesome run and so hard to put together. I've been looking for some of those single digit issues forever.

On an easier scale, here is the run of all the Matt Baker issues of this title.

Thanks @Robot Man I can honestly say it was truly fun putting this group of books together. By the way that is one nice run of bakers in the rangers tittle. Thank you for sharing

Which way to marry? I have two copies of Rangers #21, one missing the centerfold, and the other missing an interior page towards the back. I'd like to put together a complete married copy for resale.

While both are close in technical grade, copy A has better eye-appeal, with better reds and the biggest flaw, a non-color breaking crease down the center, not that distracting. It is missing a page towards the back, and has a detached centerfold.

Copy B has a 3/4" split at the bottom which  goes through the whole book, and some paper loss on the spine, though there is no split or hole there, it's just the color, some minor color chipping along the bottom, and a spot of rust on the staple. It is missing a centerfold.

Page quality is about the same in both books.

The easiest thing to do is take the detached centerfold from copy A and place it in copy B for a complete married copy.

To marry the missing page in copy A would require dismantling both books and replacing the wrap with the one from copy B , unless I did something stupid like just tore out the page (I won't). I know from experience this is a bit of a pain, getting the staple to line up with the holes on reassembly, but the better looking copy would be the one to be complete.

Or should I just sell them as a pair, and let someone else make the call?

    Copy A
