  1. Latest sketch cover commission by the ultra talented Nick Bradshaw current penciler on Wolverine & The X-Men. This probably overtakes my Spidey vs Lizard by Bachalo as my favorite piece of commission art I own.
  2. Clayton's colors are just out of this world. Congrats.
  3. Great book just read #5 and I can't wait for the next issues. Going to be a long few months waiting for #7.
  4. Very cool! Congrats!!! I'm only missing 10 issues myself, but it'll be awhile before I complete it, as the 10 I'm missing are 1,2,3,4,7,9,10,11,14 & 16. They won't come cheap.
  5. Just picked these up One of my personal favorite covers featuring all of Spidey's supporting cast Also got a 7.5 #194 & #252 9.2
  6. I agree, I generally aim for the better presented lower grade copies. These can represent great VFM. Personally I always buy the book, NEVER the label, then I don't usually regret what I have bought. Its a simple philosophy but it works for me. No doubt if I had the funds I would be buying the best copy I possibly could, and then label chasing would come into it. Until the day comes when the Lottery God smiles on me I will have to pursue these types of examples. Here's another that arrived with the #19 As with the #19, I haven't decided to whether to crack it yet Nice copy. Is that a book you submitted or did you buy it already graded?
  7. These are in my price range so I concentrate on them. Look pretty good to me.
  8. #28 is almost impossible to find in a High Grade, but when you do see them in the 7.5-9.2 range they look fantastic with the all black cover. Beautiful design by Ditko, one of his more impressive covers.
  9. Just finished reading #100, and wow I didn't expect ____ to die. I expected it to be someone else and I'm glad I was wrong. I've really thought the comic was running on fumes ever since Rick's group got to the community but this latest development has upped the ante and direction of the series.
  10. Issues with the most 9.8 graded copies… 1. #33 with 25 Great news as this is one of my favorite covers. Too bad 9.8 is out of my price range so I'll aim to buy a 7.0-8.5 copy in the near future
  11. My favorite is the gold suit. The gold suit is def a CGC 9.6
  12. Posted this in the group shot thread but thought I would post it here also. Pictured are #5,6,8,12,13,15,17-49 & 51-137 I don't have a ungraded copy of #50 as I haven't been able to find one in my price range and in the condition I want.
  13. Group shot of my Amazing Spider-Man collection. Missing 10 isues from a full run. Maybe in the next year or so I'll complete it. #5, 6, 8, 12, 13, 15, 17-31 #32-49, 51-53 (I don't have a #50 ungraded, have a copy CGC 5.0) #54-74 #75-95 #96-116 #117-137 Since this is a Silver Age thread I stopped at #137. Enjoy.
  14. Can't believe I'm just now stumbling upon this thread. I'm a huge Spidey fan, and have been trying to collect the entire run for a few years now. I currently have every issue of Amazing Spider-Man from #17-689. Also have #5, 6, 8, 12, 13 & 15. So I'm only missing 10 issues from having the entire run. This doesn't include Amazing Fantasy #15, which I'm saving for last...if ever. In regards to the Annuals I have #1, 16-the most recent one. Most of my early issues range from Good to Fine. I try to get Silver Age issues with no writing on the cover, no tears and no pages missing. Date stamps are okay, but I'm pretty picky when it comes to what I buy. I have a few of my favorite covers CGC'd
  15. As much as the I love the Walking Dead I'm waiting for the bubble to burst. The TV show is very popular, the comic is very good, but I don't see this series (comic) being a series that is something we look back at and is as valuable as Silver Age Marvel comics (Amazing Fantasy #15, X-Men #1 or others). So it was easy for me to cash in on the recent craze and unload my single issue run of #5-98, I got a great price for them. I always have the trades if I want to re read the story and I sold the few pages I had of original art for triple what i paid for them. My suggestion would be to wait untilt he popularity dies down which it undoubtedly will like most Image series. Remember how much Spawn was selling back in the 90's? So while I hope the tv show has a long successful run, I can't see the comics holding their value down the line.
  16. I asked Jock in London not to personalize my sketches. I don't want to sell them, but I just want the artists art and name on my blank and nothing else. I'm no expert but from the handful of artist I've spoken to they feel much better about a personalized sketch than a non personalized one. To each their own, all my sketch covers are for my personal collection, and not for sale, so I like a little personalization. But there are some of my sketch covers I've gotten where I actually forget to ask them to personalize it, typically if I get caught up in a convo witht he artist or other fans waiting in line.
  17. I love when artist do this to mess with people who try to profit from someone else's talent. It's why i usually ask for the artist to personalize it so they don't think I'm trying to sell their work.
  18. I have a totla of ZERO yellow label books but will change that very shortly...
  19. Not a Yankee fan but as a fan of the game and the history of baseball that is pretty cool.
  20. No, it's a magazine rack I bought from a Borders book store as they were going out of business. They were selling all of their book cases, shelving etc etc and this display was something I thought would look cool displaying comics and sketch covers. I usually swap out what I display in it.
  21. Any raw books I buy on Ebay I ask the seller for multiple scans, if they aren't going to do that I don't bid. Plain and simple. For every sweet deal I've gotten I've gotten books returned to me by CGC with a much lower grade than I thought.
