  1. Anyone check out the webidodes on AMC.com? Pretty decent way to get you excited for season 3.
  2. Yup, I bought them already...now to hunt that variant for the price you mentioned because that's outrageously cheap I'm one of those suckers for variants. I'm trying as best as i can to get all ASM's including variants (some will be near impossible though) That use to be me, but I sold the majority of my variants to start saving to get a copy of AF #15. variants just don't hold their value so I will just get the cheap affordable variants that I like. Happy hunting though. I'm not really in this for the $ aspect as much as I am for collecting "all" asm issues. Life long goal for sure, but i'd love the day i could say i own every ASM book normal and variants. In general though, i try not to overpay for my books as I have a real good relationship with some LCS and dealers to get variants as a decent price. This will be my first 1:700...in fact, has there ever been another 1:700 or higher? I'm a huge Spidey fan and I was hoping to collect all the variants, 2nd printings, and convention exclusive issues. But it just became too much and I gave up. My focus is not the 8 issues I'm missing form the Ditko issues and I will be content with missing most of the variant covers. I can't remember a 1 in 700 ratio cover for any comic in recent memory. Good luck though.
  3. Weird then...As DCBS has all the ones you listed as 1:50 for cover price. Well they have the normal cover for 50% off. They can probably offer the 1 in 50 covers at such a discounted rate because, Diamond is giving them such a deep discount for the normal cover. If DCBS is selling the regular cover for 3.99 they have to be getting the comic even cheaper from Diamond to be turning a profit on the sale. So they can afford to sell the 1 in 50 variants at a lower rate. Publishers will heavily discount books like DC did with the New 52 and the Before Watchmen series and like what Marvel is doing with their Marvel Now books, so retailers will heavily order.

  5. No longer available but you can get the other variants for a reasonable price though. http://www.dcbservice.com/category.aspx?id=4
  6. #700 ratio's will be Steve Ditko 1 in 200 Anniversary 1 in 50 Marcos Martin 1 in 50 Humberto Ramos Wraparound 1 in 50 Olivier Coipel 1 in 50 Joe Quesada 1 in 700
  7. (thumbs u That's the right approach. No need to ragequit a title because of variant overkill - keep buying the standard covers and enjoy the read. That's the plan. I was killing my wallet trying to find all the variants, 2nd printings, convention exclusives etc etc of Amazing Spider-Man. So I'm just going to get the standard covers and focus on filling in the missing 8 issues of my collection.
  8. You can go to dcbservice.com and order the #700 1 in 200 Ditko cover for $200 and the 1 in 700 Quesada variant for $350. I'm done with variants as they don't hold their value and are getting annoying trying to collect them all.
  9. Great buyer! Enjoy the sketches.
  10. I use to get every Amazing Spider-Man variant. But the announcement of issue #700's insane 1 in 200 and 1 in 700 variant has made me stop getting anymore variant covers.
  11. Any Silver Age graded issues that begin with a 9 are out of my price range
  12. After further review how the heck is this a 5.0 and the one I just bought a 6.5? I may have to resumbit the 5.0...
  13. I like how rare that guy thinks the book is, it borders on comical. Yeah it's a rare modern cover, but Lee's signature doesn't bump it up over 6K from the previous 9.8 that sold.
  14. Normally I'd agree but this variant seems to have been under ordered and is more scarce than the typical 1 in 50 variants. I've only had one copy, I got mine for $25 and couldn't resist selling mine for $175. Haven't seen the variant at any cons in the South that I've been to. Do I think 1,000 is a bit much, yeah. As variants don't hold their value very well. But this and the Del'Otto #676 variant seem to be very scarce.
  15. Guy who sold it is a friend of mine. I laughed at him when he posted it as a Buy It Now for $1200. I kept telling him to take the $500 offer as it's a modern variant and will never increas ein value unless all other copies are destroyed. He stuck to his guns and got weay more than I'd ever pay. I sold a raw copy for $175 on ebay, but it was nowhere near a 9.8. Hats off to him for getting that much for it.
  16. Trust me. Crain is worth the wait. I have waited for a year between books from him back when he wasn't doing commissions and those books were worth it. I know his wait time is a bit longer now than it was a few months ago since he has started doing his own book but it isn't too long and he has been cranking out some crazy good stuff. Oh yeah, I'm pretty excited to get one from him when my name comes up. All the cover work I've seen him do are just absolutely brilliant.
  17. Signed up for his commission list through his website, just waiting... Enjoy this hobby but it requires patience.
  18. Ratings are huge, and continue to be huge. Once the ratings fall off for the show I expect the back issue prices to be more reasonable. I've read the series since #60 in single issues and in trade prior to that. I'm enjoying it, but it's def not the first book I read in my stack of comics every month.
  19. I have a Zeck Kraven sketch cover coming my way. Worth every penny as Kraven's Last hunt is one of my all time favorite Spidey stories. Great pickup on the Kraven prelim!
  20. Tempted, Laura Martin usually goes to Mega Con so I may try to eventually get it colored.
