  1. Well then. That's one. We'll see how this goes.
  2. that's a bit of an exaggeration no? I see one listed for 300 that no one is buying for that much, the rest of the sales from this weekend are around 60-90 raw and an anomaly for 130. not even close to 10x. the first prints are selling for 10x because they were still mostly at cover price when people picked them up. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=17082&item=171694353076&rt=nc&print=all&si=0eSpblYV6nEHudbz92Fy5mNQF0A%3D I saw that, but who knows what was actually accepted. for all we know he could have got it for 150.
  3. If this book wasn't selling last month before the Sony/Marvel news broke I'd agree with you. If this book wasn't the first appearance of a modern character I believe Marvel intends to continue using in the future I'd agree with you. This hasn't just popped up since last week when the blogger made his rumour rumble in the media. I guess if you had never heard of the book before and saw the latest ebay sales it would seem silly though. In any case there is no harm in buying a few of these at low prices, I mean $5 for a 1st print or $20-30 for the variant isn't going to break anyone. The book was trending up slightly a month ago, before movie speculation was ever whispered, before Marvel and Sony struck their deal even, but it most definitely didn't pop until either of those things happened, so let's not pretend this was the result of a natural increase in demand for the book, because it most definitely is not. Of course not, I agree with you. It is just naive to think there was zero demand for this book before last week. There was very little. And an incentive variant selling for 10x what it was selling for a month ago is absurd, regardless of whether the character in question actually has a fan base or not. that's a bit of an exaggeration no? 6. I found a copy in the bottom of some deep dark drawers of a pretty big shop a couple weeks ago for 30 bucks that appears to be 9.8. I think it has been there for years. I can't see any flaws on it, will be getting it graded sometime soon. Was pretty happy when I pulled it out.
  7. Never ordered anything from Atomic Avenue before but all these first hand accounts of backed out deals due to seller greed and/or incompetence are guaranteeing I won't even bother in the future.
  8. The Dark Age sounds a little too cliche so how about Tin Age?
  9. Even that may prove fruitless pretty soon. Uncanny X-Men #221 has been on fire lately and it hasn't even been announced that Mr. Sinister will be in the movies. Value based completely on hope. what do you consider lately? I started trying to piece together a complete X-Men run from 144-300 about 5 years ago and 221 is just one of those issues that is missing from every box I look in. I'm not going to pay a premium for it since it is a relatively "unknown" character who is the main hook but what the hell.
  10. Who knew, though?!??! This is craziness! People basically knew but they didn't foresee the massive demand and hype. I had a stack of 10 EOSV #2 in my hands the week it came out and I picked out the best two figuring "hey it's Gwen after all this time I'll get a couple just in case it blows up" ....
  11. I have to share this Groo haul I got from ebay a few months ago, from a relatively local collector's estate sale.
  12. I have the biggest dilema with that book.. I have multiple quantities and I wanna get them pre-screend, but in the event that they wont pass, they would just be unbagged.. And even though thats not gonna totally kill the book it would probably still deem it less desirable to some.. Thought? I got a copy but I don't think it came bagged when I got it off the shelf years ago... Did they all come bagged? Yes.. To my knowledge.. The 2nd Print is very similar to the 1st and is unbagged. Here are the differences: 1st print 2nd: Thanks. Going to check again when I get home. Maybe it is bagged and I forgo. Its been in a box since I got it Well my First print copy is still bagged so its an original. time to get it graded How does grading work for sealed books like that? Does CGC unwrap it and grade it? Fwiw you can still find these around, I checked out an LCS this week and got myself 3 copies and also one of the 1:25 variant (which is a 9.8 candidate). Still relatively cheap at the stores compared to ebay.
  13. Yea I found 20+ issues of Hellblazer ranging from #46-#100 in VF/NM condition in a 25cent bin at an antique mall recently. Yea I bought them all.
