So just got a scanner today and figured I would take a scan of the comic that just came in the mail for all you guys!

Which one is being referred to as the SDCC one? I've heard people refer to the Third Eye Variant and the CBLDF as a SDCC.

Third Eye is a Con variant from the Northeast.

CBLDF was a Fundraiser at SDCC

Did anyone notice they (CGC) bumped up the modern turnaround (non-fast track) to 70 day?

Yeah...looks like they are falling farther behind with con season here.

Is anyone else disgusted by this variant tear they are on. It's unsettling and a clear money grab. I was a loyal reader and happily bought the very few variants that were released. Now every issue needs some ploy to increase the numbers?

 

It has completely turned me off to continuing my run. I'm being punished for being a fan if they expect that collectors should dish out hundreds of dollars for every tiny run variant they offer.

 

I know it's a free country, don't get the variants, blah, blah, blah. For those collectors who are completists and want to own all the issues in a series they really love, it sucks balls.

 

you Kirkman, and I'll expect the blue/red/gold/silver issues to be released in the near future.

Actually, if you pretend all the issue 100 variant madness didnt happen...there really hasnt been that many variants.

People are just upset that right after getting 16 different covers of issue 100 that all the sudden we get another one. Now if he goes on and does a variant for every cover for next six months. I agree we then have a problem... But right now. Shrug.

my 14 year old son reads the walking dead. I got him interested with the compendium and he's read it single issue form since. He loves the show. I hand him 101 yesterday and he said nah. I told him to take it and read it when he gets a chance as I thought he said no as he was going to sleep.

 

he told me no thanks again, I said why. He says the book has been terrible for a while and he's done with it.

 

Yup, that sounds pretty grim for a future TWD funnybook audience in the Pirate household. I haven't went out of my way to pick up a #101 yet myself. I guess I'm just sick of being dragged through the mud with this series. Sick of the brutal violence, gory deaths and lack of hope myself. I read these things to see good triumph over evil at least arc to arc, not the way Kirkman writes. This whole book has become some kind of joyless mess that doesn't really know what to do with it's main characters anymore. It gets pretty bad when I root for a Negan to show up and get things going in the right direction, but that's like enjoying watching Jason hack into campers who cannot act and annoy you. Not being a Friday The 13th fan, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna take a break from this floppy too. Which is no big deal, it's only $3 anyway.

But thats the appeal of the book. It isnt about the good guys always winning. Its about surviving. Living another day. Thats winning in this book.

Well it definitely seems #2 is garnering more hype than #1 currently. My buddy is trying to get one and can't find them anywhere.

 

Ebay has them for $10-$15 range already, what gives?

I picked up 4 copies. You can have one of mine for $9! Or you can go to the LCS and grab the last one there with the bent corner.

I'm a big fan of Revival...but it sort of reminds me of Torchwood: Miracle Day

I really hope they don't do twenty some print runs of #1.

Its funny you mention how nice the quality is, cause I just texted Rosen that I think this is the nicest copy of a comic I've ever received from a shipment.

Just realized that Revival is about 100 posts away from passing Thief of Thieves in post count...wonder what will happen when they announce the TV show for Revival? Might even surpass WD?

Anyone know when a registry for Revival will be made?

Ehh.. Honestly if I'm getting ready to fork over close to a grand, I'd like to see it in person too if I'm relatively close, plus it skips the potential shipping accidents. Granted I would explain why, and insist we meet in a public place with lots of people, but still.

Only thing disappointing about this issue was I got to the end and was depressed that the last few pages were ads and not more of the story.

Finally had a chance to look at Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe, a pretty hot book on EBay now. My first thought..."this art sucks *spoon*"

Everyone I know who has read it hated it...

I just bought 1 for my personal collection and paid about 180 and it should be 9.8 9.4 8.0 so I'm happy with it. Anyone get a final print run on it? I'm assuming about 1500.
