I was thinking... When Nintendo and Playstation and XBOX put out new consoles, this type of mania frenzy happens. And there are tens of thousands of those, but still..... Frenzy. A friend of mine sold a PS3 for 2G's on release day. Just thought that may put the current scenario in perspective for those wondering what the heck is happening. Andy : this guy is not buying @ $100 If you go back 30 pages (or so) I have offered my opinion on variants. Summary - they: (1) promote books, (2) promote sales, (3) promote readership Publishers don't care about the secondary market value. This is all to increase readership.

One other thing Silver: limited variants create buss and hype for completionists - make them a must have, hence driving the price up (FYI).

Silver: that's basically it. Hot, like it, buy it, complete the collection. Plus it's rare. Katchoo: I don't know what to say that hasn't already been said.
