  1. From my limited experience with injection molding, if there were any structural/visual defects (blistering, warping, or gassing) the buyers wouldn't accept the pieces. We'd have to fine tune the press until it was right or lose business. Either the manufacturer changed materials/specs or CGC found another supplier. Either way accepting this as normal (when it was rarely if ever an issue) and passing it on to the paying customer is unacceptable. I too disagree with the "this will not effect the book" response. This will leave an indentation on the book. I've got some sub coupons to use and was planning on submitting additional books @ Baltimore. I will just utilize my coupons since they expire in a few months. I guess if there's any positive side to this, CCS, JoeyPost and anyone who presses will benefit from the plethora of books that will have these crater impressions.

  2. There have been enough red flags waived on this item. If Ebay truly cared about their "community" they would pull the plug and have much better parameters in place by banning scammers and preventing these scum from initiating new accounts. I know the trash heap that burned me about a decade ago had at least 4 accounts. Still stings when I think about it, then anger sets in. It's good there are so many on these boards that police this kind of thing. It's just unfortunate that some poor/clueless person could end up with a big dollar repro and a migraine headache of red tape to try to recoup the loss. Ebay and their damage/image control of hush don't tell on the boards is shrewd. I started selling again on there within the last year, but when they allow this to happen repeatedly, I decided to pull the plug on selling, big fees and weak support all around.

  3. Anyone interested in : Silver spideys VG/F range 42-48, 52-54, 57, 68, #300 (8.0)? Silver X-Men 7 (5.0), 16 x2 (3.5 & 4.0), 17x2 (6.0 & 7.0), 18 (3.5), 28 (6.0), 38 (7.0), 40 (3.0). Iron Fist 14 (4.5), Hulk 340 (9.0-9.2), Ghost Rider #1 (bronze age 6.0) and one DC, the "rare" Flash 106, pink cover 1st Pied Piper in (4.0).

I don't want to post them if no one is interested and since my being a newb here, not sure what kind of hits I'd get. If no one is interested I'll post them on fee-bay and take their hits if I have to.

  4. So, Modern "20 day" turn around is actually 20 weeks? Wow. Was going to send some in, was dissuaded by the "registered rate" for shippng ($44 for 6 modern books, really?) and now further dissuaded by the turnaround time. WOW. :pullhair:

  5. Been away from collecting for about 8 years; buying a money pit house puts the clobbering on being a collector of anything. Anyway, I had some spending money and this itch to start looking at silver again.

I had to just scratch that darn little itch.

They're far from perfect and probably not slab worthy over some of my other stuff, but the prices were right.
