  1. I didn't know Byrne was signing books now, hope they find your copy.
  2. Tough call, I'd call pressing restoration in the most loose sense. No, the book wasn't soaked in methyl cellulose to clean it, had the staples replaced or trimmed. However, the bottom line is you've improved a books appearance and most certainly increased it's value. I don't see it as a downfall as I've owned pressed books. Sure, I'll flip a book over and search for ripples; the most telling way to see if a books been pressed or not? At the end of the day it's not comprehensive restoration and I don't believe CGC needs to notate it.
  3. @Cyborg-Sinister I think it only adds to the uniqueness of the book. Not his typical sig and pretty cool.
  4. @speedcake I'd have too agree with @Kripsys99. It's a mixed bag on the reading front but for me they lean in the direction of being worth it. Having read from about '78 till '91 I also never read a single issue of Batman, I was a Marvel guy, shame on me. When I got back into comics (2011) I went back and read all the Batman books. Nothing is really terrible. The Brave and the Bold offer some fun reads, especially anything with Deadman. If your taste is in the vein of mystery and horror aim for stories by O'Neil and Wein, pure fun.
  5. @Readcomix I've always thought that about 230, such a reflection of the times and superb image of the DK. Underrated indeed.
  6. @gunsmokin I deleted the conversation without even thinking I could be getting scammed. I'm hoping an Administrator will see this and will flag Tonnyy.
  7. Hi collectors, I may be in the wrong place but I'm coming here first. I received an inbox message from Tonnyy, who told me that person by the name of Preston Steven had a book I was looking for, House of Secrets 81. So of course I emailed this person. They responded with let's just say gibberish (no formality) and asked what I was willing to pay? My response, send me a photo of the book and I'll make you an offer. The photo finally came through, it was picture of HOS 81 9.4 Pacific Coast pedigree. Once again his response was "tell me your budget and I'll get it shipped to you today." The photo appeared lifted so I replied kindly and asked for a photo of him holding the book. No reply. I thought this was important enough to share.
  8. Thanks for sharing. I know for myself and many others, Neal's Batman is unequivocally their choice. That being said I've also noticed a surge in prices which at one time was reserved for issues 227, 232, 237, 244 and 251. That's gone and in my opinion rightly so as collectors recognize Neal's artistic merit. I recently added 221 simply for the cover alone, I feel it's his best on the run and outshines 227.
  9. Having grown up in the Boston area I would recommend stoping by New England Comics, they are spread out in NE. They carried a good selection of Silver/Golden comics.
