Why don't the CGC notes state the first apps like every other CGC copy of that book? -

Finally caught up, just read #6 and #7. What was Ishmael doing there? Creeping? I like where this book is going, tons of action and badassery and the art is awesome. -

Yeah, this is pretty revealing here. How about last week when I walked into a comic shop that's been around since the 80's, (I went there as a kid) and I start browsing the back issue bins, he's got a ton of stock, and he says "None of the back issues are for sale, I have to re-price everything". I had a Batman #442 in my hand, the first book I picked out before he noticed me looking, and wouldn't even let me buy it for the $8 sticker price. -
Yep that guy's YouTube video was painful to watch.

Moderns that are heating up on ebay!
Couchy81 replied to thirdgreenham's topic in Modern Age Comic Books
So is Batman 40 going to be more hot in the long run or 41? Well after Superman beats the stuffing out of Batman in the movie, and Jim Gordon pulls out his War Machine suit to take his place for a bit, I'd say issue 41. Otherwise, it probably depends on how long they can keep the joker (or Bruce) dead for. Divergence #1 if you're looking for first appearance of Gordon as Batman. -
Now that is a nice looking book! (thumbs u Good luck to whomever gets this catch, they are only going to get harder and harder to find. (thumbs u That actually is a gorgeous 9.4 for sure. Someone is going to be a lucky fan.

Btw, is that Aquaman's trident and Wonder Woman's lasso? Aquaman's Trident, Wonder Woman's lasso, Batman's belt, Superman's cape... Looks like Sinestro's ring and another ring as well. Is that all from JLA 40? It's not from JL 40. The splash in question is from divergence FCBD. None of this is in JL 40. You guys are killin me. Let's make this easy. Under the Red Hood is a GREAT movie. If you like DC you gotta checkout their recent animated films. -

Stopped by two stores today after work, between the two of them no Batman 40 except two copies of the Mask for $20 a pop. I did find a nice copy of JL40 1:25 for $11 though. Still plenty of the regular JL40 around. Probably not too much talk about it with all the other stuff going on this past week. -

Moderns that are heating up on ebay!

I don't mind holding Batman comics, especially this arc. It will always sell and appreciate IMHO. Agreed. This is one of those "once a decade" runs that really matter in the long run. People won't forget these and they will likely always be in demand. So far Snyder has three of the "once a decade" arcs in the first 40 issues IMHO - Court/Night of Owls; Death of the Family; and this one. He's good. This is the opinon of everyone who has read New 52 Batman. I wonder if the people who think these books will be in dollar bins at the end of the summer have read them yet? -

Do people buy them at that price? I thought most eBay prices are due to demand from people not near a comic shop who have no better option than ordering online. Surely the people near a comic shop can grab it for cover elsewhere? -

That's what people are saying Cool. Wait......is it just a cameo? Or is it the first full appearance? Will it be recognized without her on the cover? Here is the spoiler filled scoop. http://www.bleedingcool.com/forums/forum/comics-the-front-page/front-page-comic-news/1717002-the-first-appearance-of-darkseid-s-daughter-spoilers Her origin and name are in Divergence. Looks like JL40 could be a cameo -

Grabbed a 1:25 and Mask cover this morning. The store had 3 and sold out in 10 min. I also have a regular cover and combo ordered through my regular guy. Wonder if selling all of them together would be worthwhile over individually... Also is TMNT #44 still hot ? I found a first print cover B for cover price at a store today, they said all their shipments are behind so they just got it today. It was the only copy.. Guess I got lucky. -

Went to the annual flea market at the local church over the weekend, found this lot of graphic novels, a hardcover book and a couple comics all for a crisp five dollar bill. -
Those census numbers are not based on "rarity", they're based on the book not being slab worthy. Expect those numbers to drastically increase in the coming weeks and months. -J. Yea carter just subbed 16 copies ofc it's going to drastically increase

Interesting. Some people here were so pessimistic about this book, and Miles, in February. That's why you don't listen to the forums, buy what you like. I certainly wasn't pessimistic about Miles in February. I was rationale. Many people were off their rocker stating he was going to be the next big screen version of Spider-man. Regardless of the movie speculation, people (not you specifically) were just dismissing this book in general, despite the fact Miles has a growing fan base and Marvel has intent to use this character well into the near future. I think they were mostly Peter Parker nut huggers though and didnt like the attention Miles was getting. ....or they were simply turned off by the blatant attempts at pimping and pumping of a dollar bin book with obviously fake movie hype. And it worked to a large degree. Even though this character cannot sustain a solo title, there are some (dealers, mostly) who believe (or at least proclaim, over and over) that he is more popular and relevant than he actually is. I'm not saying there is not potential there. But Miles Morales' reach has already far exceeded his grasp. Plus, the vast, vast majority of people actually want to see Spider-Man in a Spider-Man movie. (thumbs u -J. There was definitely pimping and pumping but that goes on with any book, any character based on any movie rumour. The rumour in this case turned out to be false, but that was months ago and look at the strong sales for this book and the variant in the past two weeks alone. The store I got my multiple copies from for $6 each back in January has a regular copy on their wall at $30 as of April. It wasn't up there in February or March. That's not because he has a movie coming out, it's because it's his first appearance and he's in demand, therefore a popular character. The movie hype is long gone but the sales remain consistent.
