  1. Tune in for next month's episode of The Walking Outrage People reading the TPBs have it so much better.
  2. A bunch of modern, non-nostalgic drek (at the time)
  3. ... also saw reference to it here http://octavioaragao.blogspot.co.uk/2011/03/high-water-marks-and-shadows-interview.html
  4. I can't even explain how annoyed I am about this. I am from Vancouver, so I see him at local shows all the time, but I always just say hi instead of expressing my displeasure (in a nice way). The amount of unfinished Image series that I have is making me rethink my loyalty to the company for sure. Maybe it's just me but I think quite a few people kinda just expected a number of Image titles would either stall or finish early but probably didn't think it was worht voicing it much. There's what 3 or 4 image titles in the top 100 that are in double digits? That's not to say there aren't any long running current ongoing series... Walking Dead, Saga, Invincible, Revival (hats off to Seeley and Norton that's good going), etc... however it's plain to see at the outset they are putting out indie books with a small creative team so they aren't all going to run like clockwork and they aren't all going to finish. Sorry to hear you have had some tough breaks. Trying to get squatters out sucks. When I moved house years ago I decided to rent out my original property rather than sell and we had tennants at one point that decided not to pay and just squat for months. Thankfully that is all behind us now but we still curse a lot if the subject ever comes up. It's a really really situation. I haven't kept my finger on the online pulse regularly but from what I have read I can imagine that RQ (enjoyable as it has been) behind the scenes has taken a lot of effort to keep going. Best of luck with PP... a couple of titles that I really love have been really stop start over the years but still have me waiting on them e.g. "The Stuff of Legend" 2009 (#1) - present (#15)... taking a long break doesn't mean it won't happen. I'm sometimes surprised that creators still bother to post here. Don't get me wrong, I think it's great to see the interaction but I can understand why a lot just don't and prefer to keep to their own chosen social media format. Then again if you have people who are passionate about your stories... can't be all bad right? *sigh* Being able to reach out and communicate with anyone anywhere is pretty powerful and on this messageboard with that power comes great irresponsibility but not all the time...
  5. Definitely some nice pages that have been sold at a reasonable price. The TWD OA market is still an interesting one to watch both on the secondary market and at source as more and more gets published. Next month it's going to be very close to 700 pieces on offer at source... the better stuff still gets snapped up, just wish that it was still all done on one board (personal preference) as the artwork is a lot stronger now than it has been at times. As a relatively recent collector it's a little bit of an education seeing where this all goes from start to wherever it ends up, especially seeing as this is a comic in triple digits which is almost unheard of in 2016
  6. Pretty much agree with all of this. We can be the harshest critics... of course I can't speak for everyone, maybe it's just me Probably not though. Personally I have really struggled a lot with this kind of thing in the past, to give you examples I couldn't bring myself to watch Batman Begins until 3 years after it was released (which I now find pretty laughable, but I am also sure I wouldn't have enjoyed it as much had I watched it at release), I didn't start watching TWD until it was into Season 3 already. Since Batman Begins I have taken most comic related movies and TV shows with a healthy pinch of salt which has helped, although I still have never been able to sit through the entirity of the "Watchmen" film yet. If anything this thread is making me twitch more about the impending "Preacher" series *shudder* ... any guesses on the amount of outrage on the boards when the first few episodes have hit? It's also no different with movie buffs, hardcore gamers or any other die hards out there regarding their particular passion... and there's no harm in being passionate about something. General concensus in this household is that JDM was really good as Negan, really good, the non comic reading people watching it with me were saying that out loud during the last scene. Andrew Lincoln and the others were IMHO on point as well. The dialogue was censored but then I'll appreciate it more on Blu Ray, the speech was still well delivered. He does look less imposing compared to my mental image of Negan but at least he's taller than Rick and the performance gave him that menacing calculated edge that is level up from the Governor's brand of crazy. The build up was ok too, a bit cheesy at the start with that racing heartbeat drum in the background setting the tone, however a lot of the music seems to have developed into a bit of a John Carpenter homage which I hadn't really noticed so strongly until now. That made me grin I also was wondering what they would do with the ultimate arrival of the Saviours because in #100 it was very sudden and would have been a throwaway scene on TV, well played. I can understand why it was left with a big question mark hanging over the death. Starter for 10 how much press is this getting right now? It's ridiculous, re-pegging-diculous. Then there's the pacing of the show, which seems to be the biggest problem out there with the casuals, "OMG this is boooring", "Nobody died", "There wasn't any zombies!", "Nothing happened", "It's the same plot as last time, they find a safe haven then someone bad comes along.". A few of my colleagues have lost interest in it in earlier seasons during the slower episodes, some people don't seem to be content sitting back and watching a slow burn plot unfold which is a shame... so maybe they want to pull a few people straight back into it come S7. I don't care too much about the cliff hanger device, I'll certainly forgive it if they find enough fuel in it to then slow down and pursue some character development. If as suggested by Techoodoo they will do some kind of dickdance around this then I'll be pegging pegged off! Urgh... that would be the worst outcome. Fingers crossed it's Glenn that gets it. Abraham could well be a possibility too but his new relationship just doesn't feel ripe enough to spawn the same dynamic that we saw with Maggie and Rick in the comic... in fact it feels like Maggie wouldn't have the strength to pull that off anyway so that's a bit frustratng. I guess I am not reacting much as I haven't really ever set my expectations about this show too high in the first place, and probably lowered them further after Darabont left. Game of Thrones on the other hand has my highest hopes because its production/budget doesn't seem to have faltered throughout and it has more freedom. It too strays from the source at times, but is still a far far superior show compared to TWD, and maybe it and a handful of others set the bar for everyting else? There's other superb shows out there to choose from and TWD doesn't sit at the very top of the pile but it's plenty good enough and just the right side of different from the comics as it stands. Over the past few years there has actually been too much I want to see released for me to even watch. Regarding modern comics TWD seems to be the have been the measuring stick for a long time in lots of discussions, that doesn't mean the same goes for the TV show.
  7. Seeing as Aparo 70's Batman is on there I'd be interested to see where people think A level Aparo / Nolan - "Knightfall" slots in?
  8. Holy shizzle on a stick. Congrats to the buyer. What is the Fair Market Estimate of this piece if it came to auction ? ... in a few days you will get your answer it seems link? http://www.ebay.com/itm/The-Walking-Dead-19-Original-Art-Page-18-Charlie-Adlard-1st-Michonne-No-Reserve-/172096716479

  10. Great joke! Better joke http://m.ebay.com/itm/THE-WALKING-DEAD-150-RETAILER-EXCLUSIVE-LIMITED-VARIANT-COVER-1-per-store-1-13-/221986313615?nav=SEARCH
  11. Holy shizzle on a stick. Congrats to the buyer. What is the Fair Market Estimate of this piece if it came to auction ? Earlier pages in that issue have gone for approx $8K IIRC. I don't think it would go quite that high though, however it's a real plus that it also has the two chained zombies featured on the cover... visually there's no mistaking which issue it's from. If I had to guess I'd say $3.5-5K. It's one of those pages that has appeal as well as further potential in years to come, so it would certainly attract some agressive bidding.
  12. "now our big is going to swing harder and faster until we take off like a m********** helicopter and blow all these m*********s away" ... and that's not even the sweariest sentence I could have chosen... I know it's too soon but it's already got me thinking of the "All Out War" arc... parts of that will play out so well on the TV show.
  13. ... wow. My favourite of the bunch by far. Interesting to see the Tony Moore post too. It's not even April!
  14. From now on I am pronouncing it Negreanu. Just been catching up with this thread... jeez I thought this one had been cleared up aaages ago https://youtu.be/euuclC_KVZk?t=571
  15. A few of the sketches I got from Thought Bubble this weekend... Nimona - http://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1273432 Duncan (Mind MGMT) - http://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1273435 V (for Vendetta) - http://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1273441 Really enjoyed myself, very sociable event.
  16. Well.. If they do variants for all issues at the same rate (not just #1) then there will be more covers than interiors
  17. Just watched it... Yeah there's enough there to scrape a way out for Glenn. It doesn't make sense to change the character for the #100 story. I can't think of a parallel relationship between characters in the TV series which would have the same impact in a retelling, or one that could be forged in a short amount of time. If anything getting Glenn reunited with Maggie yet again would ripen things. Besides we still have some other pretty traumatic events ahead in No Way Out to come so the early exit doesn't make sense.
  18. Really looking forward to seeing the characters brought to life on the small screen... especially Ampersand
  19. I can't say exactly. Goran offered me a page from his personal collection. I could not say no to that. I did not make not of which page. It does have Yorick and 355 on it. Congrats. He only had one page on offer in his portfolio last month. There aren't that many in general left out in the wild now, the ones at Cadence are pretty pricey.
  20. That one is brilliant. I can't believe I didn't happen across it yet on CAF. That one panel has transcended comics.
  21. Cheers buddy. The girls had fun and I was really made up with what I got. I had to apologise to Glenn when I requested that particular sketch which I am sure he has done plenty of times before.
